Reviews for Sir Stamford at Circular Quay
Have stayed here a number of times. The rooms are very generously sized - often double the size of a comparable room at nearby hotels - but the furniture and carpets are quite dated. The food is very good, with a limited but quite decent range for breakfast. Excellent views from some rooms.

Located in two heritage buildings, it is a short distance from Circular Quay and the Opera House across from the Botanical Garden and close to both ground and rail transportation, giving unlimited options for sightseeing. The accommodations were pleasing and satisfied our needs, as we spent most of the day outside visiting the many sites available. In a classic building such as this, one does not expect airy, brightly lighted spaces, but more of a "club" atmosphere, polished, refined and cozy. Our room on the the 5th floor was convenient to the pool and health club area, very nicely tucked into the limited space available. The balcony view overlooked other buildings, but that is what is expected in a cityscape. We did not take up their offer to use the 10th floor to view the Australia Day fireworks, but spent it on the Quay enjoying the excitement of the crowd. The service level was excellent, with prompt bell service delivering and picking up luggage as well as attending to service in the dining room. Breakfast was included in our package and we found the offering to be satisfactory and better than or comparable to the "full" breakfast we had in other hotels. Of particular note, I want to commend Kiyotaka for his dedication in getting my needs met in the business center. While I could access our files, the printer was not working and he went to great lengths to take the material through several steps so it could be printed elsewhere. It was a pleasurable experience overall and if back in Sydney will certainly consider the Sir Stamford.

We have stayed at this hotel on 5 occasions. We love the location and the rooms are great. We always pay a little extra for the terraced room, it's well worth it. Th only negative is the breakfast buffet. We have tried it a couple of time and it has been extremely disappointing each time. The hot food is cold and just not very appetising. We will be back I am sure - but we will breakfast elsewhere.
Just spent the day here in a downstairs conference room which was a bit of a disappointment ... no significant natural light. But the catering was good and the staff were friendly. Not a place I would hire for my own workshops.

We stayed for 9 days at the Sir Stamford. This hotel is in the most wonderful position as Circular Quay, The Harbour Bridge, the fabulous Botanic Gardens and the Opera House are all within five minutes walk. We stayed in a suite which was pleasant enough with sufficient space but it was so dark, in the evening it was difficult to see if you wanted to read. The breakfasts were just about good enough but the "hot food" was very unappetising and on two occasions when I tried the eggs and tomatoes the food was cold. This was rectified however by the kitchen cooking my breakfast to order.
