About the Hotel

When it debuted at the height of the Roaring Twenties, Rosewood Hotel Georgia established itself as the Canadian destination for entertainment royalty. Marlene Dietrich showed up with 40 of her suitcases, John Wayne sauntered over the threshold, and Bing Crosby topped a never-ending list of headline entertainers. British Columbia’s top radio station, CKWX, broadcasted from the penthouse for more than a decade. Today, after a 2011 renovation, old-world touches still glimmer in a thoroughly modern hotel, a revival of the Golden Age of Travel. There’s a funky, mosaic-tiled indoor pool and a gourmet room service menu that serves late into the night (you can thank Audrey Hepburn’s list of demands for that one).

Perfection!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Such a majestic and timeless hotel. Friendly staff! Impeccable design! Every luxury provided. Spacious and immaculate rooms. The breakfast at Reflections was in a HAPPY setting…Dinner in the 1926 lounge was perfection! We can not say enough positive about this place. We had a magnificent stay and just wish it could be another week!

Sub-standard with the Rosewood brand

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Unfortunately, my recent stay at Rosewood Hotel Georgia was inconsistent with the standards traditionally associated with the Rosewood brand. While the hotel itself remains architecturally beautiful and well located, the operational execution throughout our stay repeatedly fell short of expectations. The most significant example occurred during breakfast. Our party of four waited more than 30 minutes simply to be seated. Once seated, we waited an additional 20 minutes before anyone properly took our order, followed by more than 45 minutes before our meals arrived. In total, we spent well over one hour before breakfast was finally served. The delay was so extensive that our table watched the entire FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Venezuela—from the pre-match coverage through the final whistle—while waiting for breakfast. When the food finally arrived, portions of the order were incorrect, requiring further correction after an already excessive delay. A luxury hotel can occasionally experience a busy morning. However, what separates a five-star operation from an ordinary hotel is not the absence of challenges, but the ability of management and staff to recognize service failures, communicate proactively, recover gracefully, and ensure guests never feel forgotten. This Was Not an Isolated Incident Unfortunately, this experience reflected a pattern that continued throughout the stay.

Would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful place to stay. The location is good, but the hotel itself is what is most amazing. The staff was especially terrific. We used the concierge service for recommendations and directions a few times and they were always a huge help! We only dined there once but the food was delicious. Our room was very nice. We had a sitting area which gave us some room to spread out a little since we stayed for 4 nights.

Lovely downtown location: check rates regularly

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Great place to relax in the heart of downtown. Fantastic upgrade to this hotel, having stayed there over 20 years ago. The bar and rooms scream luxury. Staff are very attentive and we were given a small room upgrade upon check in. Room amenities include generous Diptyque products and great interior design. Drawbacks are that the rooms are noisy due to its location. Also the main bar in reception is lovely but small. Great gym and poolside experience. The hotel initially charged us a high room fee on their website. We looked into rates a few months before our original booking. Saw that the rooms were literally half price so cancelled and re-booked at the cheaper rate.
