I am a Diamond member and have found Hilton properties generally good to excellent. This property, however is failing on many levels. I booked a twin bed room (generally 2 double beds). The room offered had two single beds and was incredibly small. There were also problems with cleanliness. I slept for 8 days on a portable bed as the hotel couldnâ€™t provide what was originally booked. We came back to Sydney today for one night and expected a fairly easy check in and a clean, double beds room. This certainly didnâ€™t happen. What we got was the rudeness and the lack of professionalism shown by two member of staff, including from the desk manager. I was told by the manager, â€śhe didnâ€™t have a crystal ballâ€ť. However, he knew we would be returning for one night. With this in mind, I would have expected him to make sure all would be effortless, easy, clean and as expected. I have attached a photograph to show what is to be expected for $500 per night at the Sydney Hilton George Street. On top of the price and incredibly small room, one also gets the rudeness and unprofessional. My relationship with Hilton is now compromised and I will be cancelling my future bookings with Hilton and exchange my Hilton Diamond membership to Sheratonâ€™s SPG.

The rooms are nice, but nothing special and very small. Itâ€™s the service that lets them down. Had to upgrade my room (at a cost of $100) to use the voucher we were given. Asked for an early check in - theirs is already later than most at 3pm - but only managed to get in at 240. Had high tea - VERY underwhelming. A couple of stale sandwiches and small cakes. Wasnâ€™t worth the effort. Least favorite of the big chain hotels.

Hotel room was good - very clean, airy, convenient. However....Parked as guest at Sydney Hilton in car park operated by "Secure Parking" on behalf of the hotel . Hilton advised beforehand that rates were $67.50 per hotel night self-parking and $81.00 per hotel night valet parking. Upon arrival in car park (not the hotel concourse) was told by car park attendant that there was no self-parking in the car park - only valet parking... My response was I would deal with the whole thing if an issue arose - and - of course - an issue did arise!!! Upon return to car park after checkout advised - per hotel instructions - hotel room number etc etc, which he noted on tickets and processed without any comment re charges applicable - was told to pay at machine using one of two tickets â€“ first ticket for payment, second one was for boom gate operation. (Very strange but who am I to query the system) Details of our stay were - In Feb 2018 1254 hours - out 14 Feb 2018 0945 hours - 2 hotel nights - total charges according to pay machine were $258.30... (including credit card surcharge - even though cannot avoid using credit card as you have to pay via machine -and no opportunity to query charges as they do not even show up until you are in the process of paying...The parking charges should have been - even if only valet parking is available - no more than AUD160.00. I have asked for comment and hopefully an adjustment from the car park operators "Secure Parking" but nothing has happened yet. I look forward to an early response and will post a followup if possible.

Two nights in a Hilton King room plus was an extremely enjoyable experience and a very convenient one. It was a corner room, with city views, a small sofa, a desk and chair, plenty of light, good reading lights, quiet air con and an extremely comfortable bed. The shower was large and the water force strong. It was a pleasure to return to after exploring, shopping etc, and its central location made it easy to drop back for an hour before venturing out again. Staff were pleasant and there were daily texts enquiringly after my hotel experience. Checking out was a dream. Sign a form, hand the envelope in to Reception or Concierge, and leave! It did take about 25 minutes for a technician to come and help with TV, but there was only one of him on duty that night. The hotel is so close to the QVB, cafes for breakfast, shops, trains and parks. Location is great.

The title pretty much sums it all up.. Centre of Sydneyâ€™s business and shopping district. Besides the noise and dust from the surrounding construction, the stay wasnâ€™t too bad. Staff seemed minimal for a busy Friday check in and even worse on a weekend check out having to queue 45mins to receive my car and having the valet damage my wheels in the process.
