Check your plane ticket: Sonnenalp Hotel is located just outside of Vail Village, but the décor may make you think you landed in Germany instead. The four-generations-old ski lodge excels at creating a cozy, comfortable environment for guests returning from a day on the slopes (the lodge enjoys exclusive access to the ski concierge at Gondola 1) – rooms are decked out in old-school plaid, with custom-made Bavarian furniture, gas log fireplaces, and heated marble floors. Biomat can be added to a range of massage treatments to soothe sore muscles with far infrared heat and prepare the body for the next day's fresh powder.

Beautiful property within walking distance of downtown Vail! The hotel is the perfect mix of upscale and homey, blending together a rustic European design with a modern, upscale, luxury experience. The amenities and restaurants are amazing and the staff is kind and knowledgeable. We can't wait to return.

Austria in Vail
Best mountain hotel in the States. Feels like Austria. From furniture to ambiance. Incredible breakfast and spa amenities. Nice live music in the afternoon. They have a concierge for skiing next to the gondola. Love to come back in the next winter season

We love the sonnenalp! The hospitality is so warm and genuine, the space is charming and beautiful, the spa is unique and relaxing, they’re tremendously helpful at the bellhop and front desks and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Location is tremendous. Our favorite place to stay in Vail!

Perfection
Going to Sonnenalp for the past 20 years, they never disappoint! Just keeps getting better and better! From the moment you pull up in your car to the moment you leave, an incredible experience! The Spa, pool and restaurants are wonderful. The staff goes above and beyond wanting your experience at Sonnenalp to be nothing short of perfection, and it is perfection! Cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff, the decor, the food, and the spa!

Sonnenalp return stay
Always look forward to staying at the Sonnenalp. Easy transportation from Vail-Eagle airport. We were able to have early checkin and late checkout. Very professional and courteous staff. Excellent concierge services. Convenient ski locker/storage at base of gondola 1. Great spa facilities after a day on the mountain. Delicious buffet breakfast and in-house dining.
