Reviews for The Langham Sydney

A truly exceptional hotel, particularly because of the staff. Extremely service oriented. Decor throughout is beautiful.

Nice quiet ambience throughout. Never loud. Staff is extremely service oriented, warm and polite. We’ll be going back three more times over the next two months.

A very very disappointing hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I almost never write reviews here even though I travel a lot. And when I do they are 99% very positive because hospitality is hard enough right now. But I need to warn people to steer clear of this place. As I’ve said previously you need to react proportionally to the product you are sold, no good complaining a 40 pounds a night hotel isn’t the ritz. It’s not pretending to be. This place however is marketed as a luxuary 5 star hotel and is nearly 1000 oz dollars a night so it needs to be damn near perfect. When we booked and up until we checked in we weren’t told that the resturant was closed for refurbishment which under normal circumstances wouldn’t be a huge issue. However when we got in our room and discovered that not only is there nothing in the mini bar including water but that we were told they now contract food to a third party company and they can only bring items to our room via a QR code but they cannot and will not fill the mini bar with our requirements. Upon scanning the menu which is the same as the downstairs bar menu (the only venue that’s open in the hotel) we were surprised that A) it’s more like a holiday Inn menu and B that when we get back from working nights the only vegetarian option for an actual meal is chips and a vegan fried cheese wrap. This means that when I get back from work the only food this five star hotel can offer is chips and fried cheese. The room service staff are also very badly trained and don’t understand most of what you are requesting. Boiled eggs were declined twice as they didn’t understand what I meant. Then you go to breakfast in what looks like a makeshift film set canteen, because they have no resturant so they’ve put a make shift set up in the ballroom. We now go to the four seasons down the road and pay for breakfast. The door on our fridge is also hanging off and twice when we’ve asked for the room to be cleaned no one comes or they come hours later. I would also say the pictures of our suite online and the harbour views are pretty different to the reality though I guess the view of industrial wasteland is not really their fault but nevertheless it’s still real and not shown on website, which considering you pay more for the view……. The staff have been lovely but it’s a pretty poor offering that these guys have at the moment and should have made these things clear We are working and expect a hotel at this price range and reputation to be delivering better Two last things, I sent a version of this to the front desk before posting this and got no reply, then I chased that and got no reply again, so I had nowhere else to turn other than posting here To add insult to injury we were told yesterday that on our last night here the new resturant is opening… But guess what? NOT TO HOTEL GUESTs I

Beautiful oasis in the heart of Sydney!

The Langham Sydney is amazing! The staff are wonderful, responsive, and go above and beyond. The rooms are quiet, luxurious, and have all you need. The vibe is one of luxury and comfort - will plan to stay here again or anywhere we travel where there is a Langham.

Beautiful, classic hotel with bright, spacious and clean rooms. So many amenities in the room provided and the service was outstanding. This hotel is a real classic Sydney feel!

Best Hotel In Sydney

An absolutely delightful surprise after decades of never finding a hotel in Australia that met top European standards. What a wonderful haven!
