Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
When it debuted at the height of the Roaring Twenties, Rosewood Hotel Georgia established itself as the Canadian destination for entertainment royalty. Marlene Dietrich showed up with 40 of her suitcases, John Wayne sauntered over the threshold, and Bing Crosby topped a never-ending list of headline entertainers. British Columbia’s top radio station, CKWX, broadcasted from the penthouse for more than a decade. Today, after a 2011 renovation, old-world touches still glimmer in a thoroughly modern hotel, a revival of the Golden Age of Travel. There’s a funky, mosaic-tiled indoor pool and a gourmet room service menu that serves late into the night (you can thank Audrey Hepburn’s list of demands for that one).
Order a buttery, homemade pastry from Bel Café. Follow it with a handful of confetti-colored macaroons (it’s OK, you’ve already had breakfast!) Resist Vancouver’s urban pull and head to the wilderness just outside the city: Stanley Park teems with old-growth forests and craggy beaches, and its home to the Vancouver Aquarium. Glimpse Canada’s underwater residents, then head back to the hotel for a delectable meal – Hawksworth is the three-time winner of Vancouver Magazine’s Best Upscale Restaurant award.

Reviews for Rosewood Hotel Georgia
From the moment I stepped foot on the outside pavement of the Hotel I was greeted by the friendliest of staff. Relaxed elegance with VIP treatment for all guests. Excellent facilities - worth mentioning the full equipped gym and the luxurious spa.

In spite of the fact that I stayed at this hotel as part of a conference, I was pleasantly surprised at the service and the quality of the room. The room was well laid out and designed smartly. The bathroom was quite spacious for a downtown hotel. Room amenities were extensive, including a Nespresso machine which seems to be the new norm in hotels these days. I had a very comfortable sleep on the bed. Service was very warm, friendly and efficient.

Despite working across the street, it’s been some time since I have enjoyed a drink at the Rosewood. I was exhausted, and sank into the plush arm chairs and pillows. Ironically, I become re-energized instead of lethargic. Descriptive words that burst into my head: elegance, history, luxury, sophisticated, ornate, classic. Our waitress was delightful. I cannot even say “superb customer service.” She just was sincere and congenial, welcoming guests into her luxurious home’s entertainment room. We only ordered a drink each, enamoured in conversation. Sometimes lounge staff may become annoyed, but I only felt welcomed. I promise to return to order more cocktails as each moment in the Rosewood was delightful.
We LOVE this hotel! It was amazing. The rooms were modern, clean with comfortable beds. Nespresso coffee in room. The hotel bar lounge was warm and cozy and wait staff was friendly. I found a beautiful BC wine called Burrowing Owl (the Syrah they served was divine) and we enjoyed it frequently during our stay. The hotel concierge were all knowledgeable and quite helpful. The fitness center and pool were clean and specious. On our last night before departure, the guest services staff left a delicious chocolate cake in our room for our 10th Anniversary! I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!!! A must stay if you're in Vancouver. Oh.... and the courteous hotel car is a Bentley if you need a quick ride somewhere! Love Rosewood Hotel Georgia!!
One of the best hotel experiences with luxurious room amenities with the best bathroom we've ever seen in a hotel. Although we had a standard room, it was so large, it felt like a suite. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The location was perfect in the center of the downtown area close to everything.
