Hotel Gritti Palace in Venice, Italy
Venice, Italy is the great monument to the Renaissance and has stood as it does today for over five hundred years. Overlooking the Grand Canal, with an incomparable view of Venice, Hotel Gritti Palace is one of the world's most celebrated hotels. The city is steeped in history, architecture and art dating from the Byzantine Empire - a series of islands connected by bridges and divided by canals of every size. Commissioned in 1525 as the residence of the Doge of Venice, Hotel Gritti Palace has welcomed kings and queens, prime ministers and presidents, and elite guests with its luxuriously appointed rooms and exceptional service.
Superb accommodations await guests here, where amenities are provided in an elegant and refined setting. Guest rooms and suites offer luxurious comfort in an atmosphere enhanced by antique furnishings and opulent decor. Come in winter for the decadent Carnivale, when all of the city dons a mask. Walk the streets or take a gondola down the canals, taking in the palaces, cathedrals and bridges that make this ancient city so beautiful. For the finest dining look no further than hotel's own Club Del Doge restaurant, with its sumptuous food and elegant atmosphere. In warmer months the restaurant moves outdoors to the Bellavista Terrace on the Grand Canal, facing the famous church of Santa Maria della Salute and offering a glimpse of St. Mark's. Become a true part of Venice, at Hotel Gritti Palace.

Reviews for Hotel Gritti Palace
I fall in love with the hotel, the place, the canals, the dinners, the Florian cafe, the music, the atmosphere with everything here. The restaurant is amazing, try it... The only problem was that we lost our suitcases with Alitalia, but who cares...

I have been wanting to visit this hotel for years, but sadly it is outside our price range unless we decide to opt for a shorter stay (we usually visit Venice for at least a week at a time). On this visit, we decided to go for lunch at the canal side restaurant on our last day and it didn't disappoint. The staff, the food, the ambience and the views were all amazing. Yes it's expensive, but well worth if for a special treat. I would definitely visit again next time we're in Venice.

This was one of the 5 best hotels I have seen in the entire world. Great location with truly beautiful furnishings in the rooms and common areas. Bathroom facilities were modern. Temperature controls were great. Breakfasts were delicious. The price tag was one of the 5 highest I have ever paid but if that is not a problem for you, you will enjoy the Gritti Palace.

The location of the hotel and the view from the restaurant are the best in Venice. Our room and bathroom were beautifully decorated and clean. Overall we had an enjoyable stay. The breakfast on the terrace and the view were so enjoyable that we didn't want to get up to go explore Venice. The only negative side was the high price. However, I would go back if will be in Venice again.

If yes this hotel has got to be on it. It has a fantastic location a guest list like the hall of fame. The staff so perfect you think all your dreams of service had come true. The room you actually feel privileged to sleep in. We have traveled the world and stayed in some of the best hotels we have all heard of. But non compare to the Gritti palace it pays you back for the money you spend in the sheer pleasure of staying there
