Reviews for The Westin Valencia

Centrally located smart hotel with parking, comfortable rooms, good food good staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The rooms are generously proportioned and well equipped, the staff generally very good, the grounds are lovely to eat or sit in. The spa has a very good pool of young get there at the right time. The breakfast and lunch, are very good, and eggs can be ordered. Dining is more of an issue as not enough space and some book and don't show up. Being served is not the quickest, but the staff are generally very polite. Steak was good, the sea bass a little light, paella was not so flavourful and had lots of bone and little chicken

I used a bucket load of Bonvoy points to book 2 interconnecting rooms for 3 nights and don't regret it for a moment. This is an exception hotel in the Bonvoy/Marriott chain and we cannot wait to return. We stayed as a family of 4 (children aged 8 and 6) and had an exceptional experience in Valencia, such a wonderful city full of culture and the hotel being so central was ideal. Upon arrival the concierge surprised our 2 children with an Easter basket and during the whole stay the hotel staff made us feel so comfortable and welcome, even offering to grab me some water after re-entering the hotel after a 5km run outside along the wonderful sunken garden. The attention to detail and the guest experience is truly exceptional. Rooms are well appointed and have a sense of space with high ceilings, beds are of the highest quality and offer a perfect night's sleep. Breakfast is exceptional, offering hot, cold and Cava for the perfect start to your day! The swimming pool / spa is very nice and the gym is perfectly equipped. Children are also welcome to use the pool. We also really enjoyed evening meals in the restaurant / bar and our children were also welcome, a highlight was (good) live entertainment each evening, pianist and singers - a really nice experience Cannot wait to return

No agreements honored

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Regretfully it is the norm rather than the exception as organizations like Marriott think themselves untouchable by clients or law. And often they are. We stayed more than 40 nights and had an agreement on the price for our stay. We returned shortly after under the agreement we kept that rate. Although promised on the phone, they tried to charge us again for the dog even though the rule is only the first 5 nights. They than again, for the 3 rd time changes the rate on us. All while wifi was out for 3 days. So they dishonor a service contract and a price agreement All while my wife is a platina member. They have no executive room and the tv choices are extremely limited. However, concierge is great. And the reception lady manager a credit to the hotel and herself. But the reception staff is inefficient, jealous and vindictive. They will not admit to mistakes, the invoice is a mess and they will not forgive the customer for pointing out their mistakes. Two receptionist just walked out and refused to talk to me as they had no arguments. The courtyard and breakfast serving staff is excellent again. Breakfast not worth the hefty price they charge for it. I checked and found that I have spent a total of 2500 + nights in my life at Marriott brands and professionally booked over 10.000 rooms with my marketing companies. Yet, they try to suck an extra 200 euro out of me. That is the reward of Marriott to me. We do no longer exist as clients, we are only walking wallets. Yet, it could be good but how to deal with people who do not keep clear agreements ? We have no recourse.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We spent one night ( unfortunately only one night, would have loved longer stay) here. There were three of us staying in one room and they gave us a large room so that even with a rollaway bed there was plenty of room. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was enormous. We even had a terrace. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We didn’t eat at the restaurants there but they seemed very nice. The common areas were beautiful. It was in a convenient location.

Luxury on the edge of the central park

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed in the Westin for a long weekend, and it was a fantastic oasis of calm during the busy and exciting Fallas festival that marks the beginning of Spring in Valencia. It’s in a beautiful building on the edge of the central park, with modernised rooms in a traditional style. We had a junior suite on the second floor, with terrace and outdoor hot tub which was a fun and unusual addition. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet and really well appointed with a massive shower, separate bath and lots of cupboard space. Great breakfast, fantastic modern cocktail bar (apparently in the top 50 in the world…), a good restaurant with lovely courtyard seating, a big swimming pool and sauna complex, and a well appointed gym. Really helpful and friendly staff. Would thoroughly recommend staying here for a city break with added luxury. The negroni in the bar is banging.
