Loden Vancouver in Vancouver, British Columbia

Poised at the edge of Coal Harbour in lovely downtown Vancouver is the newly-opened Loden Vancouver hotel, part of Kor Hotel Group's urban portfolio and its first foray into the Canadian market. Loden Vancouver's modern design, inspired by the region's cascading mountains and placid waterways, is a city skyline standout with a mix of gleaming curved glass, natural stone and copper positioned to mimic ocean waves. The compilation of spacious guest rooms and suites are meticulously appointed in a soothing palette of chocolaty earth tones and rich caramels, coupled with an assortment of amenities. Little details, such as heated bathroom floors and fully-stocked private bars, provide that extra element of comfort and luxury.

This urbane retreat is also home to Voya, a destination restaurant and bar with a menu of West Coast cuisine and chilled libations. The intimate dining room and lounge boasts a hip motif of ice-blue hues, bold pattern screens, oversize mirrors and sleek white-lacquered tables - all illuminated by a trio of crystal chandeliers. The restaurant is also eco-friendly and part of a sustainable program that promotes green practices. Indulge behind the doors of the intimate spa suite, where a selection of customized aesthetic treatments and a menu of massage techniques await. You will also find a state-of-the-art fitness room with 24-hour access. Beyond the hotel lobby is where you will find many diverse neighborhoods teeming with museums, galleries and fabulous shops. Granville Island, a nearby Vancouver landmark, with its public market, culinary finds and unusual street performers, should not be missed when you stay at Loden Vancouver.

Stayed in the hotel for two nights this past weekend and I must say it was excellent. The Service was phenomenal, the staff friendly and efficient, and the room itself was gorgeous. I would stay here again anytime!

The Loden was wonderful, and we very much enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful and responsive, and the rooms were very nice, quiet, and beautiful. Only one complaint, really, which was that the mattress pad was oddly small for the bed, and kept slipping off the corners. We mentioned it to management, thinking that it might be the wrong size, and while housekeeping clearly adjusted it, it was still the same one, with the same issue. But really, a very minor quibble for an otherwise very nice experience. The cafe in the front lobby is a great place for morning tea and breakfast, and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay, and felt that the price was quite reasonable for the level of accommodations and service provided, especially taking the location into consideration.

I travel a lot both for work and for pleasure so I have had my fair share of stays in hotels of all sorts across the globe. By far the Loden exceed my expectations and I would consider it one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Location: The hotel is centrally located in a prime area of Downtown Vancouver. It's several blocks from the Olympic Cauldron and Canada Place. Everything is walkable from this hotel and I did not once jump in a taxi (although they do offer a complimentary London styled black cab service that I never took). While it's downtown, it's not on a major thoroughfare so the street is quiet. If you are taking the Canada Line to and from the airport, it's only a very short 10 min walk from the city center station. Rooms: My king room was large and you can comfortably fit two people without feeling cramped. Large floor to ceiling windows, a workstation and a corner sofa help round out the room. There are cool features like a sliding door between the bathroom and bedroom so you can watch TV while getting ready. The soaker tub was amazing and I used it every night while i was there. Amenities are Molton Brown and they even provide a lovely reed diffuser in the bathroom. One feature that couples may get excited about are his and hers closets to hang your clothing. And for the techies...super fast wifi! Yes you can watch videos without losing connection. Such a struggle for the large hotel groups, not sure why. The bed with feather pillows and comforter were amazing and super comfy. While I find that sometimes I have a hard time sleeping in hotels, I slept like a baby here. Service: I think what makes or breaks a hotel stay is the service. Customers come first at this hotel and everyone at the front desk is welcoming, friendly and genuinely want to make sure you have a great stay. They accommodated me on special requests and were able to help with directions, suggestions, etc. The hotel even provides complimentary bikes so you can take that ride around Stanley Park (make sure to reserve ahead of time!). Everyone always had a smile. It makes such a huge difference. When I return to Vancouver, I will not hesitate to book at the Loden again. If you want a boutique experience with special attention to service this is it. I am looking forward to coming back again soon.

Great service, great room, just wish it had a pool, and that we could have stayed longer! However it was upscale and felt very 'Las Vegas' with its opulent finishes, a good step up from a regular hotel room.
