The rooms are really nice. The front desk provided a very warm welcome. Every staff member I encountered was very nice and helpful. I absolutely love the comfort of the beds. I slept like a baby lol. Hotel is located in a very good area. lots of shopping and dining nearby

Very very average, not a great value, comfortable bed and A/C

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 months ago

very basic and average or below average room. No closet, just a small little hanging rack, and 3 drawer dresser. Small room. no storage space. AC and Heat worked well. bed was pretty comfortable, but almost no sheets are given. towels are scratchy. no room service despite it being advertised. i requested water bottles to be waiting for me in my room upon arrival and they WERE NOT THERE. night staff was not very friendly. i would most likely not stay here again. not a great value for what it costs. stop using covid/staffing excuse to provide lower quality service.

Perfect little hotel !

Great hotel beside the Somerset Collection mall. Very clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff. It has a fitness centre and cute little courtyard. It’s not a high end hotel brand so the prices are reasonable. I’ve have no idea why anyone would rate it below 5 star given the price point. It’s perfect for a couple of nights in Troy to shop and enjoy the many delicious restaurants the area has to offer.

Nicest Staff Ever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 months ago

The nicest staff on the planet work at the Somerset Inn. We are part of a figure skating club in the Northeast and we stayed at the Somerset Inn while competing in a national championship at a nearby ice arena. We’re talking about a hundred kids and their parents, not to mention coaches. Everyone’s nervous, exhausted from traveling, and the parents are juggling working from a hotel for a week. The staff at the Somerset Inn took care of us not just like family, but like that favorite cousin you’re excited to see at the reunion. I’ve traveled all over the world for work and fun, and it was some of the best service I’ve ever had. The best part was the last night—the teams had medaled and were coming back on the bus late at night, maybe 10.30pm. All the families were waiting in the lobby to give them a hero’s welcome and it was LOUD—lots of cheering and clapping. I looked back at the front desk, nervous that they might want to shush us bc even though we had taken over most of the hotel, there were other guests and it would have been understandable. The staff were smiling away, laughing and looking as proud as the parents. It was the sweetest thing and made an already great moment that much better to see them share it with us. We all went home the next day and when I woke up in my own bed for the first time in a week, I got a text from one of the other moms saying “I already miss the mini muffins.” Love love love the team at Somerset Inn (and their mini muffins).

Wonderful experience at Somerset Inn

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed April 27, 2023

My recent stay at the Somerset Inn was a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The people I interacted with throughout my week-long stay are all courteous and accommodating, from the front desk to the restaurant. My room was in a convenient location, it was clean, and the bed and seating very comfortable. Meals in the restaurant were wonderful...in the morning it is so relaxing to sit at a table and have coffee and a lovely (full) breakfast. The manager, Duane, went out of his way to introduce himself to me and ensure that I was enjoying my stay. I will absolutely stay here when I am in Troy/Detroit area for business next!
