We returned last week after four nights at Frenchmans Cay. What a great resort! It is all is claims – a boutique resort with great personal service and comfortable modern villas. The staff sent a taxi to greet us and knew who we were then entire stay. There are few resorts on the island and this one is above the rest. Upon arrival, we asked to upgrade from a single bedroom to a double because of a family member coming to stay with us during our stay and we wanted A/C for her. We were quickly accommodated and very pleased with our two bedroom villa. The bathrooms are quite nice with luxury toiletries, local to the island. Housekeeping was outstanding, and each villa included personalized footbaths outside the door, complete with fresh flowers floating in them each day. We had also fresh flowers in each room each day. Peter, the Manager of the property, introduced himself to us on our first morning at breakfast and gave us a map of the island with his personal recommendations of all the places to go for great beaches, restaurants and views. Frenchmans also arranged a rental car for us to be waiting at the resort. Each time we came to the restaurant/guest service desk, we were greeted by name. During our stay, I realized that we didn't have an oven in our villa and asked if the restaurant could bake our brownies we hoped to have. Peter and the Frenchmans team quickly agreed. I brought the batter to the kitchen, the chef cooked it and it was waiting for me later in the day. And, on our last day, Peter, himself, drove us to the Ferry. Little touches like these were present throughout our visit and made for a very relaxing, yet luxurious trip. The restaurant/bar area is very laid back and comfortable; music playing (jazz type music, not throbbing disco), and a personal bartender each day. We got to visit with other guests and enjoyed getting to know each of them. The beach is small, but has great shade and snorkeling around the rocks; gear is free along with kayaks. We really enjoyed checking out the tide pools too. The beach was raked each day, leaving the opportunity to leave your footprints in the sand to a sunny or shady spot! This resort is less than 5 minutes from Soper's Hole, which has restaurants and a grocery store; yet, it is private with amazing views! It is about 30 minutes from Road Town where the larger grocery store and larger restaurants are located. My only challenge was that the common areas of our villa were not air conditioned (note: the bedrooms were fantastic!). When you are not hustling about, this isn't an issue. However, when getting settled, and when cooking, it is quite warm. Nonetheless, I wouldn't discount the resort for that and would be thrilled to stay here again. Thank you, Peter and team, for making our visit so enjoyable and memorable! We hope to return soon!

Frenchman's was wonderful! Our 2 bedroom villa had to beautiful balconies overlooking the Sir Francis Drake Channel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms were up to date, large and very clean. We loved that we could walk to a complimentary breakfast each morning. Staff was exceptionally nice. We would definitely stay here again!

I admit I was grumpy when I arrived, in the dark, after 20+ hours traveling, door to door from England, culminating in a taxi driver who probably never gets any speeding fines. Peter is a great host with a wealth of island knowledge and the first couple of days were spent chilling at the resort, lunching at Sopers Hole and snorkelling off the man made lagoon. The fish life and coral are spectacular and well worth a visit. Another great holiday highlight was watching the pelicans fishing - hurling themselves into the water with a big splash. The staff at the hotel were all wonderful, helpful and always cheerful - the cook giving us a bag of rice for a damp phone accompanied with his freshly baked rolls that were almost too hot to hold. Evening meals were excellent with the Mahi Mahi and the Tuna steaks a highlight for me. The villa was large, bedrooms very cool with the AC and the kitchen very well equipped - fresh coffee and prosecco in the fridge. I would love to return.

I am not a beach person; however, last year I wanted to spend my birthday relaxing by the beach. My husband told me to plan the trip and based on the reviews, I decided to book my stay at Frenchmans. The place is a piece of heaven on earth. Everything I wanted and more was available there! a very spacious room with ocean view, a wonderful and comfortable bed, a beautiful sunrise, an even more incredible sunset, and the water... crystal and clear! their staff were very helpful and made everything in their power to make our stay romantic and memorable. This place definitely didnt disappoint and I am looking forward coming back again.

The resort is on the most beautiful spot on the island. Truly!!! The villas are lovely. Ours had not one, but two decks overlooking the water. It was breathtaking! Lots of great details in the decor (island, but not cliche), very clean, updated. The set-up was perfect for our family of 5. The little strip of beach and the pool area have modern, boutique-hotelish lounge chairs and a great vibe. It's got the makings for the perfect hideaway in paradise. For us though, the service fell short. We were there Christmas week and Lou, our server for breakfast most days was TOP NOTCH! She had great tips about the island, awesome, personal service. We loved her. The front desk staff, while nice, weren't really on the ball and never seemed to remember us, nor were they very helpful. The worst part for us, was that the restaurant didn't serve carribbean food. I just figured that they would have upscale carribbean, but instead it's just a random mix of foods from around the world. Meh. This place has SO much potential to be a destination restaurant on the island but it just didn't cut it for us. It needs to have a point of view. Despite the setbacks, we still loved Frenchmans and are already booked for xmas week 2017.
