Cala Luna Boutique Hotel & Villas in Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Cala Luna Boutique Hotel & Villas is so close to Costa Rica's Pacific shore that waves are the soundtrack that lulls guests to sleep. Located on a secluded section of Langosta Beach, where the sunsets are vibrantly visible and the tide rolls in over volcanic rock, Cala Luna is centrally located to the surfing mecca of Tamarindo. But the natural beauty – and daily vinyasa yoga classes in an open-air studio – makes the resort itself a place to connect with Mother Earth.

End the morning's sun salutations with a guided meditation while listening to the chatter of a nightingale thrush in the trees. Walk through an indigenous forest filled with wildlife to the beach and explore tidal pools filled with fish and crabs. Take an afternoon snorkel cruise, keeping an eye out for dolphins and breaching whales. Return for happy hour on the beach before a personalized dinner under the stars.

I came here for six days with my boyfriend and it is by far the best vacation we have been on! (we have traveled around the world) Not only is this hotel beautiful but the staff here are wonderful, they make you feel at home. They take the time to remember your name throughout the trip. Carlos who is the tour advisor really made us have a great vacation with the different tours and massages he offered and set us up with. We also had two private dinners at the hotel which was the most romantic thing you can do! Ricardo and Pablo took very good care of us and always went the extra mile to offer anything if we needed. Ever also made the most amazing complimentary drinks from 5-6 on the hotel's private beach which he makes in front of you (usually complimentary drinks barely have any alcohol) but these drinks were DELICIOUS and you could definitely taste the alcohol. I've had serving experience and these serves can not be topped!! Not to mention the food here is amazing everything is organic and freshly made by their chef. Tatiana also gave the most relaxing massage I would definitely take the time out of your vacation and make sure you get the coffe scrub with full body massage! I would recommend this hotel to anyone considering visiting Costa Rica! We will definitely be back! PURA VIDA

Excellent resort with attentive, friendly staff. Quiet location removed from hustle of Tamarindo, yet within easy access. Complimentary bicycles were a plus. Wonderful cuisine, any time of day. Easy access to beach.

Very quiet and private, staff were just unbelievably nice and always helpful. Always remembered my name and offered to help plan trips and transportation to anywhere you wanted to go. I will definitely recommend to my friends and family and will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful accommodations and grounds. Jungle by the beach. Great food options at onsite restaurant. Nice to relax day or night at the pool. Walk or quick ride to town. Option to have private bungalow with private pool.

Absolutely amazing resort. Check in process was simple and easy - we got to check in early which was fantastic because we just came back from a 4 hour bus ride from La Fortuna. Food was good, but not the greatest Costa Rican dishes we've had. Either way, we ate lots of food at the restaurants, so it was yummy. We enjoyed a couples massage, which was very good and relaxing. Breakfast was a good variety - omelet station, fresh fruits, fresh juices, bread selection, plantains, rice/beans - very good! The service was impeccable - the waiters, concierge, housekeeping were all amazing. The rooms were AMAZING - updated, double rainfall shower, nice hot water, clean clean clean, comfortable king size bed, good A/C, very private and romantic rooms. The location was great - 20 mins walk to Tamarindo or 5 mins Taxi. Overall, 5 star experience, would come back again and recommend to others.
