Let's start with finding frenchmans was an adventure and a kind amazing woman flagged us down to get us on the right path. The path into it is amazing. The landscape and beauty is stunning. The quiet and secluded of it I wouldn't trade. The villas are beautiful. Please note- this is an island. The main living area are not air conditioned but the bedrooms are. When you have the windows and sliding doors open the ocean breeze is amazing. I'm amazed at the complaints about it- when you travel to most island and stay - this is the set up. This is not a mega resort hotel. We were upgraded to a two bedroom villa. It was beautiful. There were 3 balconies on total off both bedrooms and the living/kitchen. The bedrooms were very nice with comfortable beds, and both had a/c and ceiling fans. The bathrooms were very new and updated. Peter is so sweet and helpful. He had many suggestions of where to go and where to skip. He gave us a map and snorkel equipment one day and sent us off. The views there are so hard to describe but the water was perfect. There is a little area to swim or go around the corner and jump in and the snorkeling was amazing. So many colorful and beautiful fish. For a very small fee they will grocery shop for you ahead of time. If not there are several places within a few min drive. They even had a cake and balloons and champagne set up for our arrival for my SO Birthday. It was a lime cake and it was fantastic. The grounds are beautiful the villas are perfect. Soopers Hole Marina is just down the road a day catamaran trip, for eating out and/or grocery shopping ---or RoadTown is about 10 mins away. I would say if you need to get away from it all - this is your place.

This villa style resort located on West End was just the relaxing vacation we needed. Peter and his staff were wonderful hosts and made us feel as if we were the only ones staying at the resort. Each day starts with a breathtaking sun rise over the ocean that we were able to see from our balcony and then enjoyed a tasty breakfast while sitting at their open-air dinner room overlooking the ocean. Peter and his staff took the extra time to coordinate anything that we needed and they offer snorkel gear that was so handy for our trip to the Baths. The resort is secluded just enough to slow down the heart rate while centrally located to easily visit all of the unique Tortola spots. When you arrive, be sure to have the staff rent a car for you. They will arrange to have the car dropped off at the resort. It's that easy,

Reviews on Trip Advisor helped us choose this fairly unknown resort with confidence, but the reviews, and and photos (although good) did not do it justice. We arrived after dark and enjoyed an amazing dinner cooked with care by Chef Prince and returned to our villa where we sat on the porch in our comfy swings and looked out at the stars feeling the breeze and listening to the waves. The next morning we awoke to sunshine and after a delicious breakfast that is included, we explored the small resort and our jaw dropped and we clicked pictures at every turn. It is truly a paradise, with so many options in a small resort for enjoying the sunshine or shade, water, snorkeling, and lounging. Lots of photo opportunities and close to a cute village with sailing trips. The staff really makes this resort more special and so intimate and personal. Peter Roy the manager was attentive, knowledgeable, kind and fun. We loved spending time with him chatting on the patio. Chef Prince smile was only outdone by his cooking. He even chopped down a coconut and opened it for us to drink! The service staff and reception were also very kind, friendly and knowledgeable. The pre-booking experience was very personal and helpful and they arranged all taxi's for me (ask for the driver Mr. T!) We truly loved this resort and we have traveled the world. My husband and I would highly recommend from the rooms to the views to the staff to the food. Next time we will arrive into St. Thomas and take the Ferry to the dock located by Frenchmans. The taxi ride is very long from the main port, and also to the airport on Beef Island. St. Thomas seems a better choice and is actually quicker and more reasonable to fly into from Atlanta.

Frenchmans is a small place on a pretty beach within walking distance of Soper's Hole. We stayed for three nights prior to a sailing charter and were delighted. The place isn't fancy, but the beach is pretty, one can snorkel or kayak from the beach, the rooms are comfortable with nice views of the water, and the food is excellent. The biggest plus, though, is the staff: The staff to a person are well-trained, friendly, and cheerful. They take their cue from Peter, the manager, who went out of his way to make us feel at home and welcomed. For a low key, quiet and relaxing few days in a beautiful spot, Frenchmans was perfect. We will be back.

We can't wait to go back. My wife and I recently spent the last four days of our honeymoon at Frenchman's on the western end of Tortola and it far surpassed our rather high expectations. The property is truly stunning and well maintained. Peter, the property manager, has done a tremendous job and he makes himself readily available to the guests. He's established a very warm and inviting atmosphere and he spends time getting to know the guests. He even drove us to the nearby town and to the ferry. Rehanna at the front desk is truly delightful and was very helpful in arranging our visit and in ensuring we had all we need once we arrived. The food is tremendous and Prince is truly a gifted chef. I definitely recommend having dinner at the restaurant multiple times and make sure to request the lobster is available. Also, the complimentary breakfast is very generous. We stayed in the 1-bedroom Guava villa, which was gorgeous, immaculately clean, comfortable, and very up to date. it is also one of the more private villas. The balcony has a stunning view of the lagoon and ample comfortable seating. Only the bedroom is air conditioned, but the living area was quite comfortable with the use of ceiling fans and because of the breeze. The almost constant breeze made all the difference at the beach and in the restaurant, so that you barely feel the humidity. The beach area is small, but there are only nine villas, so there is plenty of room for the guests. They offer comfortable lounge chairs with shade at several locations on the beach. And the diving pelicans provided us with endless entertainment. Soper's Hole, a small, quaint town with several shops and a well-stocked grocery store (which we recommend to stock your kitchen) is only a 10-minute walk away. And the ferry dock is just a little further. And to our great surprise and delight, there were hardly any mosquitoes on the property. They clearly make a concerted effort to keep the mosquitoes away. Thank you, Peter, Prince and the rest of the staff for making our honeymoon so memorable. We hope to stay with you again in the near future.
