A really nice place to stay

My wife and I made a trip out to the Phoenix area to see family and friends and stayed at the Tempe Mission Palms. It's overall a very nice hotel, the grounds are quite nice with a large courtyard in the middle, a bar and restaurant on the ground floor and a bar on the second floor along with a pool. Most of the ground floor appears to be meeting/conference rooms with the hotel rooms on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. We stayed in a one bedroom suite on the fourth floor which was enormous. In a slightly unusual bit of interior decorating, there was a large table in the main room with six chairs that looked more like a conference room table than a dining room table, along a countertop that ran nearly the length of the room with a sink, one you might see in a meeting room with a catered lunch setup. It was almost like half the place was a meeting room and half was a hotel room. Bathroom was big with a good shower and two sinks, TV in the bedroom as well as the living room. TV had HDMI ports to plug in something like a Fire Stick, but the hotel-specific remotes don't let you change input source. You can do it from controls directly on the TVs themselves though. One big positive that I am not used to with a Hyatt hotel is free parking. The property is surrounded on three sides by a public parking lot, and you get a parking pass for that that allows you to self park for free. I've been to other Hyatts that charge $40+ a day to self park, so this was a nice surprise. The downsides to that are that they often had the side entrances to the property locked, and only valet on the side of the property that you could actually get in and out of. Not a big deal, but it could be a bit of a walk. The other is that on Friday and Saturday night, it can be tough to find an open spot in the lot as it fills up with people going to the numerous restaurants and bars along Mill Ave. The only other downside was Mill Ave. Our room was on the Mill Ave side of the building and it can be very loud there. A lot of people apparently like to bring their Camaros, Chargers, Challengers, and the occasional Mustang with custom exhausts to Mill and drive back and forth, revving their engines. This went on for *hours* on Saturday night, and the windows in the unit do not do much to block it out. If you can get a room that doesn't have windows facing Mill, that might help. Also, surprisingly, their burger was quite good, which is unusual for a hotel.

Wonderful courtyard

This hotel has a great location only 10 to 15 minutes from the airport. The courtyard within the hotel has fantasy landscaping with many very tall palms. The breakfast buffet in that courtyard is the best I’ve ever had

Gorgeous resort with a friendly staff!

We made a short overnight trip to Tempe to escape the snow and cold at home. The breakfast buffet, pool and bar/food service at the pool reached beyond our expectations. We will be back. We booked a king pool patio room. It was wonderful, you share the patio area with other rooms, which isn’t clear on the website, but this wasn’t a concern for us at all. We loved being right there at the pool.

Location is great. People were very friendly and the breakfast buffet was definitely a 10 out of 10. Also, the bed was very comfortable in the pool area was very nice as well.
