This has got to be one of the best properties in the world! The leela Palace outdoes itself on the upkeep and housekeeping of the most beautifully kept rooms! The attention to detail was mind boggling Have drinks at the Library Bar and have a romantic dinner in the outer courtyard facing the lake and the Jag Mandir. It is an exclusive property and has a majestic presence, unparalleled to now in Udaipur The service was very professional (especially when it’s in a small indian town) and extremely friendly! I won’t hesitate to recommend this hotel as one of my favourite hotels worldwide A must stay on the bucket list!

From the moment we were collected by the boat at the jetty to moment we were dropped at the airport, we had a first class experience. This is one of the most amazing hotels we have ever stayed at. The hotel itself and the grounds are stunning, with a beautiful pool. We were upgraded to a suite which was amazing, with sublime views over the lake. The food was stunning and we had a very romantic meal over looking the lake. Simply beautiful. However it was the staff and the level of service that they provide that is outstanding. The butler in particular was a star. Totally recommended.

My wife and I decided to get away for a few days. The Leela in Udaipur looked like a nice option, so we decided to do it. The place, the people and the service was incredible! Having traveled the world we’re used to the finer things in life, but the level of personalized service we got set a new high for us.

We stayed at the Leela Palace for three nights at the tail end of our trip in India. Throughout our trip we stayed in both western hotel chains as well as local hotel chains. In all cases the service was wonderful. We gave most 5 stars. The service, setting and experience at Leela Palace exceeded all of the other hotels - deserving of 6 stars. It would be nice if Trip Advisor had a way to denote exceptional hotels and attractions such as The Leela Palace. Most guests will take the hotel boat from the shore to the hotel - a beautiful ride. Upon arrival, You feel very special and the arrival fanfare is over the top! We were greeted in the lobby by several staff and escorted to our room by two staff for check in and orientation. The hotel only has about 80 rooms and is simply stunning. The appointments of the room and hotel are amazing and beautiful. The art work is like being in a museum - opulent and over the top, but very tasteful. We loved our room and the panoramic view of the lake and City Palace. The room had everything we needed or could want (Except for a decent coffee machine such Nespresso or Illy. The packages of Nescafé are terrible and cheap - especially here. We had Nespresso and Illy machines at the Hyatt and Andaz and most higher-end propertie. They should be here as well.s). We were asked if we wanted a couple chairs and table for the balcony. We accepted and used them often to enjoy a cup of coffee or simply take in the view. There were many small gestures and gifts throughoutt our stay that really made us feel special. Our booking included all meals. The food was very good and even included dishes such as rack of lamb! We only had to cover the costs of drinks and any snacks outside of normal dining hours. The only miss was the unavailability of beers other than Heineken and Carlsberg, as well as certain liquors such as bourbon. Management made some comment about supply issues, but we were able to get bourbon as well as Kingfisher beer at all the other properties we stayed as well as restaurants in town. Seems strange that it would be an issue for a hotel of this caliber. The staff were the best part of the stay. Always offering assistance, talking with us, suggesting foods to try and even making sure they poured our water and anything else they could do. It was something we are not used to and made us feel special. We would like to give specia recognition to several staff - In tbe restaurant Manoj, Kishan and Shamsh were all excellent servers and spent much time chatting with us making sure we were happy. They were a pleasure. Thanks guys! Jian and Ravinder at the restaurant were also a pleasure as were the the sous and executive chefs, Deepak and Sujit. The chefs asked our opinion of the food several different times and offered to make something special if we did not see it on the menu. Wow! Our butler, Vishal, and executive housekeeper, Anil, were also of assistance during our stay. Thank you to all of these exceptional staff! Our departure was a sad moment for us; we wanted to stay longer and even thought about rearranging our plans, but could not. Our stay at The Leela Palace was a surprising and memorable experience at the end of our long journey that, while amazing, was tiring. We needed to relax and recover and the Leela Palace fit the bill. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed, including most if not all of the hotels throughout Asia. Our compliments again to the staff and general manager on providing such a memorable experience! We hope to return someday!!!
