Stay last week.... Many things to praise ... very helpful reception employees, with patience and efficiency! Very nice and clean, to details, rooms. They are Especially careful if you have special needs like we had. (We noted that because of allergies to humidity, dust , smells, smokes etc , we wanted a renovated and a very well preserved room, even with no carpet. They secure them all and further beyond!). Breakfast area very pleasant, breakfast variety "narrow", they should have more cheese choices and some salmon or soup if possible. Breakfast's waiters need to be a bit more smiling.... and to have some music background to start pleasantly the morning (possibly classical, Vivaldi ..) The prices in bar are very reasonable. Probably the lowest that we had in Italy. The location of the resort is exceptional. Walking distance from everything interesting and had to be visited. For sure we'll try to return soon.

We stayed 4 nights as delegates at a conference hosted by the hotel . The location of the hotel is superb although the sea views are only available to suites not standard rooms . The room was very comfortable and quiet and the breakfast options were extensive . It seems churlish to have any complaint after such a lovely stay but I was surprised that a hotel if this calibre serves very inferior coffee for breakfast which is obtained from a self service urn . Trieste is the home of Illy coffee and I would have expected better . A cafetière on my breakfast table would have seemed more appropriate to the setting . Small gym is well equipped and the front desk staff very helpful and pleasant . The city itself far exceeded expectations .

Location excellent, worth paying for room with Adriatic view (partly spoilt when huge cruise ships docked). Room 164 on first floor has huge balcony, it's a small suite including kitchen, Illy espresso machine, kettle, fridge & microwave. Cooker but no utensils. Not all electric sockets worked. Parquet floor. Bathroom lovely apart from smallish plastic bath, and over-bath shower. Bed a proper king size (not two singles), pillows a little flat perhaps should have tried pillow menu. Breakfast good but not the greatest range. Good bar but not always staffed. Internet free but needs re-registration every 24 hours. Conference facilities good. Easy walking distance of all that the city has to offer. There are few guide books on Trieste; read Jan Morris' haunting book instead to understand this extraordinary city (the hotel was British HQ in 1945). There is a copy in the hotel's eclectic library, or can be purchased at Miramare.

We stayed for one pre-cruise night in August. After reviewing a few hotels in Trieste on TripAdvisor, we decided to pay a bit extra for the luxury and convenience of this hotel. It was a good decision. On our way to breakfast we stood on the hotel entrance steps entranced at the unexpected jaw-dropping view. Directly across the road was the bow of our cruise ship, Queen Victoria. When checking out of the hotel and checking in for the cruise, it was just under 30 minutes from closing the hotel room door, walking to the terminal and to opening the stateroom door on the ship. That is what I call convenient. The hotel is also excellently located for exploring the delightful city of the Trieste. The hotel room, bed and bathroom matched or exceeded our expectations based on the TripAdvisor reviews - spacious, clean, comfortable, well-equipped and with the nice extras of quality toiletries, dressing gowns and slippers. The room looked onto a small central courtyard. (I was advised that all rooms at the front of the hotel are suites that command a significant premium.) The included buffet breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. We booked the room several months in advance. Not surprisingly, the hotel was full for the pre-cruise night.
