In this picturesque land of sweeping valleys, grandiose mountains, and otherworldly spires you can spend days exploring in fascination and wonder. Take a tour of Red Valley and Ihlara Canyon and see villages carved into the volcanic rock, built up in the sweeping meringue-like spires, and deep underground. Gaze over the stunning rock formations of Soganli Valley then take a tour of the marvelous underground cities of Kaymakli, Tatlarin, and Deinkuyu, built to protect the original settlers from the might of Rome. Wander through the Goreme Open Air Museum where more than 30 churches and chapels, beginning in the 10th century and adorned with ancient frescoes, were carved from the rock. In the afternoon mountain bike or ride horseback through the valleys, then take in the view from high above on a magical sunset hot air balloon ride. After a day spent exploring the ancient lands of Anatolia, return to Sacred House for a delightful medieval dinner featuring Mediterranean and Armenian cuisine before retiring to the deep comforts of your room.

Without question, this is the most incredible hotel that I have ever stayed in. Absolutely architecturally stunning, Sacred House is a feast for the eyes and senses. We took photos of every corner of the hotel to memorialize it but our photos cannot do it justice. We were so blown away by how beautiful, elegant, tasteful, and unique every inch of this hotel is. A majestic central staircase, multiple beautiful lounging and reading areas, a glorious dining room and garden, and a pool of a kind that has not existed since Roman times. Our room, the Old Chapel, fit the theme perfectly and we loved the luxurious and historic decor, the elegant bathroom, and the private lounge area. The building is the highlight, of course, but that makes it almost too easy to overlook the exceptional service. The staff were uniformly kind, pleasant, attentive, and warm, from the front desk staff, to the restaurant maitre d' and waiters, to the housekeeping and pool attendants. Plus, some of the best food we ate in Turkey, from succulent meat and delicious wine for dinner to an outrageously elaborate breakfast. We would travel back to Turkey and to Cappadocia just for another night in this hotel. We loved it. Not to be missed; if you are going to Cappadocia, you have to stay here.

I've traveled the world and I can confidently say there is no hotel similar to this one. It's in the quaint little town of Urgup with of view of it and of the mountains. There is a place to sit on the roof and admire it. If you have any time to relax during your stay, there is a sauna, massage room, Turkish bath room, and a pool that looks like it's blood due to the tiling. All of this is built into the rock and some parts of the rooms are as well. And don't even get me started on the service. They are extremely hospitable and caring for what your liking is and will do whatever to make you happy. If you are coming to Cappadocia, there should be no question, this is the place to come.

Sacred House is unlike any hotel I've ever stayed. A series of 21 guest rooms, a library, and salon this amazing cave hotel is decorated in a way that feels like another world. Mystics and poets meet angels and sprites in a palace of fine art. I slept and lingered in the Sultan room. The decor was sumptuous. The linens and towels were top quality with good smelling designer amenities and a generous mini bar. The room has a speaker and each guest receives an iPad with a series of playlists courtesy of Sacred House with a Bluetooth enabled speaker in the room. The wifi is strong all over the property. The room has a fireplace, wardrobe, divan, and a large bathroom. The room is decorated with Italian glass and Ottoman fine art to transport you to a little dream. The message is to relax and let your creative mind take over. My only discomfort was lack of air movement in my room despite it having large windows (it was hot weather) and the lovely woman at reception immediately brought me two standing fans which I kept for the three nights I stayed. The dining room and salon are a pleasure to take the fresh breakfast in each morning. The Staff and the Chef are all exceptional people and I enjoyed their kindness throughout my stay. While I did not use the subterranean pool and spa I did visit it. If Dante went for self care that would be the place. See for yourself! I hope to return to Sacred House often enough to stay in each room. It is a tableau for a dream.

We had actually booked into another Lovely cave hotel in Urgup - but I'd heard about this place and was dying to see it with my own eyes. We knocked on the door and asked if we could look around. The staff couldn't have been more kind - We had cocktails at the bar and the treated us to a tour of the entire place - No picture or description can do it justice - Your jaw just drops and stays that way - Every new corner was a vital and sensual delight. No detail or cranny was left to chance, every inch had been thought about and embellished with art and united vision - It was literally like being in a dream. I cannot wait to go back and stay there full time!!
