Venice, Italy is the great monument to the Renaissance and has stood as it does today for over five hundred years. Overlooking the Grand Canal, with an incomparable view of Venice, Hotel Gritti Palace is one of the world's most celebrated hotels. The city is steeped in history, architecture and art dating from the Byzantine Empire - a series of islands connected by bridges and divided by canals of every size. Superb accommodations await guests here, where amenities are provided in an elegant and refined setting. Guest rooms and suites offer luxurious comfort in an atmosphere enhanced by antique furnishings and opulent decor. Come in winter for the decadent Carnivale, when all of the city dons a mask. Walk the streets or take a gondola down the canals, taking in the palaces, cathedrals and bridges that make this ancient city so beautiful. For the finest dining look no further than hotel's own Club Del Doge restaurant, with its sumptuous food and elegant atmosphere. In warmer months the restaurant moves outdoors to the Bellavista Terrace on the Grand Canal, facing the famous church of Santa Maria della Salute and offering a glimpse of St. Mark's. Just spent two nights here, what a great hotel. We were upgraded to the Pisani Suite, which was a real treat. First floor balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. Hotel and bar staff were very friendly and attentive. We didn't try the restaurant.

Do yourself a favour, have a drink or cocktail in Bar Longhi. We sat on the terrace, it is one of the best and most beautiful views in the world. The drinks are not cheap, but it is worth it and you will never forget it!

We had a wonderful stay at Gritti Palace earlier this month . We booked deluxe Rooms and we were upgraded to beautiful heritage suites, very venezian style. Everything is very authentic and charming. Concierge, front desk and restaurant service were perfect without any exception. Breakfast with a view not to be missed, by all means book their breakfast inclusive rates, you will not regret!!

We really enjoyed our time here and wish it could have been for longer. It is in the heart of Venice, but just enough on the edge that you are not overrun by people coming in and out. The water bus stop that is nearby is along main routes, there are gondola places nearby, and of course lots of great places to eat and drink. Venice is really one of the most iconic places to visit and, because of it's awesome location and grand exterior, the hotel itself makes for some great photos. The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help us as we were newly adjusting to the time difference and, to make a long story short, helped us from even almost forgot some of our luggage!

The Gritt’s manager and staff make this hotel exemplary. Yes, the location, food, and beautiful decor make this a rated 5 star hotel, but the test of a true 5 Star hotel is their assistance during a difficult issue. Sadly, my friend suffered a horrible accident off the hotel’s site and I can’t say enough about how helpful, warm, and sincere the entire staff were to us. The manager, Maurizio Figuccio,, not only thought of relataed issues, he took care of them. For example, he took care of canceling our flight, hospital transportation, box food for hospital stay, arranging doctor visitation, Believe me, I never could have managed such a difficult medical emergency in a foreign country where I don’t speak Italian without Maurizio’s help. Thank you to the entire Gritti hotel!
