Hotel was beautiful and loved have the 1 bedroom suite room for our family of four so that we didn’t have to go the bed at the same time as the kids. The sofa bed worked great for them. The location was great, we easily walked with our kids from the hullo ferry. Only reason my review isn’t five stars is because the primary reason we booked this hotel was for the indoor swimming pool as something to do with the kids. Two days prior to our trip I was notified that the health facilities were only available to those over 15 years. I thought that meant the gym. Upon arriving and trying to access the pool with my two toddlers, I was informed the age restriction applied to the pool as well. My kids were crushed as they were looking forward to swimming during our weekend there. I was also surprised to learn that the “health facilities” (pool and gym) weren’t actually part of the hotel but next door in a separate building at the ywca. I booked through hotels.com so maybe that’s where the misconception occurred as I was definitely under the impression the hotel le soleil had their own pool within the building so even if kids were allowed it was not what I wanted as a quick toddler friendly activity. Otherwise the hotel itself was great, room service breakfast from alouette was delicious and super fast. Just don’t book here if you have kids hoping to swim.

The great reviews were completely warranted in our opinion. Even though this was an executive hotel, we stayed as a family with two kids because we wanted an extra room. We couldn't have been happier. There was a large pull-out bed that the kids loved and housekeeping went out of their way to make little teddy bears out of folded towels. Breakfast was included in our rate, which was a tremendous value considering feeding the four of us for two nights. The room was spotless and quiet and the location was perfect for a car-free trip so that we could take transit to the aquarium, Granville Island, and Science World. Would definitely stay here again, thanks to the excellent staff who went out of their way at every opportunity.

The location is fantastic, the room was great, and the staff are outstanding. Escape the drudgery of your typical chain hotel, and stay here instead.

Stayed for a weekend while attending a conference. Location is amazing, right in the heart of downtown Van, and less than a 5 min walk to Skytrain. Wifi in room was great. Amenities in the room were ok. There's a small Keurig coffee machine (though oddly I wasn't supplied with any pods for it?), couple of complimentary bottles of water in the room. No cutlery, I bought a meal to bring back to the room and was surprised I only had 2 spoons in the room to eat with (no forks). TV options are poor. There's a chromecast attached which I couldn't get working (last time I stayed It was finicky as well). I ended up plugging an HDMI cable into the TV and connected my own device (which worked fine). Wireless charger is built in to the shelf below the TV which is a nice touch, along with a recessed set of USB charging ports. Bed was very comfy, and I was surprised, I was on the 10th floor right by the elevator yet noise was not at all a problem. Very nice room (not much of a view, but not surprising -- about all you can see when you're DT Van is other tall buildings). Cost is... ok. It's a hotel in DT Van so room price reflected that, that is to say you pay a premium for location and it's about the same as other hotels in the same area. This is the 2nd time I've stayed here and would very much consider staying again.

Since we first stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago, we keep coming back. The rooms are spacious (and you can separate areas which is great when you have kids - we’ve stayed here with and without the kids), the staff is outstanding, breakfast delicious and the location couldn’t be better. There’s a lot of competition in Vancouver but we are loyal to this hotel.
