The Leela Palace Udaipur

Shocking experience in what should have been an oasis of lakeside calm from the hustle and bustle of incredible Udaipur city. Had we been forwewarned we would have never stayed at the Leela Palace. Apart from a rather dated and tired room the hotel became a construction site with constant hammering , welding banging at all hours in all areas of the hotel grounds in preparation for what we were told was a major wedding which had clearly been booked well before we made our reservations. There was no warning or proactive apology by management. The tranquil sanctuary of the beautiful pool area was shattered by the constant noise and a stream of gawping workmen who seemingly had never seen a woman before - unsettlingly at best. Am sad to write such a negative review for a hotel where so many of the staff were helpful, kind and generally lovely. .

We loved everything about the Leela palace - the approach by boat; the setting on the banks of lake Pichola looking out at the city palace and lake palace; the lovely room looking out over the lake which was large and well appointed; the hotels facilities including large pool; the food and beverage offerings overlooking the lake; and finally the amazing staff who were so helpful and approachable. It feels more like a boutique hotel than one of the country’s major brands

Excellent service from the entire staff and a beautiful property. The welcome was incredible, along with the afternoon performance and dinner along the lake. Made our special trip even more special. Want to shoutout Nima (Butler) and Shiba (Bartender) for their extra special service and care.

The entire experience was exceptional, and we were incredibly happy with the personalized service offered by all the staff. A special thank you goes to Raghav (our butler) and Ms. Prachi; their impeccable service and warm attention to detail truly made our time memorable. The stay was wonderfully comfortable, and waking up to the breathtaking views of Lake Pichola from the palace was pure magic. Thank you for providing a truly luxurious and relaxing experience. We look forward to returning.
