Just above "meh" but not "good"

I'm starting with the fact that it is not in Potts Point, it's Kings Cross, but we can get beyond that... Check in was lovely. Friendly without being over-bearing. One of the elevators was out of service, making progress slow. The aesthetic tries too hard, but better than not trying enough. The room was nice. Spacious enough. Nice view of a slither of the harbor. Not much room for suitcases, though. The bathroom is tiny. Super pokey. Its floor was raised just enough from the carpet to kick it with your foot often. A very sensitive shower - super hot, or not. No place to store your toiletries bag, either. The bed was ok, comfy enough. A bit noisy from the corridor, but not terrible. It's probably the best option in this location. But not a place to race back to. Kudos to the front desk folks for being friendly.

Great location in Kings Cross

Great location and comfortable room. Lots of transport options nearby, with Kings Cross on the doorstep. Very friendly, helpful staff. Ensuite layout in the Neighbourhood View room was pretty weird, the shower and toilet are just cubicles which open straight into the bedroom. So, don't be shy about getting dressed! The included breakfast was excellent.

Great place and price

Excellent place, very eccentric lots of cool rock star character. I think it gets a bad reputation because of the location in Sydney but I eased around outside many times at all hours and didn’t have any issues. Really friendly staff and the location is close to attractions. Would stay again.

Perfect as a walkable location and those wanting a spacious room

This is a very fit-for-purpose hotel and I would return for sure if travelling solo. A great location close to everything in Potts Point and Kings Cross. I was able to go to the city via the train, which was a 2-minute walk. The hotel is easy to find and the staff were very welcoming. The lobby is low-key and has a breakfast area and a cafe. The lifts were slow, and you needed to be patient (I think one was out of service). I had a 1 bedroom room on the 11th floor. I very much enjoyed the room, and it was perfect for me as a solo traveller. The bedroom is open plan, so for couples or those who have different waking hours, it may not be as good or private. The lounge and living space were excellent with a view of the city. The hotel facilities were 2nd tier but given everything is so close it didn't worry me at all. I would return for sure and book the same type of room.

Don't use a "debit" card to pay your account

Great stay that was soured by the billing process. The room rate was $231 for one night. I have been charged $231.59 (includes merchant fee) however the Hotel has also charged $281 as a security deposit, that is now being held by my bank, and as informed by hotel management after questioning this, for 10-15 working days! On check-in and check-out I was incorrectly informed by staff that the security deposit would be $50 and returned to me within 5 days. Last time I stayed here a $50 security deposit was returned to me within 3-5 working days, so beware that IHG management have advised me the exact amount of a security deposit may vary, and now I wait for up to 3 weeks for nearly $300 to be returned to my account. Also breakfast is expensive and minimal. There some great cafes in Potts Point and Darlinghurst that offer more.
