Wonderful place with great people and exceptional service. Alexa took fantastic care of us in Frost, making perfect cocktails and staying nearby when we needed more rounds. The snacks were top notch. We had the cheese board and the charcuterie plate, and both had high quality ingredients and excellent selections. Even the lavosh was perfect! Room was as expected—high end, clean, quiet and comfortable. Nespresso is a nice touch. Next morning’s checkout was flawless—and the gentleman even gave me a bottle of water and a cup of “go” coffee prepared to my liking. A truly great visit. Thank you.

Having never been to Vail before, my girlfriend and I extensively researched and compared just about every Vail accommodation offering within the Vail Village and Lionshead vicinity, prior to our Winter snowboarding holiday back in Feb '17. In the end we decided upon the Sebastian based on its ideal location within the Village, the amenities available, and the resoundingly positive reviews we read. Our decision could not have been better! I believe that when booking accommodation, a good location is paramount. The Sebastian easily satisfies this criterion as it is situated within easy walking distance of everything the Village has to offer – including Gondola One. For anyone who complains that this is not a true ski-in/ski-out property, their point is valid, but their sentiment is not. While the vast majority of lodgings in Vail are by definition not ski-in/ski-out, the Sebastian at least provides a ski/board valet conveniently located at the base of Gondola One, which allows you to store your hardware overnight and avoid having to carry it back to the hotel. There is also a free shuttle service to Lionshead that stops right next to the hotel on East Meadow Drive. The Sebastian’s luxurious décor and on-sight amenities make for a truly memorable and enjoyable stay. The hotel lobby exudes sophistication and yet is perhaps the most inviting I have ever spent time in. Here you can kick-back and relax on the lounges in front of a grand fireplace, while sipping the Sebastian’s ultra-indulgent Signature hot chocolate. Directly off the lobby is the entrance to the hotel’s Frost Bar – an enchanting scene for Après-ski with a sense of exclusivity. The bar staff were always friendly and attentive and the cocktails were unique and delicious. A special shout-out to Tiffany who provided us with outstanding service and excellent drink recommendations over the course of our stay – thanks again! Directly opposite the bar is the library, which is yet another welcoming and charming space to either relax with a good book, or strain your brain over a game of chess or checkers. Adjacent to that is the Bloom day-spa which we are unable to comment on as we did not get around to trying it. The outdoor pool and four outdoor hot-tubs on the other hand were amazing to relax those fatigued muscles after a full day of riding the slopes. There’s something magical about relaxing in a hot-tub immersed in the ambiance of the Sebastian, especially when surrounded by a blanket of white as it continues to snow. The fitness centre was modern and well equipped with a good selection of both cardio and resistance machines. For those who prefer free-weight training, there was an adequate rack of dumbbells and a flat bench to complete a workout. We dined at the in-house restaurant Leonora twice; the first occasion made for a perfect dining experience where the service was outstanding and the food delectable (recommend the duck confit). The second time was on our last night – a Monday – and while the service was still good, the food was subpar. We both ordered the bison steak cooked rare, but both were significantly overcooked and bordered on well-done, which completely ruined the piece of meat. The restaurant deducted the cost of one meal from the bill which was appreciated, but that didn’t change the fact that our last dinner in Vail was disappointing. A quick sidenote – for one of the best steaks of your life, try the prime-rib from the Lancelot, or the wild Alaskan elk from the Antler Room at Pepi’s. These along with the duck confit from Leonora, round out our top three best dining experiences in Vail. The hotel room we called home for 9 nights was everything you would expect of a 5-star hotel room. It was a decent size, immaculately clean, contained modern appliances and had a very comfortable bed that provided a great night’s sleep. The Nespresso machine was great for a quick shot of coffee every morning, and the treat (cookie or similar) left in your room after housekeeping daily was an unexpected and welcomed gesture. Needless to say, but the next time we visit Vail for a holiday we will definitely be returning to the Sebastian!

Right in the middle of Vail and convenient to everything, we felt transported to Europe at this sophisticated, yet cozy and intimate hotel. From the moment the friendly and efficient valet staff greeted us in the port cochere to the time they sent us off, we were treated warmly and personally by all of the staff, so much that we can't wait to return! The attention to detail and anticipation of our needs were especially appreciated and seamless. The reception area with its soaring windowed ceiling was luxuriously appointed with beautiful furnishings and fireplace surrounded by well-placed art made it feel like a residential living room. The library was so inviting that we wanted to linger all day with a good book. The Frost bar totally transported us into an understated winter wonderland. We stayed in a well-appointed two-bedroom suite overlooking the mountain with the pool and hot tubs immediately below. The suite was pleasantly appointed with a fully functional kitchen including a crock pot for an apres ski meal, coffee maker in addition to a Nespresso instant coffee maker depending on your preference. Extra nice touches like complimentary apples in a bowl, specialty trail mix (delicious!), full bag of coffee (which we didn't use), were very much appreciated and enjoyed. The hotel is committed to reducing their carbon footprint by offering refillable water bottles, a refillable water purification pitcher in the refrigerator, shampoo/ lotion/body wash in dispenser bottles and instruction cards should you not want sheets changed or would like to re-use towels. We didn't take advantage of the spa but reception area was inviting, small retail shop, meeting space, kids room and plenty of open space to relax. Added bonus that the video games are free to guests and they offer complimentary Redbox-style movies in the business center as well as books and board games in the Library. We did have breakfast in the restaurant (Leonora, reviewed separately). We are looking forward to returning!
