Thatch Caye Resort

What an experience! We had an amazing group of 26 friends on this trip that required a lot from the staff, which was more than they were used to. They adjusted to us and gave us a vacation none of us will ever forget. We have all been to places, but the trip to Thatch Caye we will always remember. The staff like Junior, Irwin, and Charles took extra time to make our stay fun and exciting. Jessica and Logan with the food service they provided. Jessica even going above and beyond by making a cake for a friend with a birthday. Luis and Jackson always up for a friendly conversation. I didn't get to know a lot the other staff that all make this resort work, but they all did amazing. Last but not least the Island dogs of Marly and Peco who greeted us when we arrived and also were there to say goodbye. Thank you Thatch Caye!!

I went to Thatch Caye with a large group of friends, and we are not a quiet bunch. The staff here welcomed us with open arms and got to know us by name and treated us wonderfully. Junior, Charles and Irwin were such amazing bartenders and servers and they wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, especially Junior who became like part of our family as he had to deal with us the whole week. :) Logan and Jessica were also amazing and always had smiles and patience for our large group and did whatever they could to accommodate us and make sure we had everything we needed. It was a great place to unwind and be treated exceptionally. Highly recommend!!

I visited Thatch Caye as part of a 2 part auction package and was absolutely thrilled with my stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, with easy smiles and lots of laughter. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. My room had a huge bed, a daybed tucked into a window book overlooking the ocean, and an upper deck with rocking chairs and a hammock from which to relax and watch the setting sun. The food was very good - simple but flavorful with a variety of items to choose from. Dining is family style which allowed me to meet and get to know many other guests. Most of the guests were open and friendly and easy to talk to. I snorkeled along the beach and also went out on a boat for snorkel on the reef with a guide. The beach snorkeling was easy and nice, with sightings of a variety of rays and lots of colorful fish. The excursion with the guide was terrific - he was so helpful at making sure that we saw lots of interesting marine specimens and telling us what we were seeing, adding interesting bits of information about the species each time. He was very knowledgeable about the local marine life and that added a lot to the snorkel excursion. This is not the place to go if you are looking for a luxury resort but for a casual, low key, clean, well run facility I highly recommend Thatch Caye.

Exceptional on all accounts. An absolute perfect getaway with friends. Can not say enough good things about the island, and mostly about the people who work there. The staff was absolutely amazing. Jessica, Luis, Junior, Irvin, Charles, Raphael, plus the ones I'm forgetting- thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.

Where to start!?!? Our travel to the island went without a hitch! By small plane, van and boat, they do not skip a beat! Our group of 26 North Dakotans arrived on Thatch Caye with high hopes, but nothing could have prepared us for just how extraordinary this island would be. From the moment we stepped off the boat, the atmosphere wrapped around us like a deep breath we didn’t know we needed—serene, authentic, clean, and absolutely perfect in every way. The island itself is a dream. There’s enough space for everyone to find their own quiet corner—whether that meant a hammock over the water, a peaceful walk along the sand, or a moment to simply listen to the waves. Yet somehow, the layout and the energy of the place brought us together effortlessly for meals, happy hour, and laughter-filled evenings. It felt like the island knew exactly when we needed solitude and when we needed connection. The food was incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared—but what truly made our stay unforgettable was the staff. Every single person went above and beyond, not because it was their job, but because they cared. They treated us like family from day one, and by the end, that’s exactly what they felt like. Junior was the heartbeat of our group—he knew all 26 of us by name, kept us hydrated, and had us laughing nonstop. Jessica was a ray of sunshine, always smiling, always present, and somehow everywhere at once. Logan was the sweetest soul, making sure we were taken care of in every way. Erwin hyped up our DJ skills and kept the mood light and joyful. Luis made sure we experienced the very best of Belize, organizing our stays and excursions with such care. And Jackson jumped right into the chaos of our big group and handled it with ease, kindness, and a whole lot of patience. What touched us most was how the entire staff—every single one—would stop what they were doing to greet us as we walked by. They checked in constantly, not out of obligation, but out of genuine warmth. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it’s something we’ll never forget. The hardest part of our trip wasn’t the travel or the early mornings—it was leaving. Saying goodbye felt like leaving behind a new family we weren’t ready to part with. Thatch Caye isn’t just a resort. It’s a feeling, a community, a memory you carry long after you’ve left. And for all 26 of us, it was nothing short of perfect.
