Stayed here 4 nights for a special occasion. The manager, Natacha, was an excellent lady who was very helpful. She met us on arrival and caught up with us at breakfast each day and also when we departed. We were given an upgrade to a private pool villa and it was excellent. The decor is slightly older rather than modern but it fits in with the whole place. The rooms were very well appointed and we had a welcome bottle of wine and fruit and we also had cake delivered on my birthday as well!! The heated pool was nice and our room 108, had sun more in the afternoon than the morning. The grounds of the room was also really well maintained and we saw lots of birds in the trees and drinking from our pool along with butterflies and lizards/geckos in the evening and bats flying overhead at dusk. The beach is quite small and there is a general pool and a adults only pool(which is at the south end of the resort) but all areas had attendants and towels were easily accessible and you had fresh cold water and chilled fruit offered throughout the day. The boathouse was also very busy with renting out non motorised things like kayaks and pedalos which are free to guests. We had breakfast included which was excellent with plenty of choices and lots of local options as well as Indian options you would expect from Oberoi. Service was excellent. There was a good spread of self service cold items and a couple of hot items and everything else was ala carte menu. We had dinner at On the Rocks and Gun Powder room. Both excellent and the Gun Powder room is the best. Book early since both need advance reservations since they are only open a few days each week and Gun Powder room is very exclusive with minimal amount seating. Did not get to try the Herb Garden since we were not there on the day it was open. Everyone goes out of the way to help. Since our flight was later in the evening, we had to check out and the team were happy for us to use the facilities till we departed. When it rained heavily, we moved from the beach to the bar area and ordered some coffees and they gave us some hot Indian snacks to go with the coffee and when I went to pay for them, they refused and said both were complimentary since we had checked out already and had nowhere to go. They also arranged for us to have showers at the Spa before we left later in the evening. Overall it was an absolute delight to stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. Great place with great staff, led by a very good manager.

Nice resort. From a vegetation standpoint i believe it might be the best in Mauritius (we have been to one & only and Lux Lemorne). It is very very well maintained, really amazing. I personally didnt like the food experience neither for breakfast nor for dinner. I also personally believe that the value for money is not there compared to the international standards.

Where to start - we had the most fabulous 2 week holiday at the Oberoi Mauritius. The villas are set in beautiful, subtropical gardens which are beautifully tended and full of interesting birds. The grounds are so extensive that you feel they are your own garden and the villas placed in such a way that there is a real feeling of privacy. The villas are luxurious - large with huge four poster bed, sitting area, "dressing" room and fab bathroom with sunken bath and large shower. You have your own terrace with sun loungers and eating area with views over the ocean. There are two lovely pools overlooking the tranquil beaches. If you're lounging on the beach or by the pool, you get a tray with iced water, tropical fruit, iced flannels - such a nice touch. Food at all the restaurants is really good - and a great introduction to Mauritian food - mixture of Indian, Creole and French. The service is second to none - it would be wrong to single out any one member of staff - everyone was friendly, helpful, professional without making you feel awkward - in fact they all made you feel special. The holiday was to celebrate a big birthday and my retirement - I couldn't have wished for a better way to celebrate - thank you so much
