Hotel Bauer in Venice, Italy

Bauer L'Hotel melds age-old architecture with a modern design to achieve a fine expression of contemporary Venetian living. Art deco touches, hand-woven fabrics by Bevilacqua and Rubelli and sculptures made by local artisans lend a timeless feel to common spaces, while rooms are notably large and outfitted in finery – gaze up at an ornately embellished ceiling while soaking in a bath made from Italian marble.

Get lost in Venice's maze of walkways and canals. Tour the Grand Canal in a vaporetto, letting your imagination go back to the days when the waterway was teeming with merchants and cargo ships. Walk the shopping boulevard from the Rialto Bridge to St. Mark's Square. Glam up for dinner at the hotel's gourmet restaurant De Pisis, feasting on squid risotto in its black ink.

Upon arrival we were welcomed and informed our rooms has been upgraded to suites and been given late check out. The check in staff were very warm and friendly and personally escorted us from the small check in at the front of the hotel that leads to the boat dock to our suites. Given the location of this hotel, I wasn't expecting the suites not to be very big, but these were huge! with very well appointed living room, entry way, full bathroom with spa bath! and very large bedroom. These were situated in the old part of the building which is decorated in the traditional venetian style. Bauer Palazzo is an elegantly designed hotel with true 5 star service, including staff there to hand you umbrellas if its raining without having to ask, to providing shoe covers for the flooding. The breakfast room on the 7th floor has a great selection and the staff have a great attention to detail, even remembering your coffee orders the following day without asking. Primarily the hotel has the perfect location, only minutes from the main square and gondola service immediately outside. the canal bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a sundowner albeit a little expensive after a few hours :) would recommend staying here for a unique truly Venetian experience.

This was our first time in Venice and after much research we chose the Bauer Palazzo. Great location and so convenient for all of the main attractions. The entrance lobby is spectacularly grand. We booked a superior suite and the room (No 163) on the first floor had an amazing view of the hotel's terrace and canal beyond from 3 large windows. The downside to this is that we occasionally could smell cigarette smoke in our room coming in from outside and although not a major issue now - in the height of summer with the terrace busy this could be a problem if like us, you are non-smokers. The room although nice, lacked tea/coffee making facilities and a dressing table and makeup mirror - for my wife this was an issue. The hairdryer had to be plugged in to the shaver point beside one of the sinks in the bathroom. Also no flannels are provided in the bathroom which is unusual for a hotel of this standard. The turndown service at night was a nice touch. Breakfast on the ground floor was always lovely and the choice was extensive and fresh. There is another dining area on the seventh floor which we did not have access to. PS. You must book the private transfer from the it is the only way to arrive in Venice!

Wonderful location, directly on the waters of the Canal Grande, opposite the Dogana and the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Salute. Even though it is located right in the middle of the luxury shopping area (Cartier, Hermès, Chanel, etc.), steps away from Piazza San Marco and a short walk from the Ponte dell'Accademia and the Guggenheim Collection, maybe because of its recessed position on the Calle San Moisé, it gives you the feeling of being out of the crowd, in a peaceful heavenly retreat. Everything here exudes comfort: the vast imposing hall, the unpretentiously kind staff, the spacious, old style but immaculate and elegantly appointed rooms, the rich breakfast buffet. When we asked the Consierge for advice about the dinner, he suggested a really good restaurant (the same restaurant a friend from Venice had reccommended to me some time ago), he made a reservation for us and gave us directions to get there. At breakfast I asked if there were croissant with custard and, as they were not there, I was almost instantly brought a bowl full of delicious custard. Just perfect.

I stayed here with my girlfriend over Easter , booked for a romantic long weekend and we couldnt have chosen better. We booked a room in the Palazzo part of the hotel, its got a new and old part, the palazzo overlooks the Grand Canal. We chose a room with Canal View which was awesome. The room although small was great. When you stay in the Palazzo you get to have breakfast on the 7th floor roof top terrace, you must do this, the views are amazing and the service really friendly along with resident seagulls watching your every mouthful!Concierge are great, they helped us book a couple of tours and we had lunch on the front terrace watching the world go by which was a fun way to end our trip. Good food, great friendly and helpful staff, top location a stones throw from St Marks and the hustle and bustle but far enough away to relax too. Great designer shops litter the streets right outside and a gondola ride or water taxi are easy to arrange right to and from your door. Will definitely be back, great stay, thank you to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable.

Visited Bauer hotel as part of a large group. The hotel is situated on the grand hotel, accessible by water taxis. The hotel itself was beautiful and the decor inside was breathtaking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The double rooms are very spacious and really do get a great nights sleep. It is central and only 5 minuets walk to saint marks square
