This hotel is very nice, has a good location, and is close to restaurants. Breakfasts is very good and is included. Overall it is worth the extra dollars. The hotels sits one block from the walkway for pedestrians.

Five nights at the Savoia Trieste was a highlight of our Hapsburg tour. Our balcony room looked across the beautiful bay of Trieste to the Miramare, the delightful home of the late Maximilian of Mexico. The hotel was restful with first class service in all areas. The hotel refurbishment has been a great success, maintaining the character of 1912. The location is brilliant for promenading to the Audace and to the Unita piazza and for boarding the superb coastal ferries. The train station is only 10 minutes and was ideal for a splendid day trip to Venice. Trieste has the style of Vienna combined with the warmth, friendliness and cuisine of Italy. Trieste has an excellent variety of restaurants at very reasonable prices. The Cretaceous Trieste Komen karst plateau has some fascinating geology to explore. The local ice creams are cool !

Our hotel room was beautiful and big for a European hotel. Was one of the best we stayed in in Italy. It had a very comfortable bed, great bathroom/shower. Located about 1/2 mile from the train/bus station so it is an easy walk if the weather is good. In addition, it is centrally location to many sights and restaurants. Breakfast is average, but a good selection. We had an issue at the boarder that could have been handled better, but when discussed with the manager, his response and reaction was appropriate. This is the first iPreferred Hotel that we have stayed at and must say that I was very impressed and will consider staying at another in the near future. Highly recommend.

The hotel is picturesque and appears up front to be something from back in the days, and for sure it is an old prominent building facing the seaside. We where very well received, valet parking and the room tip top. The room was very clean and well maintained. AC worked properly. We hade a Jr suite with a magnificent view. Lucy or not we got tangled up in the Balkans summit, dozens of VIP staying at the hotel, due to the hotels very professional staff we as hotels guests escaped most of the security hazel. The breakfast is fine not more, I would expect not to pay for the menu, the standard is not really worth a five star hotel, but then I guess Italian breakfast with boiled bacon and mostly sweets for breakfasts is the Italian thing. In addition when booking a Jr suite I expect the minibar to be included. The gym is adequate, however do not spend time there enjoy a run along the seaside. The city center is nice cosy and safe. For sure a stay at this hotel and Trieste is worth while. Next time we will take the boat ride ( day trip) along the coast to and from Trieste. Italy is Italy.

Right from check-in ( 3 hours before official check in time) We were overwhelmed by the degree which the staff go to make our stay pleasant. It is a huge period hotel right on the waterfront. Room was large and well furnished, AC worked well. Breakfast was nice, Espresso coffee available. The second morning we sat down to breakfast and glanced out the front window, and not much more than 100 metres in front of the hotel was a giant Costa ?? cruise ship. Quite spectacular. Trieste in not on the normal tourist tracks but our 2 days were well enjoyed. If you go don't miss the great EATIALY A few hundred metres left from the hotel front. It has retail stores, Coffee shops and Restaurants I The Cappuccino was the best we have had since leaving Melbourne. We Australians have a reputation for not tipping. We are unused to the concept as it is unusual at home, but I left 10 euroes with reception for the staff.
