Sacred House in Urgup, Turkey
Lose yourself in the mystical beauty of Cappadocia, and find serenity in the ancient comforts of Sacred House. Built into the caves of eastern Anatolia, in the center of Turkey, this 250 year old Greek mansion welcomes you with a charm all its own. Twelve different suites offer fabulously unique décor, from the bright, warm Cycladic style of the Fullmoon Suite to the dark chic of Anka's Lair. Soak in a deep whirlpool tub surrounded by the playful mysticism of Deep Forest, and stretch out next to the fireplace in the vibrantly regal Bacchus Hideout. With stunning middle-age art, antique handcrafted furniture, and the marvelous fashion.
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast, then step out into the sun in the brilliant courtyard before venturing out for the day. In this picturesque land of sweeping valleys, grandiose mountains, and otherworldly spires you can spend days exploring in fascination and wonder. Take a tour of Red Valley and Ihlara Canyon and see villages carved into the volcanic rock, built up in the sweeping meringue-like spires, and deep underground. Gaze over the stunning rock formations of Soganli Valley then take a tour of the marvelous underground cities of Kaymakli, Tatlarin, and Deinkuyu, built to protect the original settlers from the might of Rome. Wander through the Goreme Open Air Museum where more than 30 churches and chapels, beginning in the 10th century and adorned with ancient frescoes, were carved from the rock. In the afternoon mountain bike or ride horseback through the valleys, then take in the view from high above on a magical sunset hot air balloon ride. After a day spent exploring the ancient lands of Anatolia, return to Sacred House for a delightful medieval dinner featuring Mediterranean and Armenian cuisine before retiring to the deep comforts of your room.

Reviews for Sacred House
This hotel is out of this world. The rooms are magnificent, tasteful, extravagant, spacious, comfortable and sexy. The pool is outrageous! It's below ground and simply gorgeous. The staff is very friendly and attentive without overdoing it. The breakfast room is the best place to start your day, full of light and delicious tastes - particularly love the indoor garden room (again wow). This hotel is gorgeous and just right , a perfect balance of discreet and attentive, of elegance and extravagance, of sexiness and cosiness, of high-end/luxurious but also casual and low key. Definitely a MUST- if not for a stay then for a drink, a spa or for a meal. Ideal for romantic getaways or for those who want to stay in a place that it's truly extraordinary and offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

No matter what brings you to Cappadocia. No matter how long you are staying. No matter who you are traveling with. You HAVE to stay here, it's an otherworldly experience. I don't need to write much, check out the pictures, read the rest of the reviews and know that this is the #1 place in the whole region. PS The breakfast is probably the best I've had in the world.

Without question, this is the most incredible hotel that I have ever stayed in. Absolutely architecturally stunning, Sacred House is a feast for the eyes and senses. We took photos of every corner of the hotel to memorialize it but our photos cannot do it justice. We were so blown away by how beautiful, elegant, tasteful, and unique every inch of this hotel is. A majestic central staircase, multiple beautiful lounging and reading areas, a glorious dining room and garden, and a pool of a kind that has not existed since Roman times. Our room, the Old Chapel, fit the theme perfectly and we loved the luxurious and historic decor, the elegant bathroom, and the private lounge area. The building is the highlight, of course, but that makes it almost too easy to overlook the exceptional service. The staff were uniformly kind, pleasant, attentive, and warm, from the front desk staff, to the restaurant maitre d' and waiters, to the housekeeping and pool attendants. Plus, some of the best food we ate in Turkey, from succulent meat and delicious wine for dinner to an outrageously elaborate breakfast. We would travel back to Turkey and to Cappadocia just for another night in this hotel. We loved it. Not to be missed; if you are going to Cappadocia, you have to stay here.

I've traveled the world and I can confidently say there is no hotel similar to this one. It's in the quaint little town of Urgup with of view of it and of the mountains. There is a place to sit on the roof and admire it. If you have any time to relax during your stay, there is a sauna, massage room, Turkish bath room, and a pool that looks like it's blood due to the tiling. All of this is built into the rock and some parts of the rooms are as well. And don't even get me started on the service. They are extremely hospitable and caring for what your liking is and will do whatever to make you happy. If you are coming to Cappadocia, there should be no question, this is the place to come.
