Savoia Excelsior Palace

Horrible hotel. The rooms are dirty and the rugs are all stained. This is a false advertisement in the photos. Do not book this hotel, you will be very disappointed.

Had a lovely, relaxing time at this hotel. Right in the centre, by the main square, overlooking the harbour. All the public rooms are spacious and elegant. The staff are welcoming and helpful. I had a room at the back of the hotel which was large, well appointed and quiet. It was spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were the best, great selection and attentive staff. I have 2 evening meals in the restaurant, both were delicious and the service was excellent. The atmosphere in the bar was friendly and relaxing with efficient and friendly staff. The concierge service was great, gave really good advice about what to see in Trieste and local ferries. A daily ferry goes to Miramir, which has a wonderful garden and castle to visit. Really enjoyed my time in Trieste at this wonderful hotel.

We booked a junior suite and arrived very late due to a delayed flight. On entering the room the carpet was covered in the most horrible stains which were very off putting. I have to say the rest of the room and hotel was good but with such a stained carpet it did put a major spoiler on our stay. I did mention it at reception but got the impression that they did not regard it as a big thing. If we had arrived at an earlier time I would have refused to stay in the room.

Very good hotel, staff professional and friendly. View from balcony unfortunately disturbed by large cruiser. Among the staff especially outstanding was the concierge Giulio, helping by any question or problem. Will go there again next time in Trieste.

From our first email, Giulio was exceptionally helpful, and made great suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants, and excursions to Slovenia. In person, Giulio is smart, attentive, and amusing. It was a pleasure to plan out each day's activities. The hotel is lovely, and perfectly located on the waterfront.
