Told Lies

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

It’s unfortunate we had such a terrible experience in the Proof Bar because otherwise we would have gone back to this hotel. On top of the bad experience we were lied to by assistant front desk manager Tushar convincing us to stay for dinner and that it would be on the house. It was not. One appetizer and one desert was removed from the bill. Unfortunate and we had much better service and food at the Park Hyatt and will be where we stay next time.

Double charged.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The hotel was nice enough, rooms spacious and well maintained. The down side is they changed me twice for our 3 night stay. Holding CAD2204 on my card then charged me CAD1904 when we checked out. I have been unable to retrieve my CAD2204 held on my card. This was our first holiday to Canada. Although the holiday itself was incredible dealing with the hotel has certainly put a spoiler on the holiday. Be extra careful when staying at this hotel with regards to charges to your card. It’s now 5 weeks since we checked out and still haven’t received my money.

Disappointing stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Overall experience was not great. The management staff very nice and professional. However, my checkin was meet with a team member that was not warm and pleasant. Guests are tired upon arrival and she was rigid with no costumer sense. Pretty run down hotel. The lobby chairs were pretty dirty and the room smelled of mildew. The overall cleanliness was poor. The restaurant staff were not welcoming and I left. You can be a four star and still pay more attention to details. The carpet in the room was dirty and there were no slippers. I was grossed out not wearing shoes…. I was tempted to change hotel but I was only there for two nights.

A really enjoyable and memorable stay

We booked this hotel at short notice due to problems at another hotel in Toronto. This is a superb hotel. Very stylish and classy and in a great area of the city,. The staff are well trained and the rooms were immaculate. Housekeeping is great and did a fantastic job. We loved the leisure facilities with views of the CN Tower. While there were some issues with breakfast on day 2, management took the necessary steps to resolve this issue. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again soon.

Good but lacks a little atmosphere

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We booked this hotel for 4 nights as it offers decent family suites and we wanted the space. The main room was absolutely great, and the living area/sofa bed was also decent, although the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The main bathroom was excellent. The location is good and has good access to the underground. Whilst we enjoyed this hotel, it lacks a little atmosphere and the staff could be a little warmer. We asked for a room with a view which was not accommodated - although the hotel did not appear to be booked out and we had paid for a suite. Instead I was offered to upgrade to a more expensive room
