About the Hotel

Pyotr Ilyich Tchiakovsky is one of the notable guests who have stayed at Hotel Londra Palace – he composed the first three movements of Symphony No. 4, originally titled "Do Leoni," in Room 106. Maybe the islands and 16th Century architecture he saw across the watery horizon inspired him. Rooms are individually decorated with ornate fabric walls and Biedermeier furniture, while the restaurant – named Do Leoni – serves Venetian classics under crystal chandeliers.

Reviews for Hotel Londra Palace

Excellent location but mixed bag

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

As all reviews say, the hotel is perfectly located, only a few steps from the key sights. We had a classic room which was on a smaller side but perfectly sufficient for us, beautifully decorated in an old style. The cleaning service was impeccable. The breakfast is served. The service was friendly. The choice of food was ok. If you were not satisfied with it, you could order some extras for 15-20 eur like eggs Benedict, omelette etc. The service at the reception was good, friendly. The concierge was so and so. A bit chaotic we sensed as some things we asked for prior our arrival did not materialise but ok, the manager excused himself for the misunderstanding. We were offered a gondola ride by the concierge. The 2h ride was great, although the gondolier did not explain much. But be it. Venice is nice anyway ;) However, what we did not like was the price we were asked to pay (in cash of course). We found out ex post that we were not only asked for +- 100 eur per hour more than the usual price but that this was even more than another couple in our party (they were offered by a hotel a ride with only 50 eur extra charge which I would consider more or less ok as one accepts to pay a higher price for less hassle but still in our case, 200 eur in total is a bit too much…). This left a bitter taste. Therefore, I recommend to take gondola in front or next to the hotel or somewhere else. It will cost you less. On the other hand, the hotel recommended us a nice restaurant with a view in Griti palace, with a very nice view and the food. Overall, a big mixed bag but as reviews say the location, the ambiance and service is in general very good.

Another Fantastic Stay at the Londra Palace

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

We have just returned from our third stay at the Londra Palace. The very high standard of service, comfortable rooms and gorgeous food has remained consistent. The whole team at the hotel are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The Londra Palace is a haven to return to at the end of a busy day experiencing Venice. We will definitely return to stay here again.

Hotel That Knows the Meaning of Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Simply wonderful. From the check-in to the breakfast, to the location, to the attentive service, one of the best hotels we have stayed in, in any season. Of course, the location makes it easy to wander throughout the touristy spots, but this hotel also allows you genuine respite from that. Enter the doors into a beautiful, placid, welcoming (and refreshingly cool!) atmosphere, where you are greeted by a staff adept at assisting with whatever you may need. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed; we traveled with two other couples and visited everyone's rooms, including one that had a spectacular view the lagoon. While that was not our room, we did have a quintessential view of the Venetian rooftops and balconies on other buildings around us. The linens were very plush, and very welcoming after a day of exploration. The staff was exceptional; from dinner reservations, to water taxi transport, to mixing an Aperol Spritz, this hotel knows how to do it right. I would stay here again in a minute.

Lovely hotel in a GREAT location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

This was one of the most iconic and special hotels I have stayed. Great location on the main promonade and steps away from St Marks;'s Square. The water taxi's and goldola's are directly in front of the building. We had a balcony overlooking the sea and walkway. The restaruant was also very lovely and the food was good. The bartender was one of the most professional I have had ever encountered!
