Rancho Pacifico

It’s difficult to put into words how impressed we were with our stay at Rancho Pacifico! After reading so many glowing reviews online, we decided that RP looked like the perfect place for my husband and I to celebrate our 21st anniversary and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. From their responsiveness to my initial booking request, I could tell that Rancho Pacifico was different. They were very helpful in answering all of my questions and offered an all-inclusive package that was exactly what we were looking for. This allowed our time in Costa Rica to be completely stress-free. This package had EVERY detail covered and there was no need to stress about any extra planning. The services that the Rancho Pacifico team provided for us throughout our stay consistently exceeded our expectations! Travel delays caused us to have a midnight arrival time at the resort, but the concierge never missed a beat in rescheduling our airport pickup and private transportation to the resort. After the steep drive up the mountain to the entrance, we were glad that we chose to use their transportation and skipped renting a car. The property and the rooms were beautiful! Our room gave us full privacy, and we really felt like we were sitting in a treetop in the rainforest. The sunsets from the Treehouse Puma were some of the most beautiful that we have ever seen! We planned our excursions during the morning hours and spent lazy afternoons relaxing on our balcony enjoying the sunset, watching the wildlife, and soaking up the sounds of the rainforest. Be sure to save some downtime to enjoy the room! The food was absolutely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the open-air dining area with views of the ocean and the Whale’s Tail. We especially loved the fresh juices at breakfast every morning! Dinner is quite the experience and we found ourselves looking forward to hearing about the “surprise” menu every evening, especially when Andre was the one to present it to us! Our excursions were booked by the concierge desk (Adrian and Shirley) and were completely stress-free. The Mangrove Boat Tour was our favorite! We also really enjoyed the ATV & Coffee tour and Cano Island Snorkeling. We were even lucky enough to swim with some sea turtles! Private transportation was arranged for us…and the resort provided “on the go” meals when we were going to be out during breakfast or lunch. We appreciated not having to worry about navigating unfamiliar roads and were able to enjoy the scenery. The resort staff went out of their way to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect! Their attention to detail, personal touches, and overall friendliness definitely make Rancho Pacifico unique and memorable. Everyone working there seems to really love what they do and it shows in their interactions with the guests and each other. A few other favorites from our stay: relaxing by the pool, hiking to the waterfall, cocktails and great conversation with Jason (one of their bartenders), and seeing the incredible wildlife. We saw Howler Monkeys, Fiery-Billed Aracari, and Toucans at the resort! And btw, we only needed bug spray for the waterfall hike! As funny as it sounds, my only regret from our trip was forgetting to purchase some of the laundry detergent that the resort uses before we left Costa Rica. It smelled amazing and I would have loved to bring some back home to remind us of our stay! Rancho Pacifico was certainly an unforgettable experience for us. We were disappointed that our week passed by so quickly, but feel blessed that we had the opportunity to visit such a truly special place! We are already making plans for our next trip to RP!

I had a magical 50th birthday celebration with my husband at Rancho Pacifico. The stunning natural beauty of the location, combined with the gorgeousness of the rooms and common areas, cannot be understated. We were in one of the modern suites closest to the front desk/restaurant (which are open-air), and we were very comfortable. However, the staff was kind enough to let us check out a treehouse, and we will definitely book one of those next time. We toured the Toucan treehouse, and it was enormous, private, and stunning. I found RP by googling "best food in Costa Rica," and the internet did not steer me wrong. The food was incredible! We drank so much fresh juice and ate so much ceviche. Dinner every night was 4 amazing courses. Because the resort is so small, we regularly engaged with other guests and even made some friends! The activities we tried were all really fun. Our favorite was the night hike, where two wonderful nature guides gave us rubber boots and flashlights, and we walked around the mountain picking up leaves and branches to reveal all kinds of toads, frogs, snakes, bugs, etc. It felt like a childhood summer camp adventure. We also rode horses on the beach, hiked the Waterfall trail (advanced), and had the best spa day of my life. We are already talking about when we will return to Rancho Pacifico! Last, but not least, the staff is absolutely delightful, funny, helpful, and kind. This place is a true gem, worth all 5 stars.

My husband and I wanted to visit Costa Rica to celebrate 15 years of marriage and because Costa Rica was our top choice for our first international travel! We opted to book an all inclusive resort and chose to stay with Rancho Pacifico based off excellent reviews online. Travel was easy to get there and we felt safe. We chose to stay in the Tucan Treehouse room and the view and nature sounds were exceptional! I already miss waking up in that paradise atmosphere. The resort was private, clean, beautiful, relaxing, calm, and filled with the friendliest staff. Jason would make us custom smoothies! We adored him. We had delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners made every day of our stay. The staff even made us to-go breakfast meals on our way to excursions. We selected a package that offered 3 excursions and a couple’s massage with the resort. The resort provided car service with friendly drivers to take us to our excursions. It made our visit to Costa Rica so easy and stress free. We did early excursions and enjoyed watching the afternoon rainfall from the Tucan Treehouse balcony! I highly recommend the following excursions: snorkeling in Caño Island, horseback ride with Rancho La Merced, and OSA Canopy zipline tour. Everything went above and beyond our expectations. Rancho Pacifico exceeded our expectations in every way. The property is beautiful, the accommodations were incredibly comfortable, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. One of my favorite details was hearing Jungle and Khruangbin playing when we checked in—the same playlist we had on during the drive. It immediately felt like a place that was right up our alley. The food was also outstanding. We originally planned to explore different restaurants every night, but after our first dinner, we kept finding reasons to stay and eat on property. It was simply too good to leave. If you're looking for a place that combines luxury (without the pretension), relaxation, amazing food, and a truly special atmosphere, Rancho Pacifico delivers. We can't wait to come back. P.S. The drive is not nearly as bad as other people are claiming. We left every day and loved having our own car to do our own thing.

Rancho Pacifico is one of the best places my wife and I have ever stayed. It offers the perfect combination of luxury and nature. The staff treated us exceptionally well and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food and drinks were outstanding, and every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. As a bonus, there is a Fiery Billed Aracari nest by the reception. It was wonderful to see a whole family of Aracaris, Yellow Throated Toucans, Tanagers and many more wildlife while enjoying the comforts of this beautiful place. We are already planning to return for a longer stay—at least a week! Thank you, Rancho Pacifico, for such a wonderful and memorable experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
