Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Just terrible from the word go. It’s a dated property with some rooms recently having been renovated. However the renovations mean the showers barely have any pressure. The carpets are not fitted correctly and have metal nails coming out of them, the bath tub looks terrible caulked. And to top it off the service is weak at best. This morning there was a 30min queue for breakfast with dozens of people waiting. Meanwhile half the breakfast tables were empty - there clearly isn’t enough staff to manage. Or the staff are not efficient and seating people. Having stayed in many Fairmonts, this one should not be one. It is deeply unrefined. This is a 3 star at best, and not worth the money.

This was a beautiful hotel with spectacular amenities. They were the most comfortable beds!

Excellent location-easy walk to Stanley Park, restaurants and late night bakeries. Beautiful room, comfortable bed and luxurious toiletries. Temperature control in room worked perfectly. It was a splurge but worth it.

Stayed here for a night after our rocky mountaineer ride. The hotel is understand ly grand and classy. Service is nice and good. The only strange incident was during breakfast when we were placed right at the entrance of the restaurant when there were obviously table elsewhere. We asked and were told those were not available , only for the very n XY guest to be placed there. Maybe we have to dress up grand and classy next time or maybe it’s something else. But I’m not too impressed but such things and so my 1 star less.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the beginning of our Rocky Mountaineer vacation through Canada. The room was quite comfortable although the bathroom was small. We had access to the Fairmont Gold lounge for breakfast and snacks throughout the day. The staff was quite welcoming and accommodating. Everyone was friendly and respectful. It was a very convenient location for activities in downtown Vancouver. Fairmont is a standard we have come to rely on for a comfortable, welcoming stay.
