The Oberoi, Mauritius

This was our first time in Mauritius and The Oberoi Beach Resort made it truly special. My husband and I also celebrated our anniversary there. We could not fault the service. The staff were excellent throughout, the food was amazing, the gardens immaculate and the views beautiful. Excellent gym facilities, friendly and helpful boat house staff, a lovely boutique shop and great spa facilities. A special thank you to Natasha and her team who made my son's birthday so special, full of laughter and joy, and who also made our anniversary so memorable. Many thanks for that. We did have an issue with another company in Mauritius, which was nothing to do with The Oberoi, but the staff took it upon themselves to find out what had happened, advised us and comforted us as a family. The next morning Natasha, the Hotel Manager, came to find us at breakfast herself to check on us. There was a genuine concern for guests which is a rare quality. I would definitely recommend staying at The Oberoi Mauritius.

We spent 12 nights here in an ocean view room at the start of September. Aim was to have complete rest and relaxation while celebrating an upcoming anniversary. This was exactly the place to go. Quiet luxury, delicious food (best we tried on island) and wonderful staff there to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Plenty to do and see on the Island, even when weather became changeable for a day or so. North of Island was the better location. Take advantage of the various activities. Hiring a car to drive south proved very simple. A issue with our room was resolved quickly and well. Other reviews have noted about the beach area, but we didnt find this of particular issue and a short walk further up the beach provides ample sand for discovery.

Great hotel, amazing experience and everything felt so perfect. Me and my husband loved our stay there. We were offered complementary wine, champagne and a birthday cake to celebrate my husband birthday and our room was nicely decorated. The hotel organised a nice sunset cocktail which we enjoyed so much. The food was great and really tasty. A fine dining experience. The room gave a nice seafront view and the heated pool made a huge difference as we were able to really enjoy the pool during winter. Overall it was an amazing stay.

I have been going to the Oberoi consistently for the past 3 years and it’s one of the only places that stays constant, in there standards, quality of food and the professionalism of their staff. It’s always a seem less experience, everything is thought of for you and you can just show up and relax. As always I will be back.

Best location, best view, best hospitality team, best rooms, best meals - just best luxury experience you can find in Mauritius! We just celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Oberoi (also got married there) and the service was just as good this time around - goes to show how intentional the staff is to ensure each customer has a quality and special experience. We hope to make this an annual ritual! :) Big thanks to the entire Oberoi team (From senior management to floor staff) - you guys are the best!
