The Ashbee is a very nice hotel, with very polite and attentive staff ( The Australians below must have been staying somewhere else ! ) The pool was small but perfect for the cool off dip and the surrounding area was good with plenty of beds and towels and with a small bar and eating area. We had a lovely holiday here despite - We asked for a sea view, which you could just about see if you stood at the very end of the huge balcony and squinted between the trees, there was a good size wardrobe but little other storage, the big problem with this hotel is the extra expense, the breakfast of continental is built into the cost as are the eggs anyway you like but if you want to go off piste with some holandaise sauce or pancakes you are talking about 20 Euros a time - each the coffee was good and flowing, if you want a glass of milk apparently that was expensive too on the plus side the view was simply stunning. We couldn't afford to eat at the hotel, nor it seems did anyone else and drinks before or at the end of the evening was around 25 euros for a Gin and tonic that's £50 a couple, needless to say we didn't see anyone at the bar either so there was a lack of atmosphere, it's fair to say that Taoramina is very expensive with drinks ranging from 18 euros a time so beware and a bottle of Pinot Grigio from the little shop is 11 euros, but that's worth having on the balcony. Would we stay again - absolutely but just on a B&B basis without any extras ( bottle of water 4 euros ) This hotel needs to wake up and bring the costs down to get the customers spending and make a profit - one last thing, we were round the pool and given a ribbon tied scroll, offering us the chefs special ice cream at £18 a time, don't they wonder why no one is eating or drinking - Go and enjoy the very very busy town with fantastic people watching and loads of eating places - unbelievable !

This hotel is so overrated, very expensive and full of hidden charges. My family were treated like second class citizens. The reception staff was horrible to deal with and very rude. Would never stay here again! Ordered a cold glass of milk for a 1 year old and charged 16euros.

We loved this hotel. It's small, intimate and gorgeous. The service is excellent, the staff is very friendly and professional and ready to make your stay just perfect. The view from the hotel is stunning and it's proximity to the town is a plus. The room is comfortable and nicely done, I really liked the bathroom and the rain shower. We didn't eat there so I cannot comment on the food. We had cocktails in the beautiful roof terrace overlooking the sea. I just love this hotel and enjoyed my stay.

This was the best hotel from our trip to Sicily. We were greeted and given a tour of the property. We felt like we were the most special guests they had. My son found out that there was an Eddie Vedder concert while we were there from the front desk. Irene and the manager went out of their way to get him tickets and have them delivered to the hotel. They made us feel like family. The breakfast was the best that we had at any of the hotels. The pool was beautiful - I couldn't get my granddaughter out of it. I can't say enough good things about this place. We can't wait to return!
