About the Hotel

The Tokyo Station Hotel operates in one of the world’s busiest railroad stations, but its grand hallways and rooms full of plush carpeting and chandeliers are rapturously silent. The hotel opened nearly a century ago and survived both the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake and World War II, one of the few buildings from that time period that remains. Cathedral ceilings, crown molding and heavy silk draperies give rooms a regal feel, and bathrooms are the size of a small Tokyo apartment. If the Marunouchi business district isn’t large enough to contain your wanderings, you’re in a good place: Train travel is clearly convenient.

Reviews for The Tokyo Station Hotel

TSH Is Tops All Around Especially Guest Services

We are fortunate to travel often now in retirement, including places all over the world, from small boutique hotels to chain convention center hotels. The Tokyo Station Hotel is hands down a cut above every other place we have stayed, especially when it comes to customer service. This is the perfect place to stay before or after a train ride to places such as Kyoto as we did. It is also centrally located to the major sights in Tokyo. The Imperial Palace is a few blocks to the west. Everything else can be reached by subway, train or taxi with ease. Even though we were only staying one night, they treated us like VIPs from the moment I emailed the concierge months before our arrival. As first time visitors to Japan we appreciated their guidance. They purchased the train tickets in advance for a small handling fee. They were sure to reserve the seats in the bullet train with extra luggage space and get us on the Mt. Fuji side of the train each way. While it was cloudy on the way to Kyoto, on the return to Tokyo we had an extended spectacular view of Mt. Fuji, one of the highlights of our trip. They insisted on walking us through the busy gigantic train station and helped with luggage to make sure we knew exactly where to stand for our assigned rail car. The service from any hotel does not get any better. We were impressed with Japan and Tokyo, and this is one major reason why.

It's really a great experience in Japan because of Station Hotel Concierge team's fantastic service and assistance.

I accompanied my 90-year-old mother to Japan to enjoy the cherry blossoms during the Qingming Festival. Fortunately, the cherry blossoms bloomed later this year, and it happened to be the most beautiful days when I arrived. We stayed at the Station Hotel for three days and experienced the unparalleled concierge and hotel service. These services are beyond five-star level. Especially worth recommending is the concierge team. The most attentive and proactive one is Ms. Miyuki Saito. She responded to 10 emails more from me to communicate: she helped us carefully arrange the airport pick-up and drop-off vehicles, and also helped us book 5 restaurants for 3 nights during our stay. Not only that, according to our shopping list, she also enthusiastically helped us search for the names of shopping stores in Tokyo and Google Maps links, so that we could buy what we needed smoothly. When we checked in, she personally pushed our luggage to the room, prepared a map and introduction to the hotel, and thoughtfully printed the restaurant reservation details for our convenience. In addition, the location of the hotel is very good, right above the subway. The interior of the hotel is very warm and the beds are very comfortable. The buffet has more than 200 types, including 100 types of Western and Japanese styles. It is full of variety and tastes good. Worth a try!

Reserve at least 5 months in advance to ensure you are part of THE experience

This is a popular place and not easy to get if you do not do reservations ahead of time. We did three months before and ended adjusting our whole trip and switching to two different rooms during a four night stay to enable our stay here. So worth it! Five star vibe, hotel accommodations with five star customer service and breakfast. Impecable hospitality, bedding, bathrooms, cleanliness, lighting, views, location and body caring products. Exceeds all expectations in every possible way. We are a couple from Puerto Rico celebrating our 10th anniversary and arriving at Tokyo on March 24th- March 28th. The Tokyo Station Hotel experience has made our anniversary trip unforgettable for good. To learn and be part of such an outstanding customer service is truly magical. Thank you thank you thank you!!! Forever grateful to all the wonderful people working at this our of this world place. We enjoyed ourselves and felt the most pampered with actual good humans than we had ever been. So excited to go back in the coming soon rather than later future. Make sure you dont miss out on THE experience. Consider that staying in the city view or any room at the wing closest to the Marounuchi station you will probably overhear the train coming and going noise… nothing unbearable. Also take into consideration that food services end just before 10pm and the same could apply to close restaurants. If you are a foodie and dont want to end up eating just old snacks from home make sure you do the pre-work for places to eat and reserve at least two weeks prior to arriving to Tokyo. Accross the street there are Marounuchi and Shin-Marounuchi buildings with LOTS of good options if you would like to explore out of the hotel restaurants.

You will never want to leave Tokyo Station Hotel

The service was excellent, all hotel employees are eager to help and they all speak english well. The breakfast selection is top notch with Japanese and Western food choices and both were delicious. The location is extremely convient as you can get anywhere quickly from Tokyo Station and contains numerous shops and restaurants itself. Our stay was so great, the day after we left my wife said she felt homesick for The Tokyo Station Hotel!

Over the past 40 years, I have stayed in outstanding hotels around the world. The Tokyo Station Hotel ranks among the best. The accommodations are first rate, as are the staff, services, and location. Don't miss the exceptional breakfast and the Atrium, where it is served.
