When it debuted at the height of the Roaring Twenties, Rosewood Hotel Georgia established itself as the Canadian destination for entertainment royalty. Marlene Dietrich showed up with 40 of her suitcases, John Wayne sauntered over the threshold, and Bing Crosby topped a never-ending list of headline entertainers. British Columbia’s top radio station, CKWX, broadcasted from the penthouse for more than a decade. Today, after a 2011 renovation, old-world touches still glimmer in a thoroughly modern hotel, a revival of the Golden Age of Travel. There’s a funky, mosaic-tiled indoor pool and a gourmet room service menu that serves late into the night (you can thank Audrey Hepburn’s list of demands for that one).

I stayed here over New Years week with my family of four in two connecting rooms. We had an outstanding stay. The hotel is a classic building that has been completely updated to a high standard. The food and service were excellent. The main floor was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The hotel has been awarded two Michelin Keys which I think is well-deserved. A couple minor points: there were not any doormen at any of the doors which I found odd for this type of establishment, especially in winter when guests often have their hands full with umbrellas and overcoats, etc. Also, a couple of the lights in our kids’ room kept going on in the middle of the night for no reason. I ended up unplugging these lights before bedtime each night. We look forward to staying here again.

The hotel Georgia has always been a favourite and drinks at the lobby bar are always excellent. We came in today for cocktails after shopping nearby and the service was excellent. Ian took wonderful care of us, and we couldn’t have felt more welcome.

My family stayed in the rosewood thanksgiving weekend. It was great and the best part was breakfast. We spent the mornings in the 1927 lounge. We had the whole week to try all the delicious options but the best part was our server Leanne. If she's not a manager well she should be. She was always super knowledgeable, and friendly, always knew everything on the menu, and had everything on the table without ever having to ask. She was the most smart, charming, hospitable server in the hotel and we personally requested her each morning. Good job Leanne!!

Just returned from a six night stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived until we departed, we were simply amazed at the high quality service and environment. We has reserved one of the premium corner rooms but were upgraded to a junior suite at check in. The contemporary, spacious and very comfortable room was a welcome retreat after a day of exploring Vancouver. The room faced the courtyard and was very quiet. Not a single detail is overlooked to make one's stay exceptional. Highly recommended and looking forward to returning.

We stayed for one night, before a cruise in a king courtyard view room. The welcome at the hotel was exceptional and although it was only 12 o’clock we were told that the room was ready for us. ( thanks Jackie ) However on entering the room on floor three we were faced with a concrete wall of a Fountain with the water gushing over, although the noise was not too disturbing. The bar/restaurant with people in also could see into our room so we had to close the curtains for privacy. Our room was beautifully appointed with every luxury imaginable and the bed was huge and super comfortable we slept really well. We also tried to book a city tour on a trolley ( as this went to English Bay and around Stanley Park ) with the concierge only to find out he had booked us on the big bus trip instead which was full when we tried to get on. We therefore purchased a trolley tour ticket and managed to get a refund from big bus, relief ! A slight annoyance and breakdown in communication. We had happy hour drinks in the garden terrace which were lovely and our server was extremely attentive. It would have been nice to know that the lift that takes you to the conservatory does not stop at any of the residents floors ( despite buttons to the contrary ) and we spent a good 10 minutes going up and down before someone told us this. We also came back and had drinks in the Georgia bar with entertainment as it was Friday evening, again the staff could not do enough for us. We had breakfast in the 1927 lounge and this was a little strange to be eating from sofas but again the staff were attentive even if the breakfast was a little slow in arriving. The Rosewood is clearly a beautiful hotel in a nice area of central Vancouver. Would I stay again? it depends on the price of the room as there are a lot of other high-end hotels within 2 to 3 minute walk. I would rate it 4.5 based on my slight niggles above.
