Hotel Bauer in Venice, Italy

Bauer L'Hotel melds age-old architecture with a modern design to achieve a fine expression of contemporary Venetian living. Art deco touches, hand-woven fabrics by Bevilacqua and Rubelli and sculptures made by local artisans lend a timeless feel to common spaces, while rooms are notably large and outfitted in finery – gaze up at an ornately embellished ceiling while soaking in a bath made from Italian marble.

Get lost in Venice's maze of walkways and canals. Tour the Grand Canal in a vaporetto, letting your imagination go back to the days when the waterway was teeming with merchants and cargo ships. Walk the shopping boulevard from the Rialto Bridge to St. Mark's Square. Glam up for dinner at the hotel's gourmet restaurant De Pisis, feasting on squid risotto in its black ink.

One of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. We are recommending the Bauer Hotel to everyone we know. The amenities, food, jazz lounge, concierge, staff and location are all top shelf. It really made an amazing vacation spot even better. Thank you Bauer for a wonderful stay.

Stayed at this wonderful location for just one night prior to joining a cruise. The welcome on arriving by water taxi was really special and from check-in to departure one could not ask for more. Enjoyed a light lunch served in the bar area followed by an excellent dinner in the restaurant during the evening. The members of the restaurant team were friendly and very efficient and it made for a great pre-cruise evening watching the sun set over the Grand Canal. Breakfast was a sight to behold. If you couldn't find exactly what you wanted your eating style was unusual. A fantastic selection with the option to enjoy the food while sitting at table on the terrace. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation and with luck we hope to have the pleasure to return one day. Thank you to all of the members of the Bauer team for making our short stay so special.

This hotel is truly luxurious from the entrance to the marble in the bathrooms absolutely stunning. Staff was friendly and the rooms were a generous size. There is a nightclub on the first floor which we did not get a chance to visit but the music spilling into the lobby at night was wonderful! We would sit at the rooftop bar at night which also had softer non-clubish music with a one of a kind view. The rooftop brunch was also spectacular but be sure not to leave your plate unattended the birds are feisty! The concierge also recommended some amazing local restaurants I would absolutely stay here again honestly heaven on earth.

I love this hotel & have stayed here many times, 3 times in the last year alone. If you haven't visited Venice before be aware that hotels are converted 15th century buildings so do not have the space and light of modern purpose built establishments and views are at a premium. This week I booked for friends who have never visited Venice before - they were blown away. A beautiful suite in Casa Nova ( no 16) awaited and was above expectations. There are three parts to stay at the Bauer 1. a room in the main hotel Palazzo - this can be either in the more modern art noveau style or 2. on the higher floors typical venetian decoration. 3. Casa Nova is the annex directly next door, rooms are on the whole larger and in typical venetian style. It may not suit everyone to be in an annex but I personally don't mind and it is reflected in the price. The hotels location cannot be faulted and it has the best terrace in Venice from which to eat breakfast or have a drink and watch Venice come to you. The staff are brilliant, the front of house staff who are courteous, professional and aim to please, the banqueting Manager, bar staff and concierge who make you feel part of the family. I would feel safe and comfortable staying here as a single female traveler. An added bonus is the Palladio the Bauers sister hotel on the island of Guidecca. A complimentary shuttle between the two hotels runs every few minutes. Lunch is the beautiful garden is an absolute treat and give some respite from the crowds in St Marks. Roll on September for my next "fix".
