About the Hotel

From the moment you arrive at the marina, a 20-minute boat ride from neighboring Tortola Island, it’s clear Peter Island Resort & Spa is no typical beach holiday. Guests have access to the entire 1,800-acre island, of which only 300 acres are developed. Hike through untouched forests or take to the sea with a chartered boat. Beachfront suites and spectacular hillside villas provide access to secluded stretches of sand that were once home to the Caribbean's most colorful characters, from Christopher Columbus to the pirate Blackbeard.

AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE at Peter Island Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

If I could give them 10 stars I would....we just returned from Spring Break at Peter Island with another family. The resort is AMAZING- beautiful, clean, relaxing, spacious. The pictures don't even do it justice. The service was a 10/10. Everyone operates on island time in the BVIs, but they went above and beyond to make all of our wishes a reality. They even offered to set up a TV in the conference center for my husband to watch March Madness. Everyone on the island knows each other and works together to make your experience enjoyable. Vera, Chanel, Mama Jean, Stacy, Rock, Ron, Ramon....they were all wonderful! Our experience at the spa was second to none. The massage I had was among the top 5 massages in my 45 years. I really cannot say enough good things about this magical place. We don't often return to resorts, but this one will be on repeat for years to come.

My Favorite Private Island Resort - Peter Island is hard to beat with 5+ star service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I had been to Peter Island maybe 15+ years ago when our kids were young and it was FANTASTIC. I was super sad when the resort was decimated by two hurricanes. It just reopened after being rebuilt this past fall and I'm happy to report that it's BACK and better than ever. First a shout out to ALL the incredible staff (from chefs Albert and Milton who heard that we wanted sushi and made us a super sushi meal for our last night totally off menu) who went above and beyond at every level - every manager, staff member, cart driver was friendly and eager to help. Any time there was a minor snafu, they were happy to take feedback and make it right which we all appreciated. Nicolette was fantastic at breakfast and Annie for dinner was very helpful at the Pelican. The Spa is BEYOND - my friend and I had the best massage I've ever had from Gaetane (also a facial - OMG- I think it changed my life) - I'd come back just to see her again and get another massage and the spa which is gorgeous and has a dedicated weight room and next door a dedicated aerobic equipment room overlooking a beautiful cliff. We used the gym EVERY DAY so thank you for that - great to keep in shape. Speaking of keeping in shape, my friends and I hiked the 5 mile VERY uphill sunset loop every single day - even at 10pm the first night we got here in the pitch black since they provide rechargeable flashlights. if you are an athlete, don't miss at as it was sublime at night and except for the goats, you have nothing to fear. We loved the sunset champagne and cheese -we used the free champagne from when we arrived which was also NOT crap champagne but Veuve Cliquot yellow label, a nice gesture. We loved that the mini bar is FREE - I hate being nickel and dimed - -you can have as much water/soda/beer, etc... and potato chips. One suggestion would be to provide a few healthy snacks like nuts or whatever besides chips. Speaking of health, I would DITCH all the Fiji plastic water bottles and provide guests with a Peter Island Water bottle - I felt terrible going through dozens of plastic bottles to stay hydrated. Final request - I'd focus more on light and healthy food (sushi, smoothies, light breakfast options, light dinner options, more veggie forward, more grains, more "bowls" like quinoa/veggie) -the last thing I really want on an island is a STEAK restaurant even though it was very good and one of our group did have the A5 Wagyu steak which was excellent. Beaches are all gorgeous, I loved our Beach front room with hot tub (we used it every night) - rooms 302/303 were right on the beach and fantastic - AC works great, fan as well, and when I asked for down pillows, they brought me some. Loved the nice touches like a turn down treat every night on the pillow. We took advantage of White bay beach, the other beach down the shore from deadman's - you can't go wrong. In sum, we had the best time during our 6 day stay. The two pools, beach store, snorkeling equipment, service and food are all exceptional. I don't usually like to go back to the same place, but I would definitely come back to Peter Island. Kudos to the hard working staff and managers for making our stay so special.

Exceptional!

By far, one of the best resort experiences we have had ever. The atmosphere was very comfortable. You were constantly catered to, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Again, a very upscale resort, yet felt very relaxed the entire time. The food was exceptional. I have celiac disease and the chef came to personally speak with me as well as a couple managers to make sure I felt comfortable and safe anywhere I wanted to eat on the resort which was above and beyond my expectations. The room was wonderful; Classy, clean, comfortable, especially the king bed mattress. We cannot wait to come back to peter Island resort!

New Peter Island has never been better and the welcome is joyous

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Truly thrilled to return to Peter Island and was not disappointed. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional and personalised every detail remembering my favourite wine, that I don't eat bread, my preference for ice etc. I didn't get to eat at The Drunken Pelican on this trip but I surely will on my return. Drakes steakhouse was infallible. Every bite was delectable from the tuna tartare, shrimp and lobster cocktail, filet of beef and the best wahoo I have ever eaten (after 15 years of living in The Caribbean, I have eaten a lot of Wahoo). The jacuzzi on my deck, just a step to the sand and sea was a treat. With all the suites now on the beach, one wakes up to such a stunning view that I slept with my curtains open. Nothing was too much trouble, I was so sad to leave and I can't wait to return.
