Ovolo Woolloomooloo

From the first step in…the hotel is old and ragged. Carpets have been around for 20+ years. Looking around at the reception area there are extension cords and random items all around the area. As a first impression it looks ragged, disorganized and not a place I want to stay and my first impression was correct. We were upgraded at checkin to a loft room. The main floor of the room had these yellow couches that seemed dirty, as did the room carpet. Old and ragged. The three positives - bed was comfortable, there was onsite laundry and all staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. The location (for us) was not good - that is our fault for assuming there would be more around but walk 10 to 15 mins and you’ll get a more lively place. I am surprised this is categories as a SLH Hotel. There are better options around.

I’ve always loved Ovolo Woolloomooloo — the fun vibe, great location, and those little extras that made it feel special. But this time, it really missed the mark. This is our 4th time here as a staycation. The biggest disappointment was the no more complementary mini bar. That used to be such a fun part of staying here. Now they’ve introduced something called the “WonderBar”, which is really unclear — what’s included, what’s not? It just felt ambiguous and a bit stingy compared to what Ovolo used to offer. The staff were lovely and the setting on the wharf is still beautiful, but it’s lost a bit of its charm. Ovolo used to stand out for its generosity and playful spirit — now it feels like it’s trying to cut corners. Coffee machine in room still had used pods from the previous guest and the toilet smelt like urine (again previous guest). 🤮 Such a shame

Spent 2 nights at the Ovolo but had an issue with the AC not working in the room. The staff we dealt woth were fantastic in arranging a city view room. The rooms are very spacious, lots of seating options, comfortable bedding, Alexa & great views. The hotel is modern, arty & classy. Situated within a few minutes walk of great areas like Potts Point & Darlinghurst & very close to the CBD, this is a great location without the hectic Sydney crowds & sounds. Big shout-out to the wonderful staff, Shaq, Jordan & Cam. Thank you

Nice hotel although located kinda far from the Sydney CBD its walkable. Woolloomooloo is a nice area with great restaurants and shops. Upgraded to a Bi-Level suite which was great.

Fantastic service, the staff are amazing and the food is superb. The breakfast had everything you could think off too. We had an amazing time so close to everything with a view of the marina and centre point tower. Rooms were very clean and inviting with a nice over size bathroom. Thanks Ovolo team, for everything ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
