The Gritti Palace is - without any doubt - one of the best and probably the best hotel I ever stayed in my life (till now). This is not a hotel but indeed a palace where you feel yourself king (duce) of Venice. It has everything you can dream of: the location is superb (just in the middel of the center at the main canal), the terrace is astonishing (what a view), the interior decoration is like a museum, the breakfast is enormous, the restaurant/food can't be better and the staff is highly professional but still friendly and giving the guest maximum personal attention. Okay, the room is good but not a palace - but that doesn't matter in relation to all the other fantastic aspect of this hotel. If you can afford it, please give yourself the ultimate experience of staying in The Gritti!

I feel really bad to write this review so late. I actually came to Venice with parents on December 2016. I booked two rooms with AMEX FHR, but none of them got upgrade. Anyway, the room was really beautiful, and we were satisfying with what we got. The highlight of this hotel is George, who just came to this hotel from Beijing Ritz. He was so nice and helpful, and he spoke great chinese, which made my parents really happy. Thanks a lot to George.

We visited this Hotel yesterday and it is every bit as good as the best reviews indicate. Acknowledged by the barman when we entered the bar and sat in the bar terrace overlooking the Grande Canal. Drinks promptly arrived with some nibbles. All the bar staff great as of course is the lovely setting. Moved next door to the Terrace restaurant for lunch and blown away with the service, setting, menu choices and "big" wine list. The Restaurant Floor manager was fantastic as were the support staff. Di had the salmon whilst I had the tasting platter - brilliant simple food served brilliantly. Next up was the lobster pasta and the pork chop with once again fantastic. Excellent wines by the glass selections for both courses. Then the "big" wine list as I wished to try an aged Toscana cabernet - chose a 2005 Paleo which was just stunning. The best part is I have a little left. All in all a great three hours sitting in a lovely restaurant with great food and service - up there with the best I have had Internationally. I will be back.

I can't imagine a better hotel experience in Venice. The Gritti's location is central but quite, the staff is exceptionally well trained, the rooms and common areas have been beautifully renovated and, not to be ignored, the bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever experienced. We have visited Venice several times but this was our first stay at the Gritti. We will certainly be staying here every time we visit in the future.

Without any doubt this is the best overall hotel ever stayed at. From the warm yet professional initial greeting to helpfulness of the concierge team everything was perfect. Breakfast was a real pleasure, again everything spot on and would thoroughly recommend at least a drink at The Riva bar located outside on the Grand Canal in early evening! We'll definitely be returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
