Nothing, Absolutely Nothing the Staff will not do for you!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

The Concierge service & staff is the best we have EVER experienced in all our 20 years of travel. Bar None! 5 star+++ Staff, food, room and entire facilities cleaned and spotless. Venice is “overrunning” with tourists. Thank goodness we had the quiet and calm of the hotel to return to in the middle of the day and evening. Much praise for the individual service we had each evening for happy hour ( never more than 4 to 5 guests). By second evening our bartender was just bringing our drinks as we were sitting down. Wonderful taxi service straight to hotel private canal entrance. No dragging suitcases! What a hot mess seeing this coming and going all day long all over Venice.

V good hotel slightly let down by the staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

A slightly mixed experience, with the Staff, always a vital ingredient falling short in our opinion. The pros: rooms were of a good size and the hotel is brilliantly positioned at the end of the Grand Canal. Arriving by water taxi straight to the hotel pier was really special and took any hassle of walking out of it. Definitely worth doing. Plenty of interesting antique showcases in the hotel as well. Breakfast was included and there was plenty of choice from continental buffet to scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. It was of a high quality. The cons: aside from a couple of staff, we felt that in general they fell short. The maitre d in the restaurant was efficient but not friendly. The 2 younger concierge staff were hopeless. Example: we emailed when out and about (because we had tried to ring the hotel 3 times, it went through to music then cut us off each time after 30 secs - not great) and asked for help with a restaurant booking we had been recommended. No answer to the email, but fair enough they may have been busy. When we got back to the hotel we followed up with the 2 staff and were promised an email reply about dinner that night or the following night. Never got a reply. Oh and I had made sure we tipped the concierge (those two) on arrival.

A great hotel made even better by the staff.

Great hotel experience with exceptional staff. Special thanks to Manuel as the reception for helping organise trips and restaurants. The hotel has an Italian-eclectic feel, with character throughout and intriguing display cabinets of curiosities. The breakfast buffet was really good, with a large spread of fresh foods and proper squeezed juices.

Loved my stay at the Metropole

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I stayed at the Metropole Hotel from Sunday 14th-20th April. It felt like staying with family. (Cosy relaxed Atmosphere) The staff were friendly and personable. I had a large bedroom, comfortable bed & working AC. Big bathroom too. Christian and Sabastian in the dinning room, were charming, helpful & highly efficient. The food was delicious too. Breakfast was available from 7.30am, a buffet, with plenty of choice. Fresh juices & strong coffee. And of course Lino & Florian in the Oriental Bar. Lino a master mixologist, and the drinks didn't disappoint . Over all it's a very comfortable, well situated hotel, I would 100% wish to stay there again.

Charming hotel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Charming hotel! Fabulous service and amazing location. Who could ask for more! We stayed 3 nights and felt completely welcome from the moment we arrived. Al, the concierge helped us get acclimated to the hotel and area surrounding it! He was amazing! Our room was beautifully appointed, we stayed on the floor with the fan collection and I was gifted my very own fan! Grazie! The bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of drawer space to unpack. The bathroom was also beautiful and very functional. They provide you with an actual room key which you leave at the desk each time you leave the hotel. Seems to be such an old fashioned concept but also so delightful! This way the staff knows when you have left the hotel for cleaning and also gives you an opportunity to interact with staff each day. I absolutely loved this personal touch! Housekeeping was fabulous! We had breakfast at the hotel each morning. Please don’t miss out on getting a cream puff while there. They were delicious! We didn’t dine in the hotel but did have a nightcap on two separate occasions. It was very cozy but the drinks were definitely overpriced for the area. We understood we were paying for the ambiance and convenience of being in our own hotel. Overall this was a fantastic stay at the beginning of our travels and we would love to visit again.
