About the Hotel

On the edge of the Grand Canal, five-star Ca' Sagredo Hotel holds the legacy of one of the most prominent noble families in Venice. The Sagredos bought the palace in the middle of the 17th Century and assembled an art collection of more than 800 paintings and 2,000 drawings dating from the Renaissance. Original art and antiques envelop guests during a stay that's more akin to time travel than a holiday. Upgrade to a suite for even plusher surroundings – the towering wardrobes in the Library Suite used to house Zaccaria Sagredo's literary collection.

Reviews for Ca' Sagredo Hotel

Appreciate the great staff!

I personally work for a Hyatt hotel in the USA. When traveling to Italy with my fiancé I was looking for hotels it stay in Venice. This hotel is apart of one of the Hyatt collections so I reached out to the General Manager to see if they could offer a discounted rate. She got me in touch with Stefano who helped arrange an amazing rate with breakfast for my fiancé and I. A little goodie was left in our room as well! Nicola at the desk was great as well. We were having trouble paying the water taxi with credit card due to wifi issues and was able to help take care of us. Terrace overlooking the Canal is lovely as well to grab dinner and drinks! One of the best views in Venice!

Unique palazzo hotel

We stayed at hotel Ca Sagredo last week (26th feb – 4th Mar). We had a wonderful experience at Ca Sagredo. When we arrived we were greeted by Niccolla who was very welcoming and professional, and was kind enough to offer us an upgraded room which we really appreciated. All the staff who we met displayed a level of friendliness ad professionalism that is rare to see these days. The hotel has a unique atmosphere that is complimented by the care that the staff offer to the guests. The hotel is situated right on the Grand Canal and it’s an easy 20 minute walk to St. Mark’s square. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and bars in the area. The food at the hotel is of a high standard and the breakfast buffet is very good with lots on offer (and if there is something you want that isn’t on the buffet the staff will make it for you). Our room was extremely comfortable and immaculately cleaned every day. We recommend his hotel.

Beautiful ancient palace on the Grand Canal

We stayed here for my 50th birthday in December and fell in love with both the hotel and Venice. We booked through Easyjet as a package. We were so lucky with the weather – bright blue skies every day. Great service from when we arrived. We got there in the morning - much too early to check-in but they got our room ready so we only had to wait a few minutes. It was nice to unpack before we went back out. Our room was on the side of the hotel and you could see the gondola station (we took a ride on the morning of my birthday) and canal if you leant out of the window. We had a large room with separate sitting area and dressing room. It was beautifully decorated – whilst a little old fashioned, it was very much in the venetian style. Very clean and we liked the evening turn-down. Service was excellent – particularly at breakfast when the server welcomed us each morning and remembered our coffee orders. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room with painted ceilings and had a good selection of hot and cold food and lots of lovely local specialities - cakes, meats and cheese. If you want a fry-up I suggest you stay in the UK! A nice touch was the vintage prosecco that was included. The hotel even provided us with a free private taxi to the islands of Murano and Burano where you got a tour of the glass factory and the lace shop. I think they hope you might spend money there but there is no obligation to. It was a nice touch. Venice itself at this time of year was fairly quiet and local restaurants and cafes surprisingly inexpensive (if you avoid the main square). Some great negronis - they don't do English measures! We also loved seeing all the people dressed as Santa Claus on the canals. My recommendation is to book a private water taxi to get there – great experience and we really did arrive in style. Coffee in the bar at the hotel was very expensive so avoid - there are plenty of places just outside the hotel. I have seen previous reviews saying that the hotel looks a bit tired but I guess we would all look a little bit tired if we were that old! We thought it was stunning and tbh, most of Venice is pretty tatty – it is part of the charm of this surreal location. We will be back!

Fantastic Hotel

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was absolutely fantastic. Firstly, this used to be a palace and so the decor, the bedrooms and dining facilities are incredible. Has a royal feeling about the place. The location is superb. Less than a 10 min walk from the ferry stop from the airport (Fondamenta Nova) and you can also use this stop to catch the ferry to Murano and Burano, 2 gorgeous islands which are a must. The hotel is also close to all the tourist sites across the city. The breakfast was delicious and served by very friendly staff and to top it all off, you’re right on the grand canal, 5 mins walk from the Rialto Bridge. This hotel is 10 out of 10 for me and when my wife and I return, which we will, we won’t hesitate to come back to this hotel. Thank you Ca’Sagredo for an amazing 4 nights!

3 day mid week break

We have just come back from a wonderful stay in this hotel., for the carnival. The hotel is in a great location. Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was pleasant, and in keeping with 4 star hotel. The room had a lovely private balcony, Slightly concerned about the duck tape in the shower, which I assume was to sop any leaking water. The breakfast was really nice, and the lovely staff, especially one in particular, remembered what we had to drink from the previous day..a very nice surprise. THE HOTEL, HAS SUCH HISTORY, SUCH ELEGANCE IN THE BALLROOM..EVERY LAMP, IS MADE FROM MIRANO GLASS, A TOUCH OF SPLENDOUR. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

“It’s a nice hotel, the staff is very attentive. However, although the rooms are lovely the main lobby and rest of the hotel is really nothing special.”

“I was satisfied with our room and the service of the staff. The only disappointment was the so called light lunch included in our package which actually translated to a bowl of nuts and a bowl of chips. But on the whole it is a beautiful hotel.”

Ca' Sagredo was a delightful experience. Located on the Grand Canal, just a stone's throw from the water bus stop and with its own water taxi dock for those who prefer that method of transfer, it was easy to get to. The hotel itself is very pleasant with an outside dining area right on the canal, or a small inside dining room. We had dinner one night at the hotel and found it to be delicious. The staff was competent and pleasant, and the room comfortable and reasonably spacious. I would recommend the hotel.

The setting on the Grand Canala made our fiftieth wedding anniversary really special. The Ca' Sagredo was a perfect spot to experience the magic and romantic history of Venice. The hotel is palatial with lovely murals, exquisite floors, classical furniture, glistening chandeliers and Murano glass light fixtures. The entire hotel staff was superlative and incredibly charming and helpful. The restaurant was excellent with a lavish breakfast buffet and candlelight dinners overlooking the gondolas and boats on the canal. The piece de resistance was our rooftop terrace attached to our luxurious suite. This is a hotel to remember and re-visit.

We spent four wonderful nights at the Ca' Sagredo Hotel. We found the staff to be efficient, helpful and courteous. They were unobtrusive yet available when we needed their assistance. The room was magnificent and very comfortable. It was cleaned quickly and well each morning, usually while we were out at breakfast. We were promised the best view available on our arrival and they followed through on the promise. Our water view room was only one back from the rooms fronting the canal and since it was on the third floor, the view was stunning. The food served at breakfast was delicious, offered a wide selection, and was served in two beautiful rooms by very gracious staff. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and each staff member we encountered from our first contact to our last was wonderful. The hotel is truly a beautiful palace and we appreciate the excellent service provided by the entire staff.
