Beautiful, Historic Hotel with Incredible Service.

What a wonderful experience! My wife and I went to visit friends in Italy. The hotel reached out to me ahead of time asking about any special requests or other needs. We arrived early after flying from the US; I had no expectation of our room being ready. We were given a Grand Canal view room. There were fresh flowers and a bottle of Prosecco in the room. The staff is one of the best I have experienced. Not only would they remember my name and room number, but they would remember my drink order. I went to get my wife a coffee on the second day and the hostess asked if I wanted, "a cafe Americano to go" before I could say anything. Truly a special experience.

Elegant, luxurious, unforgettable

We were privileged to have spent two glorious days at this stunning hotel in mid January. It was as part of a celebratory birthday weekend to end our European trip. Not surprisingly it was freezing cold but a small price to pay for the crisp blue sky days we were blessed with, Watching the mist lift from the water and the sun make its way across this special city was the stuff dreams are made of. There are not enough superlatives to describe our joy at being at the unique Gritti Palace in magical Venice. From our first contact advising of the special reason for our visit, to the warm welcome by Carlotta who showed us to through our upgraded Grand Canal facing room complete with two big bunches of fresh roses, sparkling wine and fruit, everything was extraordinary! The breakfasts each morning were outstanding. I have never before been provided with a mini stool upon which to place my handbag! We sat at a table by a window overlooking the serene canal traffic and all was right in the world. You are truly transported to a different realm being in such exquisite surrounds. We arrived and left by private water taxi - what fun. We walked everywhere and also took the public ferry further afield returning to the stop steps just away from Gritti Palace. A most convenient location. The fact that we acquired this room using Bonvoy points was of no concern to anyone at Gritti Palace. We were treated equally to the full paying patrons, and there were many clearly wealthy ones around. We felt completely welcome despite being charged just the tourist tax for our entire stay! Our Platinum status helped with the upgrade and included breakfasts. Over two months later and we still revel at this was once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommended for those able to splurge. It’s pricey but definitely priceless!

Excellent hotel with a fantastic feeling of staying in an ancient palazzio. Great location, 10 mins walk to the main sights and museums of Venice. Excellent breakfasts and generally a great home cooked restaurant for lunches and dinners. Friendly and professional staff. Would recommend. Best wishes. Vladimir

Apotheosis of Hospitality

The Gritti Palace is a credit to La Dominante - graced with staff that demonstrate a finesse and attentiveness that seem to be such rare qualities. From pre-arrival arrangements, to a most hospitable greeting from Charlie, this was a stay for the ages. Great thanks for the arrangements that Paolo and Michela put into place prior to arrival, as well as Charlie, who provided such a warm reception and tour of the hotel and suite. Paolo should take great pride in the staff he's assembled, as well at the addition of the Riva elements to the hotel. Speaking of warm receptions, the Coppa Volpi Suite was prepared most kindly with a welcome arrangement of flowers, fruit and champagne. It also provided a much needed private place of relaxation at one of the high points of the season. The Riva Lounge was a delight, and Club del Doge kindly provided a front row table for a delightful sendoff dinner. Transfers were arranged without a hitch. One is reminded of the words of one of Venice’s great writers: "We Venetians give our heart to strangers. We like to treat strangers in such a way that they will all give better reports of Venice than of their own home towns." The Venetian Twins Act 1, Scene 13 Carlo Goldoni Give it a go, you’ll very likely return.
