We, family couple, were visiting Malta for one week beginning of Jan this year and booked Deluxe room with king size bed, so my first expectation was to get 200cm by 200 cm but we got 180cm by 200 cm.and in comparison with rest services it was the minor disappointing thing... It was extremely cold in bathroom - no there was no heated towel rail or floor heating. The most terrible thing was that we were settled in a room right above the back entrance of the kitchen (January is not a high season, not to be able to offer better room), where every day at five in the morning drove up to unload the transport and all this was accompanied by loud chats of kitchen staff until one o'clock in the morning. The whole room smelled of kitchen smells. In the room there were mosquitoes and at the reception they advised us to go to the pharmacy and buy a remedy for mosquitoes. The restaurant of the five-star hotel does not have fresh orange juice and it's in Malta, where oranges grow on trees everywhere. Breakfast - tables from the bottom are sticky, the dishes were chipped and sometimes dirty, once they brought tea, which smelled of dirty rags. When you come to breakfast they meet you and explain that a waiter will serve you drinks but then you have to be able to catch the waiter to bring you coffee or tea if you do not you will wait up to 30 minutes (it is not high season). Room service one could reach only if you do it through help of reception but you should call twice (it took us 40 minutes to make order). The cleaning of rooms and laundry services are very good and there was a very nice lady meeting guests at the breakfast. Reception overall doing good job too. There should be reasons of such conditions and services behind i would not recommend to visit this hotel.

VOID!!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! Make sure You bring up to 350 euros to access Your room. Even if You prepaid the room You will be force to deposit up to 350 euros to access the room. If you don't have the deposit money you will not be allowed to check inn!!!!!! And the surprises don't finish here.... 5 euro charge for each room key, minibar empty (Unjustified decision if you are force to make a deposit)..... Honestly I think that a German 5 star hotel in malta will be a 7+ stars.... Plus was impossible to sleep because the disco at the second floor kept music on till 1am.

we stayed here May/June for a family birthday and booked out the 2 suites at the top of the hotel. The views across Valletta and across the Bay were stunning. The rooms although luxurious were a little faded in that grand old elegant way.. The lifts are problematic at this hotel and it can take quite some time to actually make it down to other floors. The pool area is well maintained and we enjoyed a couple of pleasurable lunches. The hotel is close to all of the main attractions that this beautiful city has to offer. There is quite a number of steps to climb up to exit the hotel which can be quite tiring especially when it is hot. Breakfast was enjoyed in the executive lounge which was a sedate and ordered affair. The general buffet area for the main hotel looked extremely busy when we passed by. The overall cleanliness of the rooms was good and the room staff were efficient.

We stayed for 5 days in January, the hotel has a lot he amenities you would expect including a nice gym which was not busy. The staff were excellent throughout, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was delicious with freshly cooked omelettes. My wife and I had a wonderful stay and I would definitely recommend stay here. For those who use wheelchairs be aware that Valletta is quite steep in places, but probably one of the friendliest places in the world.

The hotel is very spacious, the rooms are large and very comfortable. The service is good and people are very friendly. The hotel is very close to the cent of Valletta and the staff is very eager to give some advice as to what to do for activities.
