We got a suite upgrade using my Fairmont e certificate. However the suite was not very nice because (1) it was on the second floor where the pool is. So whenever one passes the elevator area there is a strong chlorine odor. (2) the suite was nice enough but the bathroom was tiny (in relation to the siite). The President's Platinum Club so-called welcoming gift was a joke(??). A wine glass with a few M&Ms, gunmy bears and 2-3 short red licorice candies. Other times and at other Fairmonts we've had fresh fruits, chocolate-dipped strawberries, small pastries etc. We booked bed-and-breakfast stay this time. The choice of buffet items were fine. Somehow it was the lack of attention to details that bothered me. The waiter on Dec 8 breakfast was friendly. But after bringing me the omelette he would walk by our table several times and not taking away the used plates. Also all the salt and pepper shakers were removed from the tables and he never asked if we needed salt or pepper. The second breakfast on Dec 9 was a bit worse. We sat dowm and nobody came and so we proceeded to get the food from the buffet. When we returned there was still no wait staff bringing coffee or juice. It was good to have a couple of dim sum choices (har gow and sui mai) at the buffet. Anyone who is familiar with dim sum would know that one usually eats har gow (shrimp dumpling) with a bit of mustard. First morning there was some chili oil and soy sauce. Second morning, not even the hot sauce. Overall experience was not bad. As I said before the Fairmont in Jasper, Alberta is exemplary in terms of service and staff efficiency. Other Fairmont managers should learn from the JPL.

Stayed here because we had a work Christmas party and didn’t want to drive home The hotel itself is gorgeous. Centrally located. The banquet facility was excellent The room was average. The smallest bathroom I have ever seen in any hotel!! No counter space the sink is so close to shower I can brush my teeth and shower at the same time. The walls are thin I could here some other guests having a good time (wink wink) No wifi For the price I wouldn’t stay again there are many other options

We have been staying at the Hotel Vancouver for many years and it just gets better and better. The rooms have been upgraded with nice new bathrooms and Notch8 restaurant is now on a par with the restaurant at the Pacific Rim.

My daughter and I spent a night to celebrate her 8th birthday. What an experience! Yuki and the Gold Team went way above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Their attention to detail to personalize the experience was fantastic. This classic hotel isn’t modern and sleek but it has- without a doubt- the best service ever. Not our first trip- and it definitely won’t be our last.

This hotel is amazing and even more so at Christmas when it is so beautifully decorated. Service is impeccable and the location is ideal. It is close to shopping and great restaurants. Great staff and 2 lovely dogs!
