Reviews for Castle Hotel & Spa
My husband and I spent a spectacular weekend at the Castle Hotel in September 2017, and we will treasure our time here forever. From the minute we walked in, the front desk staff (Ebonni and Christiana) welcomed us like we were part of their family. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely professional. Throughout our stay we called them several times, and they always went above and beyond to meet our requests. The suite we stayed in was immaculate- the classical music playing on the bose speakers when we walked in, the tasteful decor, the bath amenities and the unbelievably comfortable/luxurious bed - you truly never want to leave the room. The impeccably kept grounds and beautiful architectural details, however, will draw you out. Instagram worthy shots are around nearly every corner, and you could get lost exploring the gorgeous rooms throughout the Castle. The pool is truly an oasis, and the Hudson River view is the cherry on top. I wish I had the opportunity to book something at the Spa, but just being on the property in and of itself was so relaxing; this place instantly provides a respite from the craziness of everyday life. I still can't get over the fact that it is less than an hour from NYC. We ended our stay with a delicious prix fixe brunch on the patio, which was fit for a King & Queen. The service was great, even if on the slower side, but the food was well worth the wait and we were more than happy to stay at the Castle every bit longer. Lastly, we had the opportunity to meet the General Manager Lloyd Nakano, and it is easy to understand why the Castle has become such a world class institution. Perhaps the Castle's greatest asset, Mr. Nakano is a kind and fascinating man, and I could have spoken to him for hours; I felt like we were in great hands and he epitomizes the definition of hospitality. I will certainly make staying at the Castle Hotel a tradition, and look forward to my return! There is simply nothing like it in the area.

This is a lovely place to stay when visiting the Tarrytown area. While it is pricey, the rooms are spacious and nicely furnished, and the setting couldn't be more romantic - it is like living in a castle for a night or two!

This is one of the best appointed luxury hotels. Even the most basic room has well thought out fixtures and layout. The suites are even better but pricey. We found the dining room a little overrated, with a repetitive menu. Excellent staff.

Setting is lovely. We were there in wedding season so the hotel had a captive audience with so many weddings. But that does not mean you can get away with very high prices for mediocre standards. Front desk staff were ambivalent. Wait staff were poorly trained. Buffet breakfast was not good and badly served. Rooms were large and needed a refresh. You could overlook some issues with a well-trained attentive staff and a higher level of cleanliness. The hotel could be delightful but right now they are falling well below the standard expected.

Declining services regretfully characterized recent stay.Almost totally empty hotel marked by only mediocre food, amateurish service, and so so accommodationso diluted effects of beautiful setting. Worst: questionable and likely fraudulent billing which has yet to be resolved. On second and last visit, only one other guests in hotel The dishonesty on the part of the staff that continues and the general tenor of all aspects of this hotel which reflects neither it's prices nor purported caliber of this hotel for me spell NEVER AGAIN..probably why found $600 room on Internet last weekend for $159! Buyer Beware!
