Reviews for Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa

Safety/security had no concern, as long as your not doing anything that effects the casino negatively.

My partner and I usually go at least once or twice a month or more, and usually spend A LOT of money when there. Always, we have enjoyed our experiences, and would never give a bad comment. However, lately I find the Casio. Is really being over-run with people on the casino floor (not the Casino itself) finding new ways to scam people out of money. Ie “watchers that stand around and wait for you to win, then ask for money and will follow you, to what happened to my partner this week. My partner is not used to the scams that happen here (as he is from another country). A person approached him when he was winning at one of the machines and told him he would sell him a Rolex watch and a gold ring. The person offered to trade my partner a gold ring for my partners diamond studded gold ring (I am glad he refused that). But the person offered to give him the ring and the Rolex for $2,000. I was not there immediately or I would have stopped this transaction all together. I am really surprised that This casino would allow and not stop this kind of unethical and illegal activity on the floor of the casino. They boast to have state of the art security/ camera/ monitoring, and trust me, I have seen them in action when things go wrong for the casino. But the apparent lack of security for people just being scammed in there in general by non casino workers that is just over looked is ridiculous. What next, people following me to my car after watching me win? Where is the safety? I will not be returning. I’ll just take my casino cruises from now on. Sad, because I used to feel safe and enjoy this place.

I was told when I arrived that because I was comped for my room they were giving me a smoking room. After complaining and saying I booked a non smoking she miraculously gave use a non smoking room. Also for the life of me I cannot figure out why the casinos in Florida still allow smoking. I will never come to another casino in Florida while they still allow smoking.

Slots are not good

Well, we moved to Tampa 8 years ago from South Florida. We are big gamblers mind you. I have yet to leave Tampa Hard Rock with as much as one dollar in my pocket after at least 200 trips. Slots are fun, but not worth it if you're going to just donate 100% every single trip.

Quality experience! The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and offered a wide assortment of amenities. The casino had a large variety of games which kept my party entertained for the duration of our trip. The food on site was tasty although a little pricey.

Downhill...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Been here a few times and usually had a decent stay but this time it seems it has gone downhill. First, check in had quite a long line. I've said this in other reviews and will continue to call out properties that have long check in lines. It is a terrible first impression. Guests waiting to check in havent usually come from next door...they have been driving, flying, etc and just want to get settled. A line at check in says the property doesnt really care. While it did move fairly quickly, it was a long line and a wait nonetheless. Our room was in the old tower and was basic and tired. It was clean and well stocked but dated. The casino is huge, which is why we like this place -- we like big casinos where there is a lot of variety of games all under one roof. But there was absolutely no play here. Machines just sucked the money and it wasnt even fun after a while. We played multiple denominations, low limit, high limit, new games, older games and the result was the same. No wins. Now, we never expect to win, but at least play a little. And the comps here are nothing. Equal play at other major chains seems to get me a lot more. There was essentially minimal comps and free play earned on what I feel like was decent play. There should be more casual dining. Rise is decent but once youve been there for breakfast and lunch its repetitive. The food court looks underwhelming, is tucked away in a dark corner, and its overpriced. Constant Grind looks appealing but is limited in its menu. A few more casual places would be better. The real kicker is I asked for 1 hour late check out--- till noon. Was told it would be $50. That's complete nonsense for 1 hour (probably less). Funny, when I had to wait in line to check in and it was past the check in time, I didnt charge them for their delay. I refused to pay this especially after playing a lot. And the kicker was housekeeping knocked on the door before 11am even with the do not disturb on asking when we were leaving. I should charge them for the early check out! Unfortunately, there is not a lot of competition on the west coast of Florida right now for gaming. I hope this changes.
