We checked in late at night & we're aghast to find we were given 2 rooms at the extreme ends. They gave us a room in the basement with little or no sunlight. Not what u want on a vacation on Bali. We insisted on two rooms next to each other but we're told nothing else was available. We understood later that the only decent rooms are with the pool view. We tried to sleep but found mosquito all over the room adding to our ordeal. The hotel is divided into 2 parts. The front having a nice facade usually seen on net,has a nice pool with an average beach. Not a beach worth visiting. U will have to Cross a road to go to the main building with only the reception area looking good. The rest of the hotel is very average. We enquired if we could shift rooms by paying extra but found the front office staff extemely lethargic & inefficient. Good part - we stayed only 2 nights. The other good part was the restaurant near the beach was very nice with good friendly staff.

Got put in this hotel by its sister Tanjung Benoa next door. At first it was for 2 nights only but we asked if we could complete our stay at the Sakala. Thank you so much to both hotels as they agreed to our request. Both hotel desk staff were great. The Sakala was so quiet at the beginning of the stay but got more busy but not really busy. That made our stay far more enjoyable and relaxing. All staff we friendly and we took time to engage with them. Not all guests do, but my husband liked to interact with the staff. I guess some of them struggled with English and the English sense of humour but they are pretty good natured and a credit. I hope they remember us as the friendly couple from room 627. The pool is amazing but needs some TLC, replacement tiles and the jacuzzis need fixing. Not many sunbeds but we could always find one as I said it was not busy. The breakfast staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you though i am uncomfortable being waited on. I like getting my own coffee actually. The biggest drawback to this hotel is its location. The beach is horrible and the road its on is awful. However there a bus shuttle to a nicer beach if you prefer. The resort of Nusa Dua is 2km down the road and is more upmarket. So to conclude: awful location but fantastic hotel staff. Big rooms. Needs some general maintanance about the place but overall we were happy to stay there as staff and management were gracious.

Resort is very nice. The pool inside the hotel very nice. The other one across the street at beach. Breakfast was good. And all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Their room quite spacious. Clean and comfort. We enjoyed our stay here.

Advice! 1. 1.Don’t expect the swimming pool in the Villa. Because the pool is dirty. If you call somebody to clean, they just pick up leaves. 2.Don’t expect varied food at breakfast. The breakfast almost the same food everyday. And the ingredients are not stored properly, you may eat soft nuts and soft bread dices. 3.Don’t expect beautiful beach. The boat here is full of beaches. 4.It is recommended to wash your hair in the daytime to dry naturally in the sun, unless you want to experience a small, cold blowing hair dryer at night.
