This place! I can’t recommend it enough. We have stayed at dozens of high end hotels and resorts, but this was above and beyond. Their level of service is unparalleled! If you’re looking for the ultimate pampering and personalized service, this is the place to go. They will make you feel like the most special group/person on the island. Also, they have a great gym if you’re looking to squeeze in some fitness time. It’s not to be overlooked if you’re spending time in Bali. There’s no need to leave the resort, but when you do, there’s an easily available shuttle to take you into and pick you up from town. Their private tours are customizable and so special. Worth every penny. Will be counting down the days until we stay here again.

Wow, just wow. From the moment we arrived this is true 5 star. The Viceroy is in walking distance of Ubud centre (1.5 miles) and is perched on the edge of a spectacular valley. This gives it a really airy feeling and incredible views. The hotel itself has a luxurious feel to it and a sweeping entrance and reception area which opens out onto a beautiful pool, immaculate grounds and the restaurant and bar. The rooms are all built into the hillside. We had room 26 which is on the top level so did not require too much walking, there are good paths but it is steep and would be a good walk to lower rooms. However they have thought of everything. There is a free and regular shuttle into Ubud and golf buggies will pick guests up in the hotel to transport those who don’t want to walk up and down from the pool, restaurant or reception. The staff are excellent and prices reasonable in the Cascades restaurant and food is good quality. Breakfast is a mix of buffet choices (plentiful and excellent quality) as well as cooked choices done while you wait. We loved our room and private pool. High quality, spacious and very comfortable. The main pool is also excellent but it could do with some shallower steps to get in and out as it is a very high step. The hotel arranged a private tour for us at our request and their own drivers provide this. We only wanted a half day and our driver, Gama, was perfect. We felt very looked after, learnt loads about Bali and the culture and although we packed a lot into our half day it felt relaxed and very enjoyable. We felt the. Overly offered great value for this service and can highly recommend. On site there is a Michelin star restaurant called Aperitif. We booked for their taster meal there complete with wine flight. The decor is 1920s in style with a very cool bar area. The quality and customer service was excellent and despite having our airline lose our luggage so very limited in our clothes, we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. It was particularly nice to see the owner daily as she walks the grounds and we had a brief chat with her - another lovely experience and you can tell this is a hotel which cares about guests and staff. Despite previous reviews about the gym, when we stayed it looks like it has now moved to a great space. It’s very well equipped, good air con and touches such as chilled water and a Bose Bluetooth speaker so you can play your own music. Overall we were very very impressed and can highly recommend the Viceroy. We will definitely be returning

Simply the best in every way. The staff really make this place a truly amazing experience. The rooms are great. We loved the private infinity pool. Food and cocktails were great. Aperitif is a must for the culinary experience. The cocktails there are superb. We liked the Novelist and the Tramp the best.

Fantastic experience, lovely rooms, beautiful scenery. Staff so attentive. Room was spotless and cleaned twice a day. All mod cons. We had dinner at Apertif and although expensive for Bali it is definitely worth it. Food and experience is amazing my wife loved it. The Bar/Cigar lounge set in 1930’s style is truely amazing. Only negative lots of steep hills/steps so not ideal if you cannot walk, although they have a buggy. Good place to escape hustle and bustle of Ubud, Seminyak etc. As a small luxury hotel it definitely ticks all the boxes. We will be coming back. Only negative is the steep hills if you are unable to walk but then they have buggy.

This was my third time at Viceroy and I love to come back here every time. The location with its main pool right in the jungle is just stunning. I like this hotel because it has a very European feeling to it instead of classical Indonesian. The connected restaurant Aperitif offers the best dining experience I have ever had in the world and also the Pinstripe bar is incredible!
