Reviews for The Prince Park Tower Tokyo

NOT a 5* hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

First off, this is NOT a 5* hotel and we would definitely not stay here again. This was our 5th trip to Tokyo with my husband and teens (15 and 17 yrs) and we stayed one night at the end of our trip due to the close proximity to Haneda. We had 2 premier club floor junior suites. The rooms were very small, the bathrooms were almost miserably small and the closet was basically non existent. The only thing we liked about the rooms was the balcony. In previous visits to Tokyo, we've stayed at the Capitol Hotel, Park Hyatt Tokyo and Grand Hyatt Tokyo which were outstanding and we know what to expect from a true 5* hotel and lounge experience in this city. This lounge was nowhere close to it. The service was not up to par, the food was very mediocre and there was not much of a selection of upscale drink options. On a positive note, the views of the Tokyo Tower from the lounge were incredible so it was nice to relax there and enjoy the view. For breakfast, it was not served in the intimate lounge but in a giant restaurant with buffet options which felt like a Las Vegas all you can eat nightmare. It was very chaotic. We didn't know mediocre food and service existed in Japan until this hotel, as we've only had outstanding food and service everywhere we've been in the country. Spend the extra money and stay in a true upscale hotel.

Beautiful hotel, fabulous staff and excellent location.

The hotel staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel is beautiful, a great location, and close to many sights. Our room was extremely comfortable with lots of spa quality amenities. This was our first trip to Tokyo and the concierge was a lifesaver!

5 Star rating for the 5 Star Prince Park Tower Tokyo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The Prince Park Tower Tokyo made us feel like we were at home although we were in a foreign city, far from our New York home. It was truly a Five Star property with every amenity imaginable for an unforgettable stay. Shout out to the assistant manager of the Front Office, Isemoto Akihiro. We arrived at midnight, after a long plane journey, exhausted and hungry. With all the restaurants closed, he personally brought champagne, snacks, and cookies to our room as a gift from the hotel. He went above and beyond to check us into a beautiful room, taking into consideration all our requests. Mr. Akihiro embodies the true meaning of hospitality.

Not worth the money

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I would not consider this property to be 5 STAR. The room we stayed in, twin room, it was outdated, shower had mould growing in it. The windows are not sound proof, we could hear every car, bird or truck going past, not good at night or in the morning when you are trying to sleep. The beds had no top sheet. Good bathroom supplies provided, shampoo, hairbrush and soap. The hotel is close to the parks, but not really close to the local shopping stores. Staff were attentive.

Ok but dated in parts, tourist hotel lacking personal service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The rooms are dated but clean and maintained. Parts of the hotel are also dated while some of it updated. Main bar poky and old. Top level view bar amazing but you can never get in,so a drink after a day out is not possible without waiting. Lacking personalisation do not expect anything apart from standard tourist hotel. Large but designed originally for the 80’s an era of conferences big corporate dinners and restaurants designed for corporates. Ok but surprised it is an Amex recommended hotel. Tourist hotel.
