Thatch Caye Resort

Amazing private island experience. Excellent food, extremely attentive and friendly staff, and world class snorkeling/diving paired with a stunning setting made Tahatch Caye the highlight of our first trip to Belize. Highly recommend visiting here as it is Belize at its finest...much more memorable than the busier spots in San Pedro. Thank you for making our anniversary trip so special!

Thatch Caye needs some improvements. 1. The facility seems badly dated and in need of improvements 2. The window screens are torn so we were reluctant to open our windows and invite in the flying bugs 3. Our toilet really did not flush well, so we resorted to using the trash can and water from the shower. 4. The deck and room chairs are extremely uncomfortable - change them out or provide cushions 5. Our door did not seal, bugs have free access to the room. 6. Our bathroom was a bug haven, I killed many bugs in the bathroom daily. 7. Our sink stand was a roach home - I put a wine glass in our room and caught roaches almost daily - when we left I left one dead in the wine glass. 8. Many of the buildings need new siding and wood repair. 9. Adding a restroom by the sandy beach would be a plus 10. The staff was incredible, communication was excellent and the transportation to and from the resort was perfect

If you are ready to completely relax and take a break from your digital life, Thatch Caye is the island to go to in Belize. No TVs in the rooms, limited Internet service on the island, fun with family and friends instead The service and employees on the island are top notch. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. There are only 30 guests on the island and apparently 30 employees for those guests. It’s like going to summer camp for adults. Everything isrustic, but very comfortable. The snorkeling, fishing, island hopping adventures are outstanding. Everybody knows you by your first name. It is remarkable. The bungalows are elevated. You climb a set of stairs to your private bungalow. Inside is a functional bedroom and bathroom with superb air conditioning A second door door leads up another set of stairs to a hammock under a shade structure with two chairs. To watch the sunrise with the gentle breeze is magnificent. The food is adequate. Everything they served was clean and simple. Two of my favorite things were the dinner song that is played when it’s time for dinner. Every night we made a point to dance If you’re looking for a getaway to unplug, I highly recommend this resort. it. Additionally, there are two wonderful dogs, pico and Marley. If you’re lucky, Marley will spend the night in your bungalow with you. He’s well behaved. I’m so grateful they had dogs there. It helped me while I was away from my doggy.

This is our second time here and everyone feels like family. This is a great place to get away and relax. The snorkeling and fishing was great!
