Situated across the lake from the City Palace but still within a comfortable 10-15 minute walk through a quaint part of town. The property is superb, the views of the City Palace both during the day and at night we’re sensational. The amenities, quality of service, really comfortable bed and the food. The quality of the food deserves a special mention because it was very good. We had our best meal in India at Sheesh Mahal restaurant. The staff were all extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. Highly recommended.

We spent three nights at the Leela Palace. The hotels was excellent although we had a couple of problems.....toilet wouldn't flush...took 3 visits to get it repaired. Rooms were great, service was excellent. We were traveling on a Micato tour...and their representative called to let the hotel know they were not pleased their client had a problem at the hotel. As a result, the hotel offered to move us to a larger suite. We declined rather than move since we only had one more night. All in all the hotel was excellent...more importantly...if you're traveling in India.. use Micato for your tour. This hotel is on the lake and they send a boat to pick you up and drop you off.. nice touch.

The dream starts on the boat crossing the lake Pichola - the City Palace, the Lake Palace, the Jalmahal... Big emotion on our arrival: music, flowers and the staff in beautiful dresses. Amrita guided us to the very nicely decorated room with a fantastic view on the lake and the City Palace. Inside, our Butler Vishal was waiting for us with fresh drinks, fruits and cookies. All our stay was marked every day by special attentions as a birthday cake, small gifts, surprises and kindness. We had the best table in the Sheesh Mahal, an open-air fine-dining Indian restaurant, overlooking the lake. We felt very special! Service was extraordinary and surroundings breathtaking. Food was excellent, the swinngpool wonderful and there is a nice Spa. Beautiful view on the lake overall. As a big ceremony was organized , we had a suite for our last night in a quiet part of the hotel and a special dinner for us at the pool, so romantic ! as the restaurant was used for the wedding guests. We were considered like very important persons and everybody was so nice! We never will forget the 3 days spent in the Leela Palace. We are so grateful! Thanks and Namaste to Narendra Singh, Amrita, Vishal, Ashish, Lily, Keshav and everybody who makes us so happy during our stay.

This is an exceptionally luxurious hotel with outstanding levels of personal service including a butler service. From the approach by launch (no car access) to the reception committee on quayside, one is wafted through impressive public areas of stunning individual design to a lake view room with embroidered linen sheets and feather pillows (total comfort and bliss). The spa provided instant services and the 34 metre pool with quiet shade areas was spacious and most relaxing. One of the best managed luxury hotels we have ever stayed at worldwide and a treat not to be missed if staying in Udaipur!
