I booked this hotel for two nights to attend a wedding. The bride organized a "special rate" which was more e pensive than normal rates! We were booked in the Hamlet. Yes, close to the reception area, but a dark and smelly walk up room for $250 a night. Positives are that the facilities (pool, zipline, golf) are nice and great fun. *We met many people at the wedding who stayed off site for half price, but paid daily rate to use the facilities. Smart. I spoke to the front desk. Was told that the Hamlet is due for renovations (yup!) and that we didn't get any discount. Wish we had known it was a walk up room (no elevator) and that the wedding was accessed by chair lift. My husband has a fear of heights.

This was a great Resort for our 9 & 12 year olds. They loved the zip line, swim pool, rock climbing wall, alpine slide, campfires, hiking and biking! Also, it was a perfect location to go to Traverse City, Sleeeping Bear Dunes and other small towns on the lake. I recommend it for the price too.

Stayed in the Colony for a one night family stay. The grounds are well kept and the employees were all very nice and helpful. Colony is an older unit and it is showing its age. The room was neat however the bathroom was very tight and needed some updating. Very disappointed the jetted tub did not work and the exhaust fan was extremely loud. Was a little disappointed to see mold as well. Overall the room was fine for our needs and we would recommend though a little pricey for what you get. As noted the grounds of the resort are beautiful and well kept. Indoor pool and outdoor pool were nice and the hot tub was great after a long days drive. If staying here and visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes, note it's a good 30-45 minute scenic drive. Very bike friendly area šŸ˜ƒ

Each year we choose a different resort to golf at. This year it was Crystal Mountain. We were given a 5 bedroom Mountainside Condo. 2 bedrooms and 1 bath on upper level, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on main level, 1 bedroom and 1 bath on lower level. We had plenty of room for 12 women The golf courses were in really good shape. Good courses for women, we finished exactly on time. The beer cart girl was out and I think she came to us 3 or 4 times on the 18 holes. The resort has everything, hiking trails, biking trails, movies, art in the woods. Lots of things to do for families. The only thing that was troublesome, they give you 2 parking passes for the condo, we had 3 vehicles. We were supposed to park at the tennis courts, but we never found them. So, we parked by the garages across from the condo.
