When we come to Vancouver we always try to stay at the Hotel Vancouver on the Gold Level. We are treated like friends when we arrive and during our stay. The service is exemplary...really can’t be improved upon. On our last stay we enjoyed a suite upgrade...I should say SWEET upgrade! It was a beautiful room. The Gold Level lounge is comfortable and fully stocked with something yummy at all times. We love the breakfasts and appetizer spreads. Scones in the afternoon with a latte or pot of tea is always appreciated. I love the classic elegance of the Hotel Vancouver. I know they are working on some major renos...but I hope they can keep the vintage theme and feel. It is what separates them apart from all the other hotels. Thanks to Darren and his wonderful team. We ❤️ Hotel Vancouver.

Stayed for three nights and very pleased. Checkin was quick and any call I made to the front desk (wake-up call requests, general inquiries etc.) was very professional. Beds are super comfy and the location is fantastic. I was surprised that there was no docking station for iphones in the room, given how up-to-date the hotel seems, but there is a CD player so if you want to listen to music be sure to travel back in time to get those CDs you got rid of years ago lol! Good size pool and they also have a "hot" pool, but it's literally 1 foot deep. It was still enjoyable though when I was soaking wet and chilled to the bone from the typical Vancouver rain. The hotel restaurant Noche8 isn't great, but I don't fault the hotel for that. Stayed at the hotel for three nights, two nights for business and one for "me" time. The conference rooms are very nice and the catering for the work stuff was quite good so would definitely recommend if you're considering this hotel for an event-venue.

Our stay included an airport pick up by a very friendly diver, a good start after a long flight from the UK. An easy friendly check in and then straight to our room to unpack. The room was fine, it was a standard fairmont room and was fairly spacious. Although the bathroom was a little small, it was adequate. The temperature guage in the room didn’t seem to work and whilst the temperature was just about OK it was quite ‘cool’ in the room. We didn’t question it, as we thought perhaps there was a maximum temperature in the rooms. We only had one meal and drink at the hotel (Notch8) during our stay as we found prices quite steep. We had sliders (one salmon, one pulled pork and one beef) but the beef and salmon ones were not to our taste I am afraid. We usually ended up going to the food hall in the mall across the road to grab a sandwich (a variety of hot food was also available). We did try breakfast at the Bellagio cafe, as recommended by the Concierge, it was good but again not cheap. To be fair we did find Vancouver quite an expensive city in general so I’m sure the hotel food prices were competitive for the city. All the hotel staff we met were very friendly this included the reception desk, the housekeepers, the waiters/waitresses at Notch8 and those at the concierge desk. I have one comment to make about the directions given to us by a gentleman at the concierge desk when we needed to pick up a few buses (2 of the free shuttle buses - one to Grouse Mountain and the other to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and also when picking up one of the buses for a paid hop on hop off tour). The directions were clear and I’m sure the concierge team have to give them time and time again but on both occasions we found ourselves waiting in slightly the wrong place, the main reason was because we didn’t see or recognise the correct bus signs (which are small in themselves). Just a thought, but perhaps it’s worth taking a quick photo of the bus signs and these can be shown or sent by email to the guests (who are interested) - with the statement ”this is the bus stop you need”. I’m afraid you have to literally “spell it out” to some of us less than worldly wise guests! The above comments relate to only minor issues and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Normally don’t stay at airport hotels - this is an exception. I slept 9 hours straight in what has to be one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. Staff from first contact - luggage handling to check in are warm, welcoming and attentive. Enjoyed dinner with some colleagues - Tuna was great, nice wine selection. Breakfast and mtg rooms equally good - This is a super location for drop in day mtgs and overnight.

Great hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Although there were not many restaurants close by, great shopping was in close proximity. The food at Notch8 was the best.. Highly recommended. The waterfront was a short walk away.
