We stayed here for a week with our children, ages 9 and 14. It was the perfect launching off point to visit a number of Michigan attractions --- Sleeping Bear Dunes, Mackinac Island, Frankfort, Crystal Lake, Traverse City, etc. We also loved how much the property had to offer by just staying put ---- we enjoyed the pool (get there early to get a chair), rock climbing wall, ropes course, bike trails, the art park, alpine slide, basketball and ping pong, chairlifts, restaurants, and spa. Don't miss the art park --- it's a beautiful walk through the woods to admire a variety of sculpture. The grounds are beautiful and the care and attention paid to the surroundings is noticeable at every turn, even during their renovation. The flowers are beautiful and everywhere! The staff at the pool, adventure course, and front desk are friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and available. Special thanks to our server during a very busy breakfast at Wild Tomato who handled the crowds and their requests with a constant smile and genuine warmth. We stayed in a two-bedroom condo that was well-equipped for meal preparation. The back porch overlooking the trees and greens was a peaceful and wonderful place for morning coffee. We stopped in Cadillac to buy groceries (a great tip from the staff before we arrived) and also found that the on-site store was well stocked with a wide variety of items. Be sure to check out their selection of Moomer's ice cream for dessert. The only thing that needed attention was the condo's cleanliness. The daily cleaning covers the basics just fine, it's more of the deep clean that needs to be scheduled. There were a number of dead bugs on the window sills, spider webs and spiders taking up residence in the corners, some ants in the kitchen. I suspect during a busy summer season, these get overlooked. Overall, this was a fantastic experience for our family, we have highly recommended it to all who have asked about our trip upon our return, and we hope to be back next year, if not sooner.

We stayed here with our 6 & 7 yr old daughters for a few nights this summer, using the resort as a base as we explored the area (including Sleeping Bear Dunes). The pros: the staff we encountered throughout the resort were very friendly and helpful. Pool area is very nice with enough to keep the kids occupied, including the ropes course/zip line and rock climbing. All of the food we had was better than I had anticipated (and our youngest fell in love with the truffled parmesan fries!). Loved the soap/shampoo/lotion provided in the bathroom. I really appreciate the eco-friendly refillable bottles that stay in the room and the quality of the product was great. My kids loved the lavender! Cons: While my kids enjoyed the alpine slide, I thought it was way overpriced for what it was. We stayed in the Colony rooms, which I am assuming/hoping are due for an update soon. They were adequate and were cleaned well each day, but just needed an update. They have those old attached-to-the-wall hair dryers in the bathroom --- I cannot remember the last time I stayed somewhere with those! A few small updates would go a long way. Overall, it was a nice getaway. We would consider coming back for a ski trip this winter.

I booked this hotel for two nights to attend a wedding. The bride organized a "special rate" which was more e pensive than normal rates! We were booked in the Hamlet. Yes, close to the reception area, but a dark and smelly walk up room for $250 a night. Positives are that the facilities (pool, zipline, golf) are nice and great fun. *We met many people at the wedding who stayed off site for half price, but paid daily rate to use the facilities. Smart. I spoke to the front desk. Was told that the Hamlet is due for renovations (yup!) and that we didn't get any discount. Wish we had known it was a walk up room (no elevator) and that the wedding was accessed by chair lift. My husband has a fear of heights.

This was a great Resort for our 9 & 12 year olds. They loved the zip line, swim pool, rock climbing wall, alpine slide, campfires, hiking and biking! Also, it was a perfect location to go to Traverse City, Sleeeping Bear Dunes and other small towns on the lake. I recommend it for the price too.
