La Plage Resort

I noticed this hotel while travelling through Sicily one autumn. Then we came to stay here and to visit Isola Bella(a wonderful and mysterious island just in walking distance). We liked breakfasts here. They are served on a terrace open-air,so fresh ,stunning view and delicious food. The service is nice. We booked a bungalow. It was a bit dark and congested. Right in front of the bed there is a bathroom door,and it is transparent. To spend lots of time out in the beach and travelling around the island may be it’s fine. I wouldn’t choose this bungalow again. There is a hotel area. It might be better and brighter. There is a pebble beach and the water is crystal clear. It’s pretty cool.

The worst beach club ever. Everything was dirty, old and the staff members didn’t seem to care or do their job. For less price there are other beach clubs those are way better. Those provide 5star experience, La plage has got to be a joke. The sunbeds are old and uncomfortable, located as if we were directly on the street. We asked for water right when we arrived and waited !!!1 hour!!! At that point we had to go ourselves to the bar. It was the same w everything we asked for. When we went to get lunch we were told that they don’t have any tables available (they did) and after stating that it’s not okay that we are guests and they don’t have enough tables which they don’t mention while reserving the beach clubs. Only after 20 minute arguing they gave us the table. The service was again super long and bad. The food was horrible. They use frozen fish. The place itself was dirty and old. When we were discussing of how bad the beach club is, the waiter told us he understands our language as if we’re some teenagers that he wanted to “give a lesson” I told him that I can tell him in every language I speak that this beach club is horrible and it’s not something we’re hiding. Later some ladies (from guest relation I guess) came over to check on us but it was already 4pm and there was no sense on giving us “free drinks” especially that we had our unused tickets. We do not recommend this place. There are other beach clubs like Nuova Soiaggia Paradiso and Tao beach those are 100x times better.

We booked Sun beds at La Plage Beach Club Resort, Taormina for the day through the spiagge.it booking page. We had a wonderful day on Isola Bella beach. The booking included the sun-beds, towels, 2 waters and two drinks. We also had a nice lunch at the beach restaurant. We arranged our own transfers from the cruise port in Messina (allow for an hour each way). The staff was lovely and the atmosphere was very nice and relaxed.

Incredibly rude staff. Do not attend.

The location is gorgeous but what made our stay so wonderful was the staff.. guest relations, the beach club team, the breakfast crew and Chiara in the spa.. my wife and I were made to feel that we were very special guests even though the attention we received was the same for all the guests to our observation..
