It was a wonderful place to stay, terrific staff, awesome breakfast; the location was close to the center of Vail and easy access to the local bus service. The views were beautiful and the property's back yard was essentially the lovely the Betty Ford Gardens. I plan to return

The lodge is right next to the ski slopes and lift, making this a very nice location for a ski trip. That said, the rooms have a very high variance in terms of how nice they are. Some appear to have been updated relatively recently (such as mine- room 339), but others are straight out of the 1970's or 1980's. Most of the condos that are on the upper floors don't have any elevator access, but it's only two flights of stairs at most to get to your room. There was construction going on across the street, but I assume that will be done during ski season. There was a breakfast each morning at the lodge, which was fine. You're close enough to the village that you could walk there in 5-10 minutes to get something else. There are also kitchenettes in the condo rooms. Parking is $18.00 / night, which is fairly expensive, except that you're literally across from the slopes, so that makes sense. There are ski lockers outside of each room, so it's easy to store your skis. To summarize, this would be a great place to stay for a ski trip as long as you get one of the more updated condos.

Our favorite part of the Lodge stay was breakfast! We were greeted most mornings by Michi. She was always happy and so accommodating! Her smile started our day off to a good start! The breakfast staff was friendly and made us feel right at home. Thank you for your kindness!

Beware. There is nonstop construction outside the rooms with back up signals and dust flying. Impossible to relax ond enjoy the patio and noisy even inside. Rooms on the second floor look directly at the construction and cars. There are NO elevators. You have to lug everything up several flights of stairs. Our 3 bedroom unit had a master with only a locked closet. No place to hang clothes. The front desk staff were very nice but housekeeping left our condo door wide open after they left. Parking in our section was outdoors. The included breakfast was very good but that is the only positive to this property. Even that required an outdoor hike to reach the breakfast room.

The property is definitely going after the ski lodge look. The unit I stayed in was dated and badly in the need of a refresh. The dinning staff for breakfast was very nice and the food was more than adequate, although the setting was not much better than a lunchroom in school.
