We travel often & stay at a lot of lovely hotels, so the rating of ‘amazing’ does not come lightly from me. Stayed at Gritti as a couple in January 2018 in one of their Venetian rooms. The room was of a decent size (by European standards), very nicely appointed with good bathroom featuring full bathtub, good shower & lovely Aqua Di Prima toiletries. The room also had a very comfortable bed with quality linen. There are windows (which can be opened if you travel without children - ask hotel & they will unlock them), but keep in mind that the Venetian rooms have no views so the windows (although providing light) look over an atrium & windows on the adjacent side. Service at Gritti was amazing - everyone from staff who assisted with check in (and later with helping us work out the door lock) to those at breakfast and at the bar. All very attentive without being overbearing and always very eager to help. Hotel breakfast was decent, but perhaps with not enough variety you would find at other five star hotels. Did not try Gritti for dinner but did have a few cocktails on two occasions at Gritti’s bar along with some bar food. They have a good selection of cocktails and their club sandwich was possibly one of the best I ever had. Overall a great hotel with amazing service and lots of character. At our next stay I am definitely aiming for a Canal view room.

We stayed here twice in two weeks with a side trip in between, having stayed at this hotel many times in the past and known what to expect somehow they surprised me and managed to continue to improve the standards of service and comfort. I stay in high end hotels every month and it takes quite a bit to impress me but the way that the team at the Gritti do 5 star is beyond what i have come to expect. The spotless decor and public areas the immaculate work of the house keepers in the room cleaning, the ever friendly and helpful concierge and finally the very professional restaurant and bar staff all combine to provide an unforgettable experience, at times we felt guilty leaving the hotel to see the sites. On our second visit we stayed in the John Ruskin suite with some views of the Grand Canal a very special experience and one worth trying. Will stay here again.

Sometimes, one can get surprised by the level of luxury, even if the expectations are high to begin with. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to suites even though we reserved our rooms by SPG points, and Max made our stay one to remember for a lifetime. Walking to the Spa/Gym, one can see all the signed celebrity head shots, and it's easy to understand why. Thank you Gritti Palace!

We stayed for a night at The Gritti Palace. The Hotel is indeed a legendary hotel with beautiful palace like interior decorations. You are like living in an old palace, but everything is so new, with nice scent, beautifully installed wall papers, luxury carpets and marble bathrooms. The staff are very friendly and still giving us privacy, the toiletries are of Acqua di Parma. The Gritti Palace is famous of it's million dollar view of the Grand Canal. The breakfast terrace has un-obstructed view of the beautiful Santa Maria della Salute Basilica. However, the breakfast terrace is not always opened due to weather, we were dissapointed that the terrace was not opened during our stay due to bad weather. December is high tide (Acqua Alta) season and hence is wet and cold. As we only stayed for a night, we didn't go to the gym and spa. Walking in the narrow streets and bridges are definately nicer that doing a workout in the gym. We will try our luck again next time in Venice!
