Reviews for The Sebastian, Vail

awful stay; no valet help; expect to carry your own skis

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This is the second year I stayed at The Sebastian. The first time I had a great stay. The second time - in March of 2024 - boy, has this hotel gone down hill. For example, both when I came - and when I left - I got NO help with my ski bags (and I was alone with 2 kids). Upon entering the hotel, the car service warned me that the valets were lazy. Indeed, it took a full 40 minutes for my bags to appear in my room. Then when I was leaving - even worse. After 30 minutes of waiting for the valet to come to my room, I went down to the front desk/valets for help but was told "they were busy." Finally, as I was going to miss my flight, I took my family's ski bags down alone to the car (with the help of my 2 small kids). This is exactly the type of (nonexistent) help you can expect from The Sebastian. Other things: the room service is BEYOND awful. Not as in.. oh, it is room service, expect the basics. I mean, inedible. And beyond expensive. I could go on and on, but The Sebastian is awful. Don't stay here. Oh, I contacted the management and they didn't even care to follow up. That shows you what type of hotel this place has become.

We love The Sebastian the facilities and the people are great is very conveniently Located and base camp is a super nice plus. We have been going for 8 years and every season offers something great. The people that work there really make you fell welcoming and all requests are posible. Mi kids love this place and are always looking forward to going back again and again. It really is a second home for us.

Nice but…

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Booked through Amex and expected a warm welcome which we didn’t receive. Never received a welcome letter or any Amex amenities (which we should have). Room was clean and updated but small, especially the bathroom (we didn’t receive an Amex upgrade). Our room was over $1300 for the night and the small window looked was internal had we had a view of the lobby. We had to listen to our neighbors television blasting most of the night. Leonora’s for dinner was AWFUL but Argentinian staff is AMAZING (especially Sofia and Delfina at breakfast).

Cozy on Up!!

Such a nice hotel for any occasion! This one was a mid week stay-away, but the Sebastian is spectacular on any and every day! `The lobby bar is just what I needed after a short mid morning of barely working hahahah. The rooms are absolutly fine and wouldn't feel 'dated' if every other hotel in town didn't reno every year. Check in is a breeze, valet/bell and front desk are all friendly and welcoming, rooms are spotless and everything works as it should. It's easy to forget how spoiled we are in Vail but ho when I travel out I can tell!

I stayed here earlier this year—awesome location, great staff and my room rocked! Check out the outstanding food here too and then walk to everything. Great spa on site—enjoy!
