From the moment we arrived, we were amazed - From the boat ride to the extravagant welcome. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Our floor butler Mohit took time to make sure we enjoyed the hotel activities. Devarsh helped us arrange sightseeing with a fantastic guide - Ryannish. Prachi stepped in on each occasion she noticed we were confused navigating off property. Both took time and care to lead us to our local destinations. Our room was beautiful with a breathtaking view of lake Pichola and a balcony. We enjoyed use of the library bar for afternoon tea, the gym and pool. Unfortunately didn't have time for the spa but definitely would on our next visit!

Mohit, Ruwati, and Karan were our housekeeping crew and they were phenomenal. Very kind people and always willing to help. They kept our space very clean and organized and really made themselves available to keep us comfortable. Grateful to have had their services on this trip.

I truly wanted this to be a special family trip. We chose The Leela Palace Udaipur hoping for peace, relaxation, and time together with a beautiful lake view. Instead, the experience turned into stress, disruption, and moments that no family should have to deal with on vacation. When we first checked in, our patio view was exactly what we imagined: calm, open, and beautiful. But within a day, heavy wedding construction began right outside our room — loud hammering, scaffolding, equipment and workers completely blocking the view we paid for. The noise went on until around 10:30 PM. We asked several times when it would stop, but it didn’t. My elderly parents were eventually moved to another room at 11 PM just so they could try to sleep. Watching them have to repack and relocate that late at night was heartbreaking — this was supposed to be a relaxing family holiday, not a stressful ordeal. The hotel later offered us two villas, and even offered to station guards outside for our comfort. But the villas were located on the ground floor where many non-hotel staff and workers were constantly walking around due to the wedding setup. Even with guards, the area felt unsafe and far too isolated for a family stay. An “upgrade” cannot be considered compensation if the environment itself feels insecure. What was most disappointing is that the hotel continues to accept regular guest bookings during major events like this. This should never happen. Guests deserve to be informed if massive wedding preparations, late-night construction, or high foot traffic from outside workers will affect their stay — especially families traveling with older parents. The only bright spot during this entire stay was our butler, Adithya. He was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive. He did everything he could to make us feel cared for, and none of the issues reflect on him. He truly deserves recognition. Management did eventually waive the two disrupted nights and covered our food and spa charges, which we appreciated. But the remaining nights were still charged, and the emotional impact remained. The truth is, our family trip was ruined — the peace, the rest, the joy, all taken away by noise, stress, and poor planning around a major event. I’m writing this so future families know what to expect, and so the hotel reconsider accepting guest bookings during large events. No family should have to experience this on what was meant to be a cherished, peaceful holiday.

Our recent stay was truly exceptional, defined by outstanding service. A special commendation goes to our butler, Raghav, for his flawless attention to detail and proactive care. He made our experience effortless. We also deeply appreciate the professionalism and genuine warmth of the Front Office team: Ms. Prachi, and Deepak. Their efficiency greatly enhanced our check-in and overall stay. Thank you for providing such a memorable experience. We look forward to visiting again soon.
