Reviews for Huka Lodge
This is one of the best places I have ever been. The Lodge sits beside the river and only 500 meters from the waterfall. The food is extraordinary and the service cannot be better. New Zealand landscape is one of the most beautiful in the world but here they even manicure it to make it perfect. I could stay here forever.
Huka Lodge is faultless! From the moment you arrive to the, regrettable, time you have to leave, Huka Lodge and its staff will wow you. The tasteful rooms located on the bank of the Waikato River are a private sanctuary. We had a massage in our room and afterwards it was wonderful to just relax and be mesmerised by the fast flowing river just meters away. Pre dinner drink and canapés in the lodge lounge gives you a chance to meet fellow guests, if you feel so inclined, before you move to your private dining location at one of the many spots around the lodge. We were lucky enough to have the entire wine cellar to ourselves for the degustation dinner. It was truly memorable! After dinner cheese and petit fours are served in the lodge lounge and presents a perfect opportunity to have a port or cognac by the fire before retiring to your suite. Breakfast the following morning is sumptuous to say the least. It's no wonder Huka Lodge is constantly rated one of the best in the world!

We were greeted by the manager and welcomed back Our son and his new wife were traveling with us so we wanted to spend as much time with them. We had rented the PYE Cottage which is absolutely stunning. It is a spit level home with a huge living area between them, a pool and a huge hot tub. To begin this lovely stay we took off in a helicopter to see the thermal bursts and Huka Falls. We landed at Lake Taupo to do some fishing. Our new daughter caught a large trout that was served to us at dinner as sushi - wonderful. They served our first night's meal to us in our cottage which was so great. We were lucky the following night to be there for the annual BIG RED DINNER with Chef Scott Pickett and Craggy Range Wines! We had more venison and beef than in all of New Zealand. We did a lot of hiking and swimming in local thermal baths. The Huka staff could not be any better. We truly enjoyed our stay. I could not even think of any thing they could do better. Be sure to look at their list of activities. GO!

My Wife took me to Huka Lodge for a surprise dinner. All i can say it was an Awesome experience with the most amazing food and service. everything was perfect from the welcoming drinks right to the end of the night. I would highly recommend going there i certainly will.
Our first visit to Huka Lodge was certainly in general up to expectations, which were very high. The setting and the immaculately groomed grounds are quite stunning, and the welcome from staff on arrival very warm and genuine. Our Junior Suite was just beautiful, stunning decor and facilities, overlooking the river. The only negative was the condition of the carpet, which had definitely passed it's prime, being somewhat worn and puckered in places, not what is expected in a world class lodge. We didn't notice the lack of a landline phone on display as mentioned by other reviewers, but certainly noticed the absence of a TV, which was mildly annoying as it was the night of New Zealand's General Election results. The evening meal was superb, although it would not seem unreasonable to have wine matching with the degustation courses, given the tariff. Service and the general ambiance of the dining room, looking down over the lawn and river While it wasn't summer, I had expected that the pool might be heated, especially being in the heart of thermal country, so it was disappointing to find it not so, although there are two hot plunge pools close by. However, none of the niggles mentioned above detracted greatly from the overall magic experience of the lodge.
