You need to know that Hotel Talisa is NOT open for business yet as of this review but my stars are rated on their customer service. I just read Michael D's review about construction issues. We too had a reservation next weekend. We got an incredibly great rate and were warned that much of the hotel would not be open during our stay. I truly half expected to get the call we did a week ago from Hotel Talisa explaining that the construction is behind schedule and the hotel would not be open at all. I was not surprised since I understand construction delays... especially building a hotel in the middle of the winter in Vail Valley.... how are they even getting anything done?! The customer service rep I spoke to was very apologetic and to make up for their mistake, they sent me a gift certificate for 2 nights to be used anytime by April 2018. I think that's very generous and I for one will definitely be taking them up on that offer! Maybe I am more forgiving since I didn't have an entire week booked here, only a weekend. We are also just in Denver, so no airline issues to work out. I did re-book at another hotel for twice the price but the typical price of what Vail is this time of year (Talisa had given me screaming deal) so I wasn't as traumatized by this cancellation as perhaps Michael D. Anyway, just wanted to set the record straight. Be sure to read reviews when Hotel Talisa DOES open - date TBD. I'm not sure when Vail Cascade Hotel and Spa closed but they've apparently taken over their reviews so perhaps any reviews here you read prior to Jan 2017 belong to Casade NOT Talisa. Don't quote me on that date, just do your research.

Around a month prior to our stay in one of the condos, the hotel contacted us to let us know that basically nothing would be open due to construction delays. This wouldn't be such an issue if it weren't Vail and Spring Break. The hotel "generously" agreed to waiving the resort fees, or, in our case refund the money. We will be getting our money back, paying double for another property, if we can find one and never staying at the Talisa.

Stayed there for 2 March Ski trips now. Doubt my wife and I will ever try to stay anywhere else in Vail. I love the private lift and the village is right down the road if you want to mix it up a little.

We had our wedding in Vail and had a room block with Vail Cascade. The accommodations and staff were incredible to our guest. They helped shuttle our guests around and even allowed us to reserve a shuttle. They went above and beyond and delivered send gift baskets that we created to all of our guests. The rates for the wedding were incredible and the communication was fantastic. Many of our guests have returned and the hotel keeps the record they booked for our wedding and have included things in their room or upgrades. They just go the extra mile at all times. Thank you for helping make our wedding fantastic!

We have stayed in this resort twice. Our favorite time of year to visit is for Snow Daze in December. Crowds in the slopes are light and there's enough snow to have fun! This resort offers ski in/ski out accommodations and has a ski rental shop next to the loft. Perfect combo!
