Hotel Rodavento in Valle de Bravo, Mexico

Commonly known as the Switzerland of Mexico, Valle de Bravo provides a magnificent backdrop for Hotel Rodavento. Just two hours outside Mexico City, this 16th-century town sets a magical tone for an intimate collection of tent-topped suites overlooking a private lagoon. The entire front of each accommodation is comprised of sliding glass doors, which open onto a terrace and allow uninterrupted harmony with the pine forest surroundings. Further enhancing this unique experience are gourmet dining and a soothing selection of spa services.

This luxury-adventure hotel enjoys the best of both worlds: town and country. Valle de Bravo's rustic colonial buildings line narrow cobblestone streets that lead to the shores of a spectacular mountain lake. You might spend your days shopping the local crafts market, where Mazahua Indians sell their wares in the main square, or exploring the area's miles of mountain biking and hiking trails. From exhilarating zip line adventures to serene lake kayaking to Monarch butterfly nesting ground tours in season, you are continually embraced by nature's bounty.

The cabins all over seem like a nice concept but I have now stayed here three times and do not like them every visit. This trip the toilet did not work. There is no desk. Sink in main room squeezed against coffee. No bedside table. I did not love it and keft my room before breakfast on my 2nd day and left my luggage in the car. No need to return to a broken toilet. They have public bathrooms at meeting rooms and restaurant. Food is only OK, not great in an area with some amazing restaurants. Fine if someone is paying for me but I would never stay here otherwise. Pretty is true but needs attention and not worth what you pay.

Magic peaceful place for a corporate meeting, surrounded by nature everywhere - even the meeting rooms have quite a view from big windows. Gorgeous cottage style rooms accomodate up to 4 people. Restaurant has a nice international menu with local cuisine touch. Teambuilding activities available rapel, archery, canoeing, stand up paddle. Be aware that the hotel is not placed in a plain terrain, so it is not suitable for elderly nor disabled, though they do offer a ride by car to the rooms placed up in the mountain.

Outstanding resort and experience. Excellent attention, great spaces/rooms/amenities, and delicious food. Everything is surrounded by natural and breathtaking views. A great place to rest, relax and spend quality time. We would highly recommend it.

We where at the beginning of january in this marvelous hotel in the middle of Valle de Bravo forest and had an excelent time, grat cabins , very comfortable and a fantastic view in the middle of the forest. Great restautna looking at a lake and superb food not so many choices but great service and the breakfasts are fantastic, tons of activites for any age and a spa that is going to a renovation but still is a must do in your stay.

The thought and care that went into this property show around every corner. Every cabin is private and quiet. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Almost everyone spoke English. The activities were easy to access and schedule. The food was delicious and varied... Not the typical Mexican fare. The suites are large and comfortable, the washroom is next level.
