Idea location to be in Vancouver. The car never moved in three days, so it was not needed. Will fly over next time. Check out the Italian Kitchen and the Keg, plus the Cactus Club on the water front!!

I'm a frequent guest at the Soleil and continue to be impressed by the pleasing and comfortable atmosphere, the attentive staff and the quality of accommodation. Recently, I booked in a family group. As usual, the front desk was very accommodating to find the right rooms and when the group arrived they experienced the same welcome and service I've come to appreciate over the past couple of years. We also enjoy the Copper Chimney restaurant where the service is equally good and the dining experience most pleasurable.

Accommodations were above average but not exceptional as I would have expected. I was unpleasantly surprised that I had pre-paid for the stay at an higher rate that quite frankly should have included some additional amenities. I was never offered anything. Though I was had single occupancy the room was very small directly across from the elevator. I would have expected an opportunity to choose floors and locations since the facility did not appear to be sold out. I had previously stayed at this location that was certainly a memorable occasion as a frequent traveler. Overall I was highly disappointed with every aspect including exorbitant charges, no added amenities and so-so concierge services!

This is a lovely hotel...quiet and very comfortable, with excellent friendly and competent staff. Great location....walkable to everywhere. We came for a three day conference; walked to see a theatre performance, walked to shopping, restaurants, and more. This hotel reminds me of European hotels, and is perfect when travelling with three adults. The closed off bedroom gives some privacy. Very nice hotel, indeed.

PROS: The best thing about this hotel is the staff. The front desk staff along with the concierge and doorman were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff in the breakfast room were also lovely although we found the service slow. The location of this hotel was very good, only 5 minutes walk from the conference centre/harbour and the main street shopping however the immediate surroundings weren't great. CONS: When I say breakfast room, I should clarify that it is essentially an Indian restaurant/bar by night, breakfast room by day. When we went looking for the hotel bar on our first night (normally the heart and soul of a hotel), we were shown into the Indian Restaurant that had some high tables for drinks adjacent to the bar. If you don't like the strong smell of Indian food wafting by you while you relax and have a drink, tough luck! There is no separation between bar/restaurant and it's an open kitchen. The whole area is very small for the size of the hotel (a separate hotel bar is a must). The air con in the room was very irritating and would wake us up in the middle of the night as it came on intermittently. The cleanliness/room service was not up to scratch (thick layer of dust on the coffee machine, no water replenished in mini bar, black mark on the pillow). Lastly, the gym is a bit of a joke for a 4 star hotel: A dark, tiny room with 3 or 4 machines, doesn't exactly inspire you to exercise. Forget about the gym and go out for a run by the harbour instead!
