Amazing

I loved absolutely everything about this hotel. Very big, clean, beautiful room, the most comfortable bed, huge bathroom with both shower and bathtub, double sink, bidet, everything you need to have the perfect vacation. The staff is very nice and helpful, the indoor pool is heated and the warm water gave us the opportunity to play in the pool with our ten month-old baby (I don’t know, maybe the outdoor pool is heated as well but we didn’t try it because it was still a little cold outside). The restaurants have a wide variety of dishes, all of them delicious, and snack bars (with pizza or burgers) open for a long period of time, so you can’t be hungry at Melia. The first time we stayed at Melia was in 2017 and we came as a young couple, 7 years later we came with our baby and both of the times we had a wonderful time, so this place is perfect for both couples and families. We cannot wait to visit Melia again!

Perfect Easter holiday 🥳

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Everything was good but the animation team was realy wonderful🫶. The Kids (3 1/2 y and 5y) were attracted to play, to dance and to have fun almost the entire day. They have solutions for every situation, even for the bad weather. Therefore, we (the adults) have time to breath and to enjoy also the holiday. Big thank you! See you!

Don’t go end of season.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

We had several issues all down to being end of the season, which did spoil the holiday and it was the first time that my kids asked to go home early. Biggest issue was that there was nothing for kids 10-15 to do No clubs (unless they was up to 12 and wanted to be with very tiny kids in kid club) My son (14) wanted to join in with adult games like darts The rep said No and he should go on slides And that there is no longer a teenage schedule I asked what can he do to enjoy? And his reply was swim and slides I was shocked, how ever I spoke to customer service and they assured me that it’s okay for him to take part. Next day I asked if he can play and the answer was NO again And at this point he was upset and he would not dare ask again as was embarrassed. Entertainment stage…. As end of season moved to pool bar So no shows just karoke, DJ, solo singer etc We didn’t get the big shows on the entertainment stage as promised online We booked Italian and was amazing We booked the American restaurant but the hotel didn’t inform anyone that this was cancelled and this American restaurant was now open to everyone as they have rented out the main restaurant to a private booking….and it was just normal food…. I asked the staff member and she said come back tomorrow and we will still let you in, so we did and once again American night cancelled I was gutted as my kids was excited about this. ROOMS adjust great and big FOOD great choice cooked well (shame about USA booking) POOLS clean and decent size SNACK BARS amazing pizza, panini and burgers. We were just disappointed that when we read trip advisor we see… Great animation team, great shows, But as end of season they didn’t care. I expected the same standard all year around from day 1 to last day. But this didn’t happen and that’s the words from the staff saying because it’s end of season. We was Very disappointed….. would I recommend the hotel overall though just not end of season But I definitely would not visit as really didn’t think that they cared even when I asked for help.

Loved this hotel and the trip - brilliant fun and amazing value

I'm sat by the pool on my final evening here writing this review. Usually I'd wait til I get home to write a review, but the trip was so good I thought why wait. The Melia Grand Hermitage is about a 25 min ride from the airport in Varna. You get here, and straight away you're taken back by the scale of the hotel. It's massive, like Vegas hotel size massive. I stayed with my pal, and we went fully inclusive for a week. Can't fault anything. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels. The pool and bars are good, and the food/drink is very good quality. The sheer quantity of selection on the food is massive, and all very nice. There's also an American diner and Italian restaurant included as part of the fully inclusive, you just need to pre book to go there. The food in all 3 places is lovely. The local area is very nice too, and just down the hill from the hotel (shortcut via the pool) is a long strip of shops, arcades, bars, etc, all on a stunning beachfront. The ONLY things I would say to watch here are: - don't get stuff out the minibar unless you wanna pay, we took the toblerone and pringles off the top which we thought were complimentary, but we're not - seagulls are pests, and in the afternoon there's load of them flying around the pool area, scavenging for food These are minor things though, the hotel is epic. I'd defo come back. In terms of people here, we only saw a couple of other Brits (no bad thing) during the week here, the vast majority of people seem to be German, Polish, Romanian, Greek, or Bulgarian. Best thing we did when here was an excursion we booked on the strip. It was a boat trip that offers fishing, alcohol, and swimming in the sea. It was about 65 Lev per person, so about £30 give or take... you get picked up on this rackety old minibus, BUT it's well worth it, as when you get on the boat the booze is all inclusive, and the swimming is fantastic - there is also a BBQ on the boat, all included, as is the fishing if you choose to fish. You can also jump off the boat from the back or the top deck. For the money this trip costs, it is a superb day out and would highly recommend! Nothing other to say than very impressed with Bulgaria, the Melia Grand Hermitage, and the local amenities, I'll defo be back!!!

Birthday trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

The staff at this hotel are so professional. I have celiac disease and they was so attentive and ensured I was catered for. Young lady in restaurant called her manager to advise I needed some assistance. All holiday this continued, the sous chef, hospitality manager and the young lady outstanding. My birthday I was presented with a gluten free cake, card, rose and sang happy birthday by staff in the Italian restaurant. Wine and cake in the room, what memories I take away. Morey from the bar so kind and attentive. Asked if I would like any food made especially me which they did when we didn’t stay in buffet. Room’s beautiful, clean, so much to do and the Turkish massage amazing. Thank you all so much for an amazing time.
