I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights visiting from the UK. It is a nice hotel with a lot of quality aspects. The staff were very helpful and I found breakfast to be decent. The room was relatively clean and I did not have any issues during my stay. The location is great and you can be at the waterfront within 10 minutes or hop on a train or bus very easily. We had a corner room and while you can hear the odd police siren or noisy car, it is very light and I had no issues sleeping. My only snag with this hotel is with the swimming pool area. It is sold as a luxury hotel but the ceiling in the pool area is leaking. There are paint bubbles forming and the water actually drips into the pool when it rains. At one end of the pool there is a temporary partition which looks like it has been there for some time. If I was in charge of this hotel I would close the pool area until it can be renovated because it is not up to a good standard and does dent the rest of the hotel if you happen to visit the area. But as I say I would stay again and I did swim in the pool. The water appeared to be clean.

After driving for two days, we were excited for our first stay at a Fairmont and really looked forward to the room and amenities. The hotel parking is in a convenient location, but at $75 per day on top of a $350/night room felt unreasonable. The lobby and public restrooms are gorgeous and give a true luxury impression. The elevators were fast, with four running, so wait times were minimal. Unfortunately, our room was placed at the very end of a long hallway. We checked out the amenities right away. The gym was excellent—clean and very well equipped. However, the pool area was disappointing: very plain and currently under renovation. The room itself felt overpriced for the condition. It had an older look, the AC was really weak (we prefer a colder room), and there was no microwave to heat up leftovers, which was inconvinient Overall, the stay didn’t quite match the premium price we paid.

This is a great hotel. Diana at the front desk gives exceptional service. We had a very late flight out the day of our departure. The hotel was very accommodating with a late checkout and allowing gym access for the day. I love the classic comfortable feel of the interior. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. We will be staying here again.

Stayed here recently and booked one of those package deals that is supposed to come with a few added benefits: daily breakfast for two, $100 property credit, welcome amenity, Wi-Fi, room upgrade at check-in, and early check-in/late check-out if available. The hotel itself is nice enough and the location is excellent for exploring downtown. No complaints there. What really brought the rating down was the handling of the package perks. The “room upgrade” turned out to be just placing me on a higher floor, which felt like a stretch to call an upgrade. The late check-out was only an extra hour and only after I specifically asked for it. The welcome amenity was never a thing. The $100 USD (~$130 CAD) property credit was also a bit of a hassle. We used it for in-room dining, and I had to remind staff to apply it, otherwise it would have ended up on the final bill. If I had used online check-out, I am pretty sure I would have been charged. Also found it strange that the credit includes service and delivery fees, but not gratuities. Overall, it was an OK stay, but the experience definitely did not match the promises of the package.
